Fuchu travel guide and discussion

"Besides Koami Shrine, are there any other recommended wealth shrines in Tokyo?" "If I want to pray for wealth, career success, and investment luck, which one should I really visit?" Actually, there's a good reason why Koami Shrine is so popular—it truly is a shrine worth visiting. However, it would be a pity if you thought Koami Shrine was the only wealth shrine in Tokyo. Having lived in Tokyo for over 10 years, I've visited quite a few shrines over time, and I've discovered that there are actually many other wealth shrines that local Japanese people genuinely visit. Some are famous for "Zeniarai" (washing money for good luck), some are particularly great for praying for career advancement and promotions, and quite a few are highly popular shrines frequently visited by politicians and business elites for years. 💰⛩️ Today, I'm going to round up and share some of the Tokyo wealth shrines I've personally visited and genuinely recommend. If my previous post introduced Tokyo's most representative "money-washing shrine," then this one is my ultimate recommendation list for Tokyo's wealth shrines, hoping to help you find the one that suits you best. So, let's get started! ⸻ Stop 1 | Hebikubo Shrine Tokyo's Most Powerful White Snake Wealth Shrine 🐍 📍 Address: 4-4-12 Futaba, Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo 142-0043 If I could only recommend one more wealth shrine to you today, besides Koami Shrine, the very first one that comes to mind would definitely be Hebikubo Shrine. Located in a residential area in Shinagawa Ward, it doesn't have as many tourists as Asakusa or Nihonbashi, but in Japan, it's a famous wealth spot in many people's hearts, drawing quite a few visitors who make a special trip here every year. Hebikubo Shrine enshrines the White Snake Great Deity (Shirohebi Ookami) and Benzaiten. Since the white snake has always been regarded as a symbol of wealth, good fortune, and luck in Japan, it attracts many people to pray for financial luck and career success. When you come here, you absolutely can't miss the "Shirohebi Shimizu" Zeniarai (money-washing) experience. Washing your bills or coins in the sacred water symbolizes washing away bad luck and getting your financial luck flowing again. Although some might find it a bit mystical, it's exactly this sense of ritual that makes the visit more memorable. Many people will even put the washed bills in their wallets and not spend them, keeping them as their own "lucky money." ⭐ Personal Recommendation Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ If it's your first time experiencing Tokyo's Zeniarai culture, I even feel that Hebikubo Shrine offers a more engaging experience than Koami Shrine. Plus, with relatively fewer crowds, it's much more comfortable to visit, making it a great place to take your time snapping photos and soaking in the shrine's atmosphere. ⸻ Stop 2 | Fukutoku Shrine (Mebuki Inari) The Most Famous Wealth Shrine in Tokyo's Financial District 💹 📍 Address: 2-4-14 Nihonbashi Muromachi, Chuo-ku, Tokyo 103-0022 If your work is related to investments, finance, sales, or entrepreneurship, then I'd definitely recommend visiting Fukutoku Shrine. The shrine is located right next to COREDO Muromachi in Nihonbashi, surrounded by modern high-rises, creating a very interesting contrast. On one side is a bustling commercial street, and on the other is a quiet, solemn shrine. ⛩️ Since the Edo period, Nihonbashi has been a major commercial hub, so Fukutoku Shrine has long been regarded as an important shrine symbolizing wealth, business prosperity, and career luck. Here, you can often see office workers in suits taking advantage of their lunch breaks to come and pray. Some press their hands together in silent prayer, while others quickly head back to their companies after paying their respects. That kind of scene gives me a real sense of everyday Japanese life. Perhaps what everyone is praying for isn't just wealth, but a smooth workday, successfully sealing a deal, or striving for a better opportunity for themselves. ⭐ Personal Recommendation Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ If you're hoping for a promotion, a raise, a successful startup, or if you work in sales or finance, I highly recommend adding Fukutoku Shrine to your itinerary. The prayers here lean more toward "earned wealth" and career development rather than windfall luck. ⸻ Stop 3 | Hie Shrine The Favorite Career Success Shrine Among Tokyo's Politicians and Business Elites ⛩️ 📍 Address: 2-10-5 Nagatacho, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo 100-0014 When it comes to Tokyo's most famous shrines for career luck, Hie Shrine is definitely on the list. Located in Nagatacho, it's right near the National Diet Building, the Prime Minister's Official Residence, and many government agencies, making it a shrine frequently visited by politicians and business leaders for a long time. It was only after living in Tokyo that I gradually came to understand that the Japanese perspective on "financial luck" is actually quite different from what we might imagine. Many Japanese people believe that a good job, a good boss, good connections, and even a crucial opportunity are all part of financial luck. And what Hie Shrine is best at protecting is precisely this kind of fortune. Additionally, Hie Shrine has a very cute feature: its divine messengers aren't the familiar Komainu (lion-dogs), but monkeys. Because the Japanese word for monkey, "saru" (猿), sounds exactly like "saru" (去る), meaning "to leave," it carries the auspicious meaning of "ma ga saru" (evil leaves), hoping that bad luck will depart and good luck will arrive. The monkey amulets (omamori) at the shrine have always been very popular and are among my personal favorites to collect. Whenever friends visit Tokyo, I often recommend they bring one back home. ⭐ Personal Recommendation Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ If you're currently preparing to change jobs, seeking a promotion, starting a business, or hoping for a new breakthrough in your career, I think Hie Shrine is definitely worth a visit. ⸻ Stop 4 | Anahachimangu Shrine Tokyo's Wealth-Attracting Shrine with the Most Ritualistic Feel 🌅 📍 Address: 2-1-11 Nishiwaseda, Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo 162-0051 If you visit Tokyo between December and February of the following year, there's a good chance you'll see a long, winding queue outside a shrine. Don't doubt it—that's very likely Anahachimangu Shrine. The most famous thing here is the "Ichiyou Raifuku Omamori," considered