The progenitor of the Peng surname

Within the Pengzu Garden and Pengzu Ancestral Hall, the founder of the Great Peng state, the first longevity star of the Huaxia, and the progenitor of the Peng surname, Pengzu, is worshipped. Pengzu, one of the pioneers of the Daoist school before the Qin dynasty, established his state in Peng, and his descendants took the state's name as their surname. Pengzu was born on Peng Mountain, his father was Lu Zhong, and his mother was Nü Kui, making him the eighth-generation grandson of the Yellow Emperor. Because he was skilled in cooking delicious chicken soup, which he offered to Emperor Yao, he was enfeoffed in Da Peng. In Taoism, Pengzu is known for his longevity. Because he was adept at the art of the bedroom, many later works on the subject borrowed his name.
