In the South of France, I slowed down time by 100 times
When people mention France, they think of Paris. But if you ask a French person "Where to go on vacation," nine out of ten will tell you: the South of France.
It's not that Paris is bad, but the South of France truly understands how to live.
The Côte d'Azur, hills covered with lavender, cliffside stone villages, markets under the sun—
Here, there’s no rushing to check off sights, only the delightful dilemma of "Which beach to daydream on today."
...
🌊 Côte d'Azur | So blue it feels unreal
🔹 Nice’s Baie des Anges, Cannes’ Palais des Festivals, Monaco’s luxury yacht harbor...
🔹 Menton — the "Pearl of France" hidden on the French-Italian border, with over 300 sunny days a year and prices only half of Nice’s. The pastel-colored old town, 99 lemon-yellow steps, and the February Lemon Festival turn the whole city into a giant citrus exhibition.
🔹 Saint-Paul-de-Vence — a medieval art village filled with galleries

💜 Provence | Purple is just the appetizer
From late June to mid-July, the lavender on the Valensole Plateau reaches full bloom. Named by National Geographic as "one of the most beautiful places in the world," 9,500 hectares of purple flowers stretch to the horizon.
But Provence is far more than just purple.
🔹 The water of Lake Sainte-Croix is turquoise — rent a pedal boat and paddle into the canyon entrance, gazing up at cliffs hundreds of meters high from the water.
🔹 Aigues-Mortes has pink salt lakes where flocks of flamingos rest on the pink-and-white water.
🔹 Gordes, the stone village built on a hilltop, looks like it’s grown out of the rock. Here, you’ll find only the shadows of trees, the sound of vineyards in the wind, and the aroma of delicious food between stone houses.

🏔️ Hidden Gems | Even the French hesitate to share
🔹 The ceramic town nestled between cliffs, known as one of the "most beautiful mountain towns," is full of painted ceramic plates and artisan workshops.
🔹 Cassis, a seaside town next to Marseille, boasts stunning turquoise fjords and white cliffs under the sun.
🔹 Porquerolles Island is a half-hour boat ride from Hyères and is a nature reserve. Perfect for snorkeling, hiking, and boating—truly far from the noise.
