Travel Plan for Chengdu-Chongqing: DIY Style, No Tour Needed

We explored both the natural and urban routes of Chengdu. For the natural route, we chose to visit Siguniangshan, Shuangqiaogou, and Bipenggou. According to our plan, the travel time wasn’t supposed to be too long. However, we had to adjust our schedule and shift the travel dates because one of our friends had another trip that overlapped with our original plan. This change led us to travel on a weekend, and based on maps checked from Thailand, we anticipated slightly heavier traffic. But in reality, the traffic was much worse than expected! What was supposed to be a 2-3 hour journey turned into 4-6 hours, leaving us with very little time. We went from being tourists to disaster survivors in no time 🥹. Additionally, Sichuan announced a special school holiday in the area, which we were completely unaware of. Normally, we check the holiday calendar, but this one caught us off guard. For anyone planning to visit natural routes, especially during high season, avoid weekends at all costs. Consider this a fair warning 😂. Have you ever encountered anything unusual during your trips?
