I don’t regret summer vacation in August. These 8 secret places have few people and beautiful scenery. While others crowded in popular cities to watch the sea of people, I hid in the grasslands, mountain streams and old streets, and the wind blew all over my body
Cool. These 8 places, I stepped through the points for you, some of them even saved you the ticket money.
01 Hulunbuir City |Inner Mongolia
📍 Hulunbuir Prairie, after 3pm is the best way to visit. The sun hit the grass tips at four o'clock, and at four o'clock, the wind rolled over from the north, the grass waves turned layer by layer, and the body temperature dropped directly by five degrees. You just park your car on the dirt road by the Mozhgrad River and drive into the depths of the grass for twenty minutes, surrounded by the sound of grasshoppers beating except for the sound of wind.
🍜 Don't settle for dinner at the entrance of the scenic spot. Drive to the "Nomintala Milk Tea House" in Hailar District and order a pot of tea with hand-steaked meat. The salted milk tea is dipped in fried rice and milk skin.
⚠️ Mosquitoes on the grassland are vicious. Remember to spray mosquito repellent after 6pm. Long pants are much more useful than shorts. If you bring the elderly and children, don't be so greedy to run too far. Take a walk near the Golden Tent Khan Tribe. The grass is high enough and the slope is gentle enough to take beautiful photos.
02 Xinyang City | Henan
Rooster Hill is the kind of "you don't have to do a travel guide at all" kind of place.
🚄 Take a taxi from Xinyang East Station for forty minutes, tickets plus round trip bus about a hundred dollars, mountain accommodation ranges from a few tens of dollars of youth hostels to three hundred dollars of hotels. I went up the mountain at 8am that morning and walked in the direction of Dawn Peak. There were all fir and jasmine trees on both sides of the road, the sun didn't get in at all, and the wind carried the smell of turpentine.
⏰ After 11 o'clock at the top of the mountain, there are more people, if you want to be quiet, take advantage of it early, at 7:30 the first sightseeing car up the mountain, the whole mountain is yours. When going down the mountain, don't take the bus that turns back the same way. Take the trail in Changsheng Valley. There is a stream following you all the way. When you get tired of walking, sit on the rocks and soak your feet. The water is so cold that your toes are shivering.
⚠️ There are few canteens on the mountain, bring enough water and dry food, a bowl of cup noodles selling you for fifteen dollars is really not worth it.
03 Ya'an City|Sichuan
The coolness of Bifeng Gorge is the kind of coolness that “oozes from the seams of bones”. After entering the scenic spot, take the sightseeing elevator down to the bottom of the valley. The drop is more than 100 meters. Once the elevator door opens, the air conditioner hits your face, as if you have entered a natural refrigerator. In the canyon, the trail is built along the stream, with waterfalls on the left and moss stone walls on the right. You don't sweat after walking for half an hour, but you have to add a thin jacket.
📍 The panda base is in the scenic area, 9:30 am is feeding time, you can see the pandas holding bamboo and chewing until the sound, the scene is much more interesting than watching them sleep.
🍜 Leave the scenic spot at noon, drive ten minutes to Shangli Ancient Town, find a small shop selling tart noodles, red oil mixed with pepper powder, spicy to the lips numb, but with ice powder to eat just right.
⚠️ The trail at the bottom of the valley is slippery, wear non-slip shoes, do not wear sandals to go, I saw people slip and fall to pat pat.
04 Jiangmen City | Guangdong
The place of Kaiping Moat belongs to the category of "photos look average, go to know the value". I recommend you to enter Zili Village after 4pm, the setting sun tans the gray walls of the barracks into a warm orange, the wind blows in the rice fields, the rice ears rustle, the whole village is so quiet that it seems to be pressed down. Tickets cost seventy dollars, and you can see three open barracks, which still retain furniture and photos from that time. The stairs are so narrow that you can only pass one person. 📷 Photo spot Don't crowd with others under the big banyan tree at the entrance of the village. Walk to the lotus pond at the end of the village. With the barracks as the background, you can still take beautiful photos when there are few people.
⚠️ There are no decent restaurants in the village, only a few small stalls selling tofu and cool noodles. If you want to eat a regular meal, go to Tongkou Town and drive for ten minutes. The yellow eel rice and goose there are very authentic. If you bring the elderly, don't arrange too many floors to climb. It's enough to see two buildings. The stairs are really steep.
05 Xiamen City | Fujian
Gu Lang Yu is really less crowded now, provided you don't go up to the island from San Chi Tin Pier.
🚄 I suggest you enter from Nei Cuo Au Pier, the crowd is less than half, get off the boat on Penshan Road, full walls of bougainvillea and old villas, casually turning into an alley is like walking into a Republic of China movie.
