Tangwang Shengdi Temple, Tuancheng Village, Changzi, Shanxi

According to five Qing dynasty steles preserved in the temple, including the "Stele Record of the Renovation of Wenhuang Temple," "Stele Record of the Renovation of Tang Taizong Temple," and "Stele of the Renovation of Tangwang Shengdi Temple," the main hall inside the temple dates back to the Jin dynasty, while the rest of the buildings are from the Qing dynasty. Additionally, many renovations and expansions were made during the Ming and Qing periods. The Tangwang Shengdi Temple faces south with its back to the north and currently has one courtyard. Along the central axis are arranged in sequence a reversed opera stage (now collapsed), a stone scripture pillar, and the main hall. On both sides of the main hall are the left and right side halls, and in front of the hall on the east and west sides are five-bay side rooms. The main hall is three bays wide and six purlins deep, with a suspended gable roof. The beam frame is constructed in a hall style, with six purlins and a roof beam using three columns to connect the six purlins to the four purlins. The front eaves column heads are arranged in a five-purlin double tail style, with the bracket arms shaped like a raised form, and the main bay column heads have slanting brackets. The large wooden components such as the dougong brackets and beam frame of the main hall are mostly original, while the walls, doors, windows, and roof have been repaired and replaced by later generations. In front of the main hall's platform, there remains a simple and ancient stone scripture pillar with worn inscriptions and no visible date. It is a key cultural relic protection unit of Shanxi Province.