by Japanese people to be one of the ultimate representative amulets for attracting wealth. Every year, many people make special trips from other prefectures just to get this one amulet. However, the most unique part is that once you get the amulet, you can't just put it in your wallet or hang it up right away. Instead, according to the shrine's rules, it must be attached to a specific location in your home at a designated date and time. Because of this, many people say it's Tokyo's most "ritualistic" wealth amulet. One evening, I passed by Anahachimangu and saw the queue looping around multiple times—I was genuinely a bit shocked. Later, after asking Japanese friends, I learned that many families have been coming regularly for ten or twenty years. For them, it's long stopped being just about buying an amulet; it's an essential yearly habit they can't do without. ⭐ Personal Recommendation Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ If you're an investor, an entrepreneur, a freelancer, or simply hoping for smoother financial luck in the new year, I highly recommend scheduling a visit here. ⸻ Stop 5 | Shinagawa Shrine One of the Ten Shrines of Tokyo, and a Local Shrine I Really Love 🌿 📍 Address: 3-7-15 Kitashinagawa, Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo 140-0001 When many people think of Shinagawa, the first things that come to mind are the Shinkansen or airport transfers. But actually, tucked away not far from the station is the historic Shinagawa Shrine. It's not just one of the Ten Shrines of Tokyo; it's also a shrine that many Tokyoites visit in their daily lives. The most famous spot in the shrine is the "Ichiryumanbai no Izumi" (Spring of One Grain, Ten Thousand Folds). It symbolizes that a small amount of effort can lead to a massive harvest in the future. Because of this meaning, it attracts many people praying for financial and career luck, hoping their hard work will blossom. Additionally, a complete "Fujizuka" (a miniature Mount Fuji) is preserved here. If you don't have the chance to climb the actual Mount Fuji, you can experience a mini version of the climbing pilgrimage right here. Looking down from the top, the entire shrine and residential area unfold before your eyes. That quiet, peaceful atmosphere is one of the reasons I love Shinagawa Shrine so much. ⭐ Personal Recommendation Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ If you happen to be staying near Shinagawa, I highly recommend dropping by. With fewer crowds than the popular tourist spots, it offers an extra touch of everyday Tokyo life. ⸻ Stop 6 | Okunitama Shrine One of Tokyoites' Favorite Power Spots 🌳 📍 Address: 3-1 Miyamachi, Fuchu, Tokyo 183-0023 If you want to experience a large shrine that local Tokyoites truly visit, I highly recommend taking a trip to Okunitama Shrine. Located in Fuchu City, it boasts a history of over 1,900 years and was the principal shrine of the former Musashi Province, holding a very important status in Tokyo's shrine community. Its main enshrined deity has deep ties with Okuninushi-no-Kami of Izumo Taisha, so it has long been a place of worship for wealth, business prosperity, good luck, and good matchmaking. Compared to those popular shrines in the city center, there are far fewer foreign tourists here. Instead, you're much more likely to see Japanese families, seniors, and even nearby residents taking leisurely walks and praying. I personally really love it here, not just because the shrine is beautiful, but more so because every time I visit, I can feel a very calming atmosphere. No rushing, no crowds—just taking a quiet stroll leaves you feeling so much better. ⭐ Personal Recommendation Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ If you enjoy in-depth travel or want to see a side of Tokyo different from the popular tourist areas, I highly recommend planning a half-day trip to Fuchu. Okunitama Shrine is absolutely worth it. ⸻ 🏆 My Recommended Ranking for Tokyo's Wealth Shrines If it's your first time in Tokyo: 🥇 Hebikubo Shrine 🥈 Koami Shrine 🥉 Fukutoku Shrine ⸻ If you're an office worker: 🥇 Hie Shrine 🥈 Fukutoku Shrine 🥉 Koami Shrine ⸻ If you want to pray for career luck: 🥇 Hie Shrine 🥈 Fukutoku Shrine 🥉 Okunitama Shrine ⸻ If you want to plan a one-day wealth shrine pilgrimage: I highly recommend this route: Hebikubo Shrine ⬇️ Shinagawa Shrine ⬇️ Fukutoku Shrine ⬇️ Koami Shrine It can be perfectly completed in one day, and it's the route I most recommend to friends visiting Tokyo for the first time. ⸻ Actually, having lived in Tokyo for over 10 years, I've seen many people come to shrines to pray for wealth, as well as for jobs, promotions, and career success. I slowly realized something. What truly changes a person's life has never been the amulets or the talismans. It's that moment when you stand in the shrine, close your eyes to make a wish, and you start seriously thinking about what you truly want to pursue, willing to try hard for that goal once again. I think this might be the most charming part of a shrine. What it brings us isn't necessarily the wealth itself, but the courage to start fresh and the strength to believe that the future will get better and better. If you come to Tokyo next time, don't just schedule one shrine. Why not slow down, visit a few different shrines, and experience their unique histories, cultures, and atmospheres? Perhaps the greatest harvest you'll bring home won't be financial luck, but a beautiful travel memory. ⸻ ❤️ Finally, I also want to say a huge thank you to everyone who has read all the way to this point. From the earlier posts on "The Difference Between Shrines and Temples" and "How to Choose an Amulet," to "Koami Shrine," and now today's roundup of Tokyo's wealth shrines, the shrine series is coming to a close for now. I'm so happy that so many people were willing to read, leave comments, and share, and thank you all for accompanying me along the way to learn about Japan's shrine culture together. I hope this series doesn't just let you know which shrines are famous and which amulets are popular, but more importantly, I hope that when you come to Japan, you can bring a bit more understanding, a bit more respect, and create a few more of your own travel stories. Moving forward, I will continue to share more about everyday life in Tokyo, independent travel guides, food, seasonal spots, and some little hidden gems that you only slowly discover by living here. If you also enjoy this kind of sharing, feel free to follow my fan page, save this article, and share it with friends and family who are planning a trip to Tokyo.

