2026 Ghasri Travel Guide: must-see attractions, popular food, hotels, transport & travel experiences (updated in August)

I spent 2 wonderful days in Gozo, and if you’re visiting Malta, I’d highly recommend staying overnight rather than making it just a day trip. The island has such a peaceful rhythm that you’ll want time to simply enjoy it. I stayed at Casa Gemelli Boutique Guesthouse in Victoria, and it was one of the highlights of my trip. The hosts were incredibly warm and recommended some fantastic local restaurants—I genuinely think Gozo has some of the best food I had in Malta. I’ll share my favourite food spots in another video! Everything on the island is well connected by bus, so I never felt the need to rent a car. Victoria is such a charming town to base yourself in. Its narrow streets, local cafés, and relaxed atmosphere make it a wonderful place to wander after a day of sightseeing. Sitting above the town is the magnificent Citadel, one of my favourite places in Gozo. Walk through its ancient stone streets, explore the old fortifications, and don’t miss the panoramic views across the island—they’re especially beautiful around sunset. Some of my other favourite experiences were visiting Ta’ Pinu Basilica in the evening, Wied il-Għasri, Dwejra Bay, and the historic Salt Pans. If you visit Comino, make sure to spend some time at the Blue Lagoon. The water is an unbelievable shade of turquoise, and I’d highly recommend taking a dip. If you can, catch one of the last boats back—most of the crowds will have left by then, and watching the sunset over the lagoon is pure magic. I visited at the end of January and beginning of February, and honestly, I think it’s one of the best times to experience Gozo. The island is beautifully green after the winter rains, hotel prices are much lower, and many of the island’s most beautiful places can be enjoyed without the crowds. While some water activities weren’t operating, I found the peace and quiet to be well worth the trade-off. Gozo is one of those places where life slows down. No rush, no noise—just beautiful landscapes, welcoming people, and the feeling that, for a little while, everything becomes wonderfully calm. #hellohalloween Perched high above the island, the Ta’ Ġurdan Lighthouse in Gozo is one of those places where time seems to pause. The winding road up offers breathtaking views of the countryside, and once at the top, the panorama stretches endlessly — from the cliffs to the glittering sea. 🌾🌊 As the light turns golden in the late afternoon, the lighthouse stands proudly against the sky, its gentle beam guiding the way as evening falls.
