For the cliff lovers
#myhiddengems
If you are headed to Upper Normandy and like the cliff side destinations. This coastal gem will make for a fantastic holiday. Over the last decade or so, I have visited Etreat a number of times with friends. The views are superb, fresh air and great seafood. This isn't a beach with sand, but of pebbles. What the French call Galet. And on the right side of the beach, there are actually some cliffs that you can walk under, and on top of the cliff is a church that you can visit.
The main activity here as a tourist to trek up to the hill and soak in the views of the cliff and panaroma. With time in hand like i had over a course of several days and several stays. For workout and stroll reason i would even walk around the cliff, you'd see a golf course as well near one of the paths. Also, there are some exhibits about the Atlantic Wall and some descriptions about the inspiration and subjects that Claude Monet had from Etretat.

Etretat: A Trio of Natural Wonders, Smart Parking Saves Money
Unlike the Elephant Trunk Hill in Guilin, Guangxi, the cliffs of Etretat in the Normandy region of France differ in two main aspects: one is the difference between river and sea, and the other is the number of formations. Etretat boasts three such formations: the youngest elephant has seen less of the world and is charmingly white; the middle one has seen more and is elegant; the oldest has endured hardships and is rugged.
The youngest and middle elephants are well-known due to the works of Impressionist painters like Monet and are located at opposite ends of the beach. To see the oldest, one must climb atop the middle elephant's back, and to view all three takes at least two hours.
For those driving, parking in the red zone near the visitor center costs 45 euros for over five hours, while the orange zone, about a five-minute walk away, charges only 7.5 euros for the same duration. Walking a few extra steps can lead to significant savings.
The Elephant Cliff of France
The Elephant Cliff in Normandy, France, located in the northwestern coastal resort town of Etretat, is a famous natural landscape on the coast of Normandy. It is named for its three elephant trunk-shaped chalk cliffs. With a population of less than 2000, it is acclaimed as 'France's number one coast'. It is almost built along the very edge of the sea, and the pristine scenery astonishes everyone who comes here.

Exploring the French Wonderland: Entretat, the masterpiece of nature
🌊 Hi fairies, today I'm going to share with you a trip to France🇫🇷! Have you heard of Entretat on the Normandy coast? This is a perfect combination of natural and cultural beauty, where you can feel the masterpiece of nature and start an unforgettable holiday experience.
🐘 The Elephant Trunk Mountain in Entretat, like a masterpiece of nature, has a unique and towering cliff shape, just like two huge 🐘 elephant trunks! It has attracted countless tourists and artists who have found endless creative inspiration here, including Monet and Picasso.
🌴 In addition to Elephant Trunk Mountain, Entretat also has spectacular natural scenery. Stroll on the beach, enjoy the spectacular ocean view, or explore nearby nature reserves, such as Aiguille Creuse, which is an ideal place for hiking enthusiasts.
🍹 Here, you can also taste fresh seafood🦞🐚, crabs and oysters, or try local pastries, such as Normandy apple pie, to satisfy your taste buds
France’s “White Cliffs”
I didn’t go to the White Cliffs in the UK, but I went to Normandy across the sea. It’s the same as the White Cliffs. It took 130 million years of accumulation of marine life to form the current 100-meter cliff. Now it’s endless. The sea 🌊, the white cliffs stretching for kilometers, the vast grassland and sky (the golf ⛳️ course is so big that the drone almost lost it), it’s like a wilderness outside the world
If the 🇬🇧White Cliff is the end of the world|🇫🇷then the Elephant Trunk Hill in Normandy may be the Garden of Eden outside the world
This was also the famous "Operation Overlord"-Normandy landing in 1944: nearly three million soldiers crossed the English Channel to Normandy, France. It is also the largest maritime landing operation in the world~
The White Chalk Cliffs @ Porte D'Aval
#scenic #seaview #etretat #france #seaside #cliffs #view
The cost of the town of Eretat lies a beautiful scenic place called Porte D'Aval located at 76790 Etretat, France where it's popular among professional photographers due to the white chalk cliffs and the view from above looking down at the bright blueish waters. It is popular also because of the natural arch caused by the slamming of waves and salty breeze overtime.
If you like hiking there are also couple of hiking routes here and these hikes will bring you along the coast and will be able to catch a view of these beautiful scenery. But so remember to stay on the trial as you never know the rocks might give way. There is also no shelter here, so if you are afraid of the sun, make sure you apply sunblock before u come.
Bucket list - Étretat
The stunning cliffs of Etretat are world-famous for their naturally-formed archways. This is nature at its best with a fantastic mix of water, cliffs and open fields inland.
We climbed up at both ends to have the birds eye view. Snap some photos of these geological wonders as you ramble along the coastal path.

Speaking of Elephant Trunk Hill, we must first talk about the French painter Monet, one of the founders of Impressionism, and also its representative. You should have heard of the famous "Sunrise Impression"?
Monet was born in Paris. At the age of 5, the family moved to Le Havre in the Normandy region. So when he grew up, Monet painted his hometown of Le Havre. Not only that, the Elephant Trunk Hill near Le Havre became a Monet dish.
With Monet's eyes on the country, the scenery in front of him becomes an oil painting.
Back to Elephant Trunk Hill, as the name suggests, is the mountain that looks like a nose. There are three elephant trunk mountains in the Elephant Trunk Mountain Scenic Area. Because it is also called Elephant Trunk Hill, it is a friendly scenic spot with the Elephant Trunk Hill in Guilin.
The room of this detective hotel is not large, the traces of furniture used for many years are obvious, slightly outdated, and the window is the Etretat under the setting sun. I looked around and found a serious problem. There seemed to be no bathroom in the room. Don't worry, the boss doesn't mean that there is a secret road. The original door with a round mirror and a windbreaker is the door of the bathroom. It is really not easy to see it on the spot.
There is a mountain by the sea in Etretat and a church on the hill. When I came down to the top of the cliff where the church was located, the coastline was like a gentle arm that took the whole town into my arms. An orange-billed seagull sat with me on the edge of the cliff, listening to the sound of the waves. This cold wind is also willing. There are three elephant trunks, like a family of three, playing on the shore. Many of the most famous painters, the most famous of them is Monet, who painted many elephant trunks.
Walking to the seaside of Etretat, nature is so eager to cut out the cliff like a stone arch like a proboscis, one of the most famous spots on the northern coastline of France, the Elephant Trunk Hill. Wrap tight coats and scarves in the cold wind, walk on the pebble beach, and can't help but imagine the scene of people bathing in the sun on Nanfa Beach. One South and one North, the difference is so big.
The northern coast of France is rich in sea rainbow, which is what we call the green mouth, or mussels. The town of Etretat is no exception. Its speciality is white wine boiled sea rainbow. Here is a 1851 old store called "DEUX AUGUSTINS" with multi-language menus, including Chinese menus. There is a restaurant called "brasserie pizzeria" opposite it, which may be opened by a boss, exactly the same as its menu, but without Chinese.
You must be familiar with the Elephant Trunk Hill in Guilin, but do you know that there is an elephant "family" in the seaside town of Etretat in northwestern France! The three large, medium, and small trunk-shaped cliffs are arranged in turn, making people have to admire the wonders of nature! Unfortunately, it seems that only aerial photography can see the spectacular three-story line at the same time? We climbed the summit trail and saw only two. Which one is like a father, which one is like a mother, and which one is like a baby? This is waiting for you to discover...