While it’s famous as a hydrangea spot, Annabelle Hill might still be a little-known breathtaking scenic spot. I visited "Flying Strawberry Tokyo" in Fuchu City, which is gaining popularity for strawberry picking accessible by train from the city center. What does "flying" mean? The plants are suspended in the air by machines, and the ground is concrete. This means you won’t get back pain when picking strawberries, and there’s no worry about dirty shoes. This strawberry farm is not all-you-can-eat; the fee includes up to 200g. About 10 to 12 medium-sized strawberries make up 200g? They weigh your strawberries midway and tell you how many grams you have left, allowing you to add more. Be careful, once picked, strawberries cannot be returned. Extra strawberries cost 450 yen per 100g, so while others picked nearly double as souvenirs, we went with 799g for four people, pushing the limit. You can eat these strawberries at tables under the plants. Today, there were four varieties to compare. The fully ripe strawberries were truly juicy and sweet. The "Yotsuboshi" variety was especially delicious. With unlimited soft drinks included, 1800 yen was a reasonable experience. Store Name: Flying Strawberry Tokyo Address: 3-43 Bunbaicho, Fuchu City, Tokyo Operating Period: Late December to June Open Days: Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday, Sunday (2025) Hours: 10:00, 12:00, 14:00 – each session lasts 90 minutes Reservation: Required (book via the store’s website, etc.) Price: 1800 yen for elementary school students and older (200g) 1500 yen for children under elementary school age Access: 7-minute walk from JR Nambu Line Nishi-Fuchu Station 12-minute walk from Keio Line Bubaigawara Station Parking: None (please be aware as the store warns) There is a Super OK near Nishi-Fuchu Station and a Summit near Bubaigawara Station, both with paid parking lots. #0yentripnovember Right next to Fuchuhonmachi station! Tokyo Racecourse is like a theme park that everyone from adults to children can enjoy❤️ Various events are held on weekends, and on big race days there are talk shows with comedians and big-name athletes, so it's full of fun😊 A gourmet festival called Ramen Stakes was also held🍜 Of course you can enjoy horse racing, but you can also relax by watching live racehorses in the paddock🐴 You can also enjoy a meal at the food court🍔 Children can enjoy the spacious athletics✨ I never got bored even after spending the whole day there🥰 📍Address: 1-1 Hiyoshicho, Fuchu City, Tokyo 183-0024

