When it comes to the grandest candle festival, Ubon Ratchathani province takes the crown. The 2024 Ubon Ratchathani Candle Festival will be held for the 123rd consecutive year from July 17-23, 2024. This year's event, themed 'Celebrating the 72nd Birthday of the City of Candles, the City of Dharma, the Beautiful City of Four Lights,' will take place at Thung Si Muang and the main roads surrounding Thung Si Muang in Mueang District, Ubon Ratchathani Province. The candles showcased in the competition are crafted by various temple communities, government agencies, and private organizations. They come in different categories, including carved, molded, traditional, large, and small candles. The beauty of the festival lies in the collaboration of everyone involved.
