When Xu Xiake visited Yizhou, he toured this temple and described it in his travel notes. Xizhu Temple is located west of the city; the original site of Xizhu Temple is where the First People's Hospital of Hechi now stands. What we are visiting now is the "Sanmenyan Temple," which is actually Boyan Mountain in the Sanmenyan Scenic Area. It is only two kilometers from the city center, making it perfect for a daily outing. Xizhu Temple is built along the mountain, harmoniously blending architecture with nature. In spring, the trees are lush and shady. Today, April 13, the sky is overcast, and the air feels a bit stuffy, but here it feels especially comfortable. The air faintly carries the scent of mugwort, a strong fragrant aroma, along with hints of coffee and milk, which is very pleasant. Succulent plants are seen everywhere here, adding a touch of charm and leisure to the place. The peaks stand tall, with jagged rocks and unique caves. Wandering through the caves and Buddhist halls, both body and mind gradually relax. We also unexpectedly discovered a painting on a fenced area that turned out to be Santa Claus 🎅. This thousand-year-old ancient temple also displays many oddly shaped stones, which carry a Zen-like meaning. For friends who enjoy hiking, you definitely shouldn’t miss the latter part of the climb. The steps along the way are paved with oddly shaped mountain stones, which, compared to common cement steps, have a natural and wild charm. You truly experience how going up the mountain is easy but coming down is hard. The mountain is high and the path steep, so remember to wear comfortable shoes. If you happen to wear leather shoes, you’ll have to find an elderly lady in the city to polish them after descending. "All is nothing, only then do I know I am me." A sign hanging on the door reads "I am just me," which is also very Zen. This trip brought many unexpected surprises. With good lighting, photos come out beautifully too.

I walked halfway around the river; the karst landscape reflected in the evening breeze was so soothing! 🚗It's only a 1-hour high-speed train ride from Nanning to Hechi West Station.
