If you have the opportunity to make a pilgrimage to Maharashtra, you must not miss paying respects and seeking blessings from "Ballaleshwar Vinayak," a natural stone statue of Ganesha enshrined in a tranquil and sacred octagonal stone temple. 💡 The Significance of this Temple: 1. The Only Temple in the World Named After a "Disciple": Normally, Ganesha temples are named after the names of deities, but this temple is one of the eight Ashtavinayak temples that is the only one named after a young man named "Ballal" to honor his fervent faith which led to the Lord's manifestation. 2. Brahmin-Style Attire: According to legend, the Lord appeared in the form of a Brahmin. Therefore, this statue is dressed in Brahmin attire, which is very rare to see. 3. Unique Octagonal Architecture: The temple is built with natural stone, joined with molten lead, and faces east. During certain times of the year, the morning sunlight shines directly on the statue of Ganesha. It is popular to pray for success, faith, and protection! 🙏✨ #travellevelup #BalaleshwarTemple #Ashtavinayaka #Ganesha #TravelIndia #IndiaSpiritualTravel

Today, I had the opportunity to visit and pay homage to Shree Varadvinayak at a temple in Mahad, Maharashtra, India. This is considered one of the eight most important Ashtavinayak temples dedicated to Lord Ganesha. 👉 Lord Varadvinayak is believed to be the Lord Ganesha who grants blessings and success (Varad means "giver of blessings"). The temple itself is beautifully traditional, situated amidst tranquil nature. The atmosphere inside the temple is filled with the power of faith; Indian people come to worship continuously. The temple's architecture is unique, and the statue of the deity appears full of compassion. Anyone who has the opportunity to go on a pilgrimage to India or is a devotee of Lord Ganesha should not miss visiting this temple. It's a truly fulfilling and memorable experience. #travellevelup #shreevaradvinayak #ashtavinayak #LordGanesha #travelindia #pilgrimageindia #mahad #Ganeshablessings #indiadiaries #travelforspiritualvisits #indiareview

Standing tall at 2,700 feet above sea level in the Sahyadri range, Raigad Fort is more than just a historical monument—it's an emotional experience, especially for anyone who reveres the legacy of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Visiting this fort was one of the most stirring experiences I’ve had in Maharashtra. As I climbed the 1,700+ stone steps, each one felt like walking through the pages of history. The fort was once the capital of the Maratha Empire, and you can feel that imperial energy in its ruins—from the grand Maha Darwaja to the Raigad Bazaar, which still echoes with tales of a thriving city. But the most profound moment for me was standing at the Samadhi (memorial) of Shivaji Maharaj—surrounded by silence and mist, it felt like time stood still. You can either trek up (recommended if you're fit and want the full experience) or take the ropeway, which offers a breathtaking aerial view of the lush green valleys below. The best time to visit is between October and March, when the climate is cool, the skies are clear, and the Sahyadris are blanketed in green and gold hues. If you're a history lover, do hire a local guide—hearing the legends in Marathi and seeing the ruins through their stories adds an irreplaceable richness to the visit. Don’t miss the Takmak Tok, the execution point, which offers a cliffside view that is both eerie and magnificent. Bonus tips: Closest city: Mahad, about 27 km away. Nearest railway station: Mangaon (about 28 km). Carry water, wear good trekking shoes, and start early. No network coverage on the fort—perfect for digital detox! #RaigadFort #ShivajiMaharaj #HistoricalIndia #MaharashtraDiaries #TrekToHistory #FortsofIndia #IncredibleIndia #HiddenGems #MarathaEmpire #TravelBackInTime

stunning place to visit in mumbai

📍Address:

#FreeTripJanuary2025 #Mumbai 📍Location: An island floating in the middle of Mumbai Bay, 9km northeast of Mumbai. Boats depart from behind the Gateway of India and the journey takes about an hour. 🏖️Atmosphere/Facilities: The boat ride is pleasant with a refreshing sea breeze, and the journey feels surprisingly quick as you gaze upon the Gateway of India and the various ships passing by. 💞Reasons to recommend: The island has a group of caves designated as a World Heritage Site, and you need to climb about 100 steps to reach the entrance to the caves. However, there are many monkeys, and they are adorable, so you can enjoy watching them as you climb. The locals are having picnics and enjoying themselves, which is a nice touch.

This is the first time that I have hiked in India and booked a guide to bring me to the Karnala fort near to Mumbai. Wonderful experience in hiking through the dusty trail and reaching the hill fort in the midst of peaceful nature compared to the hustle of Mumbai city. It took us about 2 hours of relatively easy climbing to reach the 16th century fort and the views were spectacular to say the least.

#2024wish The Elephanta Caves are a UNESCO World Heritage Site located on Elephanta Island in Mumbai Harbor, Maharashtra, India. The caves are renowned for their rock-cut architecture, intricate sculptures, and historical significance. Dating back to the 5th to 7th centuries AD, the Elephanta Caves consist of a series of cave temples dedicated to Lord Shiva. The main cave, also known as the Great Cave, features an impressive array of sculptural panels, pillars, and shrines depicting various aspects of Hindu mythology and religious themes. The highlight of the Elephanta Caves is the colossal Trimurti sculpture of Lord Shiva, which stands at the entrance to the main cave. The sculpture portrays Lord Shiva in his three aspects: as the creator (Brahma), preserver (Vishnu), and destroyer (Shiva), representing the cosmic cycles of creation, preservation, and destruction. The Elephanta Caves are considered one of the finest examples of ancient rock-cut architecture in India and attract visitors from around the world who come to admire their beauty, craftsmanship, and spiritual significance. A very beautiful sunset at the beach in Koh Chang. Locals and westerners all watched in quietness and respecting and appreciating the work of nature. There are restaurants which provided tables along the beach for people to enjoy their dinner while watching the sun sets. Unfortunately some inconsiderate Chinese came and disrupt everyone’s peace. Even the locals who have always been friendly despised their selfish behaviour. Too bad civilization takes time just like nature and manners need to be taught. What a pity!
