Ancient city Enna🇮🇹🇮🇹
The ancient city of Enna is located in a small town in Sicily in southern Italy.🇮🇹🇮🇹
Enna is located in the geographical center of Sicily. It is a mountain city with an altitude of 948 meters. Because it is located in the center of the wilderness, it is known as the "Lookout of Sicily"😎😎
Standing at the lookout _Enna in Sicily, you can see the entire town and even the coastline🤩🤩
There’s also a must-see attraction Castello di Lombardia.

🕰️🏛️ Ancient Sicily Unearthed at the Area Archeologica di Morgantina ✨
#hellohalloween
Nestled near the town of Aidone in the heart of Sicily, the Area Archeologica di Morgantina is a remarkable example of a city largely abandoned in antiquity — life here ceased in the 1st century AD, meaning the site avoided many of the later re-buildings that altered other ancient towns.
Within the park you’ll find the public core of the Hellenistic city: an agora, monumental stairs (ekklesiasterion), a theatre, and thermal buildings dating well before typical Roman baths. Houses, mosaics and public spaces lie across the ridge of Serra Orlando and the Cittadella hill, offering both archaeological richness and scenic views of the valley below.
Visiting Morgantina is both an exploration of daily life in an ancient Greek-Sicilian city and a walk through serene landscapes far from crowded tourist hubs. Allow about 1–2 hours to explore the accessible zone, wear good walking shoes and bring sun protection — the site is on a hillside and exposed.

Lost in Time: My Solo Pilgrimage to Sicily's Hidden Castle
#mytraveldiary
Forget the crowds. My latest solo adventure was a deep dive into the heart of Sicily's authentic interior: the mesmerizing Medieval Norman Castle of Gagliano Castelferrato. Perched dramatically on a rocky cliff, this isn't just a ruin; it's a silent, powerful testament to history, offering raw beauty and utter solitude.
My Solo Itinerary:
· The Quest: A scenic (and winding) bus or train journey from Enna or Catania into the rolling hills of central Sicily. The remote location makes the arrival feel like a true discovery.
· The Conquest: A climb through the ancient, quiet streets of the village to the fortress walls. The reward? Jaw-dropping, 360-degree views of the Sicilian countryside and the Simeto Valley. I spent hours just sitting with the stones, sketching, and listening to the wind—the only sound there.
· The Vibe: Finding a tiny local café in the village for a strong espresso and a cannolo, chatting with friendly locals, and pinching myself that I had this piece of history all to myself.
Top Tips for Solo Explorers:
· Check Transport Links: Public transport can be infrequent. Plan your arrival and departure times meticulously or consider a rental car for ultimate freedom.
· Wear Serious Shoes: The paths are rocky and uneven. Sturdy, comfortable footwear is essential.
· Pack a Picnic: There are few services right at the castle. Bring water, snacks, and a picnic to enjoy with that million-dollar view.
· Base Yourself in Enna: The stunning town of Enna is the perfect solo base—rich in history and well-connected for day trips like this.
This is for the solo traveler who craves authenticity over Instagram crowds. It's just you and the echo of the Normans.
