Pathfinder Episode 104: Chongtai Temple, Yu County.

In the past two years, I've visited Shanxi six times to admire its temples. This place is full of surprises and love. 🌺 I visited Chongtai Temple in Yu County, Hebei—a small village temple originally built in the Liao Dynasty and rebuilt in the 9th year of the Jiajing period (1530). It's a provincial-level cultural relic, and it's said to have been upgraded to a national-level relic. It's a small temple, but not small in size. Including the mountain gate, there are six buildings along the axis, and six courtyards including the accommodation area at the back. 🌺 I came to Chongtai Temple mainly to admire the Ten Great Kings of the Qing Dynasty murals in the Water and Land Hall, especially the Face-Tearing King (Figure 1) and the Belly-Tearing King (Figure 3). The murals in the Three Teachings Building at the back are also interesting, with each character smiling. Free admission. Enter through the left side door!