A great place to visit in Tokyo during spring! The reason is the cherry blossoms~ Shinjuku Park, famous for its cherry blossom spots, is filled with beautiful cherry blossoms and is a great place for a walk, making it a must-visit spot for tourists traveling to Tokyo!! Shinjuku Park, located prominently in the city center, is a great place to take a break during your trip~ ✅Shinjuku Park 新宿公園 📍Japan 〒183-0023 Tokyo, Fuchu, Miyamachi, 1 Chome−27

Okuni-tama Shrine is one of the shrines in Japan with a long history and many visitors. The location is in Fuchu City, Tokyo, Japan. You can take the Keio Line and walk about six minutes from Fuchu Station to the destination. Take a leisurely stroll along the gravel path, take a closer look at the shrine's exquisite wooden sculptures and the many thousand-year-old trees enshrined there, which is very artistic.

#Travelwithme I went to see the hydrangeas at the Local Forest Museum in Fuchu City 🎵 I took a train and a bus 🤗 It was very empty even on a Saturday, so I recommend it ❤️ 10,000 hydrangeas were blooming all over the park and it was beautiful 🎵 It's a place where you can feel Japan with buildings with thatched roofs and other things like thatched roofs that give you a Japanese feel. It's also a recommended point that you can enjoy the hydrangeas together with the Japanese feel and buildings such as the waterwheel building. There are also athletic facilities where children can play, so it's a spot that can be enjoyed by families, couples, and even by yourself. Annabelle on Annabelle Hill at the back of the park is in full bloom! ! It was a spectacular sight 🥹📍Fuchu City Local Forest Museum Address: 6-32 Minamimachi, Fuchu City, Tokyo 183-0026 Hours: 9:00-17:00 (entry until 16:00) Access: Take the Keio Line or Nambu Line to Bunbeigawara Station, then take a local bus (departing from Bunbeigawara Station) to Local Forest General Gymnasium and get off at "Local Forest Main Gate" Admission Fee: 300 yen Note: There is a cafe inside the museum, but the rice dishes were sold out by 13:30, so you can have a meal at the shop before entering the museum. ⚠️Basically only cash is accepted, so be careful if you don't usually carry cash #hydrangea spot #tokyotourism #fuchucity #hydrangea

#Travelingwithme I went there because I wanted to eat Mont Blanc. Maybe I arrived at the store at a good time, so I was able to get in right away. You should definitely order Mont Blanc. Everything about Mont Blanc is delicious, and although it's not cheap, it's a well-balanced product. Thank you for the meal.

