William Morris Gallery Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Jun)
Local London - hidden culture
A little out of the way but worth the visit: William Morris Museum on Saturday Farmer’s Market day. Perfect place to take your mum:)
William Morris Gallery - London
The William Morris Gallery is a museum dedicated to the life and work of William Morris, an English decorative arts designer and early socialist. It is located in Walthamstow.
This beautiful Gregorian mansion in Lloyd Park houses a permanent collection of William Morris’s works and temporary exhibitions.
You can go to the William Morris Gallery with a guide or on your own. The trip may include a walk in the area itself, and in particular Walthamstow Village. This is the most English, simple but cool area with shops, restaurants, pedestrian streets and a cinema. A day spent in this area will be remembered for a lifetime.

God's Own Junkyard Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Jun)
God's own junkyard ✨
What if I told you that I have personally been to God's own junkyard? 😉 This is a unique place for neon-art lovers and all things funky in Walthamstow, East London. It is surrounded by drink & food venues, so it is the perfect spot to visit.
Fabulously fluorescent, Gods Own Junkyard is a warehouse stuffed to the rafters with neon film props, vintage signs, and all sorts of groovy decorations.
The story of God’s Own Junkyard is a fascinating one. Late owner Chris Bracey, the ‘Neon Man’, got his start by making signs for Soho’s strip clubs and brothels. Soon, his talents were spotted by Hollywood, and he began fashioning props for directors such as Stanley Kubrick, Tim Burton, and Christopher Nolan.
You can spend hours peeking and prying at the range on offer. Thankfully, if you get hungry, Gods Own Junkyard operate their own on-site café, called The Rolling Scones, which is open for outdoor table service. Alternatively, Wild Card Brewery’s on-site bar is just across the yard, and brilliant gin bar Mother’s Ruin is found next door.

Whether you're an art enthusiast, a vintage lover, or simply someone looking for a unique experience, God's Own Junkyard has something for everyone.
For me, this is a place where I can escape the ordinary and immerse myself in a world of creativity and beauty.
The sheer magnitude of neon signs and vintage memorabilia at God's Own Junkyard is enough to make your jaw drop. Every corner you turn, you're greeted with a kaleidoscope of colors, each sign telling its own unique story. It's a visual feast for the eyes that will leave you in awe.

Instagram worthy houses in Nottinghill
#londontrip
One of the highlights at Nottinghill is the rows of colourful houses that line the streets, making this place an instagram worthy spot. Just be sure to not disturb the residents while you are there for the shots.
While there may be many other hidden gems and streets with these colourful houses, I went to Hillgate Street for the houses with soft pastel shades and Lancester Road for the houses with more vibrant crayon-like colours.