⏰ Go to the island at 8:30 am, first stroll the Sunlight Rock, take advantage of the sun is not so poisonous, climb to the top can see the whole island of the red roof and the sea in the distance. Don't eat seafood on the island at noon. It's expensive and ordinary. Go to Lung Tau Road and eat a bowl of Sha Cha Noodles. The soup is so rich that it hangs your mouth. Add a portion of fried five spices for $30. In the afternoon, we went to the Railway Culture Park, just outside the island. The abandoned old railway tracks were planted with bougainvillea on both sides. In the evening, the light slanted through, the shadow of the railway tracks stretched to a long time, and it was much more beautiful to take pictures than those celebrity walls on Gulangyu Island.
🍜The vegetarian cakes from Nanputuo Temple are worth buying, the mung bean filling is the most fragrant, fifteen dollars a box, take back as a souvenir will not be deceived.
⚠️ Go to Xiamen Garden and Botanical Garden after 2pm. The big cactus in the succulent area is beautiful under the sunset. You can't open your eyes when you go to the sun at noon.
06 Shangrao City | Jiangxi
Sanqingshan and Wuyuan are put together to play, it's that "one day in heaven, one day on earth" combination. Sanqingshan walk outside the Shuangxi Cableway up the mountain, rush directly to the West Coast Canyon, built on the cliff side of the flat road, one side of the sea of clouds and the other of the pine forest, the wind is strong enough to blow the hat away, but cool is really cool.
⏰ Go up the mountain at 7 am, before 11 pm you can finish the West Coast plus the Sunshine Coast, eat a sandwich on the mountain at noon, turn to Nanqing Garden in the afternoon to see the giant python out of the mountain, good physical strength to climb Yujing Peak, the whole process down five hours enough.
⚠️ There is a big temperature difference in the mountains. Even in August, you have to bring a thin windbreaker. When the fog comes, you will feel the temperature drop sharply. The next day to Wuyuan Yuling, don't just see the autumn sun, walk inside to Shuikou Forest, the ancient forest covers the sky, the stream flows out from the stone seams, sitting on the bridge pier eating an ice cream bar, than at the observation deck people forced to feel much more comfortable. If you can not go to Jiangwan and Kufeng if time is tight, Huangling plus Sanqingshan is the soul of this line.
07 Mudanjiang City | Heilongjiang
The coolness of Mirrorbo Lake is "the dry and cool of the north", which is completely different from the wet and cold of the south.
📍The main scenic area to see the Waterfall, every day at 10 am and 2 pm there is a diving performance, people jump from the cliff more than 20 meters high into the Black Dragon Pool, the water splash exploded at the moment, the surrounding people are all shouting. After seeing the waterfall, take a boat trip to the lake, the boat ticket is about 100 dollars, the lake wind blows with water vapor, the sun does not feel hot.
⏰ After 5:30 pm, the people in the scenic area walk almost, you walk north along the lakeside canyon, the lake is dyed golden yellow by the sunset, so quiet that you can hear the sound of water waves crashing on the shore.
🍜Leave the scenic spot to eat Korean cold noodles in Mudanjiang city, with pot-wrapped meat, cold noodle soup with ice balls, one bite down the whole person is energetic.
⚠️ Accommodation around Mirror Park Lake is expensive and ordinary, it is recommended to go back to the city to live, take a taxi for forty minutes, much higher value for money.
08 Xi'an City |Shaanxi
Summer in Xi’an is dry and hot, but smart people go out in the evening.
⏰ After 6 pm, rent a bicycle to ride around the city wall, the whole distance is 13.7 kilometers, pedal down for 40 minutes, the evening wind with the water of the moat blowing over, than during the day under the clock tower steam sauna comfortable 10,000 times. Tickets for the city wall are $54, and a bicycle is rented for $45. It is recommended to ride from Yongning Gate to the east to Changle Gate. There are the fewest people in that section. The setting sun tans the city bricks into dark red, and the shadow drags very long. The next morning, get up early, go to the Qin Shihuang Terracotta Warriors and Horses Museum at 7:30, rush the first batch to enter, when there are few people in Pit 1 you can see the expression on the face of the pottery, until after 9:30 after the tour group kills in, you can only look at the back of the head.
🚄 Take Metro Line 9 from the city to Huaqingchi Station, then take a taxi over, which is much more free than following a day tour.
⚠️ Remember to make an appointment at the history museum three days in advance on the public account. If you can't grab the free tickets, buy a $30 ticket for the Jumbo Museum. You can still enter. Don't look for yellow bulls. The doors are all scammers.
🍜 In the evening, go to the golden bridge, do not force back to the main street of Min Street, turn into the alley of Dapiyuan, Lao Mijia steamed dumplings with ice peak soda, a bite of lamb soup into the stomach, this day is not wasted.
These 8 places, I sincerely think Hulunbuir and Sanqingshan are the most worthwhile, one treats the eyes and the other treats the lungs. Where are you planning to go in August? Let's talk in the comments section. I'll help you see if there's a scam.