#Travelingwithme An old-fashioned crepe shop. A very famous local shop. I've been buying crepes here ever since I was old enough to remember. Their crepes are very delicious, with no flaws in both taste and volume. A shop that has been loved by locals for many years. Thank you for the meal!

#Travelwithme This is a very simple ramen. The only topping is chopped spring onions seasoned with sesame oil. But it's delicious. This is a ramen where you can really taste the noodles. The flavor is very simple, but the thick, flat noodles are so tasty that you'll probably get addicted.

#TravelingWithMe I chose the spiciest Onibeni, but it wasn't too spicy and was still delicious. The noodles were thick and curly, with a chewy texture. It was satisfying to eat. The chili oil, which was prepared at a high temperature, had an indescribable burnt aroma and was not only spicy but also had an amazing taste that was likely to become addictive. This is the perfect restaurant for people who like spicy food.

#TravelingWithMe The soup has a strong animal flavor. The slightly sweet soy sauce sauce brings out a variety of complex flavors. The noodles are medium-thick and have a high water content. They mix well with the soup, so you'll want to keep eating. The other toppings are also satisfactory. It's no wonder this flavor has survived in front of Fuchu Station for so long.

#Travelingwithme I bought the "Tanuki Niboshi (large)" and "Rice" from the weekday morning menu. The soup is light and unseasoned with dried sardines. The noodles are medium-thick and curly with a high water content, hand-kneaded just before boiling. You can eat it easily in the morning without any resistance. The only toppings are fried tempura bits and chopped onions. I would have liked a slice of pork, but for this price (730 yen for a large), I can't complain. I transplanted the fried tempura bits that had absorbed the soup onto the rice and had a "Tanuki bowl." Personally, I thought it would be nice to have a raw egg so I could do TKG.

#Travelingwithme It was my first time there. I ordered castella buns, Furusato potatoes, and dorayaki. An elderly man wearing a white chef's lab coat seems to be running the place by himself. The interior of the shop had a Showa-era feel, and reminded me of my grandparents' house. I tried the castella buns first, and they were just the right amount of sweet. The white bean paste inside had a gentle flavor. The skin was firm, which was also good.

#TravelWithMe I had the Chocolat Vanille for 550 yen, the Chocolate Basque Cheesecake for 550 yen, and the Lapin for 480 yen. The Chocolat Vanille was delicious, with the rich, melting chocolate and caramel flavor filling the mouth. The Chocolate Basque Cheesecake was not too sweet, but you could enjoy the aroma of chocolate and the heavy, rich taste of cheese. The Lapin was delicious, with a large chunk of pear in the gentle cheese flavor. Thank you for the meal. I'd like to go again.

#Travelwithme I tried the white kuriko. I was impressed that taiyaki could be this delicious. I'm sure it will become addictive. As someone who prefers kidney bean (white bean paste) over red bean paste, it's a shame that they don't have white bean paste in the regular version. The custard and chocolate versions are both delicious.

#Travelingwithme I went for lunch with a friend. I ordered a salad lunch and a vongole pasta lunch. I chose from vongole, bolognese, and yuzu cream sauce for my pasta. You can also order a plate of four appetizers as a set. I got a free juice by signing up for LINE. The pasta was delicious, too. The atmosphere inside the restaurant was nice, so I'd like to go again.

#Travelingwithme This is an Italian restaurant next to Okunitama Shrine in Fuchu. The first floor is a patisserie and cafe, and the second floor is a restaurant. As you can tell from the name of the restaurant, "Seifudo," it was originally a Japanese sweets shop founded in 1868. It seems to have continued from there to the present day. They have a variety of pastas and their cakes are also delicious. Why not stop by after visiting the shrine? Thank you for the meal.

#Travelwithme My top recommendation is the hamburger steak. You can choose from several sizes, ranging from 150g to 200g, to suit your taste. You can also choose from several types of sauce. The salad and miso soup that come with the set meal are also excellent. The salad has corn and crunchy lettuce, and the miso soup has a refined taste with onions, tofu, and nametake mushrooms. It's delicious, so why not go and try it?!

#Travelwithme The smell of curry lured me in and I checked in. The restaurant was high quality in both quantity and taste. They used spices well, so the taste never got boring. The mutton curry was superb. The secret ingredient of peppercorns was exquisite. The salad was voluminous and seemed fresher and tastier than other restaurants. The chicken tikka was delicious when dipped in spinach chicken curry. The curry was delicious, wallet-friendly, and the staff were friendly. PayPay is also available. Next time I'll try ordering a double mutton curry.

#MeAndTravel This is my favorite local bakery. My recommendations are the pastrami bagel sandwich and the Milky French bread! I bought salted bread, mentaiko half French bread, and a sweet Swiss bread. The salted bread has a simple and gentle taste. It was chewy and crunchy with the juicy butter and salty taste. The Milky French bread has always been a classic French treat, sweet and soft. Please be sure to stop by.

#Travelwithme It's located in the Harumicho shopping arcade in Fuchu city. It's a homey Western restaurant. There are six four-person tables and two counter seats. The menu has a familiar lineup of hamburger steaks, pork cutlets, minced meat cutlets, curry, omelettes, and pork loin ginger stir-fry. It comes with rice, miso soup, pickles, shredded cabbage, and macaroni salad. The recommended daily special set meal (800 yen) is a great deal that will fill you up. Everything is delicious. The recommended dish is the hamburger steak. The unique homemade shape, softness, and taste are amazing. The service is impeccable with lots of smiles, and you'll be soothed every time you come by with delicious food and warm hospitality. Please note that the restaurant is usually full of customers at lunchtime.

#TravelingWithMe It's located next to the ticket gate at Fuchu Honmachi. You can enter from both inside and outside the ticket gate. I had the breakfast set. It was tanuki soba noodles, rice, natto and a raw egg. They also have another menu with rice and a noodle menu with a hot spring egg. It's just the right size for a quick meal.

#Travelingwithme The set menu in the restaurant includes curry, naan, salad, soup, chicken, yogurt, and a drink. I was surprised at how luxurious it was. I also ordered the adult set, which was a keema set with a large freshly baked naan, soup, snacks, salad, and a drink. The salad dressing had an appetizing color and was not spicy, but very rich and delicious. You can pay by QR code, but it seems that a fee is added, so cash is probably better. Thank you for the meal. I'll come again

#Travelingwithme I ordered the Lunch Set B (7 skewers and 2 pieces of fried chicken). It's nice to be able to casually eat kushikatsu. The curry seems to be very popular as well. It seems like fried chicken is a must-have topping for curry. It's so addictive that you'll want to try them all. I'm jealous of the many people who drink during lunch.

#Travelingwithme The portions were great and the price was great!! The pilaf set was very filling. I could choose between compote and clam miso soup! The large hamburger curry was very tender and didn't have many toppings, but the hamburger was big and very satisfying. The restaurant was quiet, but you wouldn't stand out if you were having a normal conversation, and there were more people eating alone than not! It's delicious, so I'm sure I'll be a repeat customer

#Travelingwithme As soon as you enter the restaurant, you will see the entrance stairs to the right. You order using the tablet at your seat. Everything looked delicious, so I shared a variety with my friends. You can also choose the amount of noodles. You can also add more, so if you're not sure if you can eat it all, it might be a good idea to add more. It was a weekday afternoon and the restaurant was empty, so the food was served pretty quickly. Both the meat udon and kitsune udon were delicious. The tantanmen noodles were delicious, although they may not have been satisfying if you're expecting a strong flavor. Thank you for the meal
