Kyushu Road Trip: Attack on Hita - Oyama Dam Attractions, Perfect for an August Road Trip
Travel Recommendations by Sisi: Kyushu Road Trip Spots 🚙💨👌🏻 Attack on Hita
On the second day of an 8-day, 7-night trip to Kyushu, we picked up a car in Fukuoka and headed to Hita City for a quick two-day, one-night visit. We enjoyed a hot spring trip and checked out the 'Attack on Titan in HITA ~ Attack on Hita ~' attractions. Hita City is the hometown of the author of Attack on Titan.
The local area has created 'Attack on Titan' themed attractions, including a giant-slaying AR game that combines maps and scenery, and statues of the main characters Eren, Mikasa, and Armin at the Oyama Dam (Oyama Damu), as well as an Attack on Titan museum.
The first must-see spot is the Oyama Dam statues. Gazing at the three young protagonists at the top of the reservoir, their fearful expressions vividly recreate the classic scene of the Titans attacking and breaking through Wall Maria.
The attraction has a free parking lot, making it very convenient for road trippers! For those using public transportation, you'll need to take a taxi to get there.

[Hita Authentic Charcoal Grilled Pork] Affordable and delicious, dinner costs about 7,000 yen
[#SiSikyan Enjoy the World] Hita's authentic charcoal barbecue 🥩🔥
Another accidental discovery of hidden barbecue restaurant 💁🏻♂️
Because staying at the hot spring hotel in Hita did not arrange one-night-two meals, I took a break after check-in and quickly went out to find a restaurant for dinner.
By Sunday, most restaurants were closed, with only a couple of izakayas still operating. After I looked at Google Maps, I randomly entered an izakaya with a rating of 4.5🏮
I didn't know that this is a great barbecue restaurant! After I entered and sat down, I ordered two glasses of wine and slowly saw what I wanted to eat.
It turns out that this restaurant is a family-run, very warm little shop. The a la carte price of meat is quite cheap, starting from 800yen. I ordered a total of 5 kinds of meat, including the best wagyu beef.
After eating, the dinner consumption for two was about 7000yen, which is super good value for money!
This hidden barbecue restaurant is really great! If you have a chance to come to Hita, you must try it!
Food recommendations
🌟Wagyu beef ¥1000
🌟Beef starts from ¥800
🌟Pork from ¥550
🌟Chicken from ¥550
Dinner Total ¥7000 (approx.)

【#思思仙五月世界】Hita’s secret place in the hidden world! HKD$7XX per person to enjoy private hot spring hotel 🛁
【#思思仙困世界】Hita’s secret place in the hidden world! HKD$7XX per person to enjoy private hot spring hotel 🛁
Experience the hidden secrets of Hita and enjoy a peaceful and comfortable vacation 🛁🌿
The Caffel Hinanosato (caffel ひなのさと) I stayed at this time is located in Hita, a quiet rural town with a long history, culture and special food. Although this hot spring hotel is relatively old, its renovated lobby and public areas attract many young travelers.
Room experience 🏡
We booked the Japanese Style Presidential Suite Villa with Open-Air Bath, which is an oversized Japanese-style room with a private bath and an extra-large terrace. Although the design is slightly traditional, it is spacious and has beautiful river views. The mini bar in the room serves UCC coffee and green tea for free, which makes people feel very considerate.
Hotel facilities 🏞️
As soon as you enter the hotel, you have a home and cafe feel. There is instant coffee and cookies in the lobby. After ordering a cup of coffee, you can soak your feet in the outdoor foot bath facilities and admire the sparkling river and rolling mountains. It is very relaxing.
The public space on the second floor has a game room with a large number of Japanese comics, so you can relax while reading comics. There's also a TV nook for watching Netflix and YouTube, there's even a football machine, and the whole games room was designed by Snow Peak and is so cute.
The third floor is a large bathhouse with separate baths for men and women. The massage chairs in the lounge can be used for free, and there are also hammocks, which is very interesting.
Vinyl music paradise 🎶
The hotel lobby is divided into indoor and outdoor areas. The indoor area has a music corner and a coffee corner with a large collection of vinyl records! You can choose your favorite music to play, then order a cup of coffee at the coffee corner and enjoy free coffee time and cookie placement🍪☕️. There are foot bath facilities in the outdoor area. It is very relaxing to enjoy a foot bath with your significant other while enjoying the scenery on a rainy day.
Dining experience 🍽️
The hotel's breakfast is included in the room rate and is served in the restaurant on the second floor. Cafe-style Japanese cuisine, the ingredients are very fresh, and with a cup of coffee, you can enjoy a peaceful morning.
Notes ⚠️
It should be noted that the hotel's check-out time is earlier at 10 o'clock. In addition, self-driving travelers should note that there are few parking lots, and there may be no parking spaces if you check in too late.
Summary 🌟
Caffel Hinanosato is a cost-effective hot spring hotel suitable for travelers who want to enjoy a peaceful vacation. For only HKD$7XX per person, you can stay at a private hot spring hotel. It’s definitely worth a try!

A must-see suburban tour during your Fukuoka trip!
There were many suburbs such as Dazaifu, Yufuin, and Beppu,
but I wanted to visit Hita the most,
so I chose the Indigo Travel Bus Tour,
which is the only one that visits 'Hita'.
Not only that, Indigo Travel Bus Tour
departs earlier than other companies,
and the first destination is Yufuin, not Dazaifu!
Thanks to this,
I was able to leisurely look around and take pictures without overlapping with other tourists,
which was the biggest merit.
Hita, a small Japanese town like a fairy tale♡
Hakata. Tenjin 2 nights 3 days shopping and eating to my heart's content and on the last day
Since my flight was in the evening, I left the city and went to the small city of Hita
The weather was really artistic... You can get off at Tenjin Terminal for Hita
You can even choose to bundle a bicycle set, so I chose the bicycle bundle~(3980 yen)
The road from the city to Hita is so pretty ㅠㅠ
There weren't many people, so after arriving at Hita, I rode a bicycle and went around here and there ♥The wind was cool and I was happy with that Japchae.....
For those of you who have an evening flight on the last day
You should definitely visit
HITA, a town like a fairy tale
There's also a mart, so it's good to buy some last minute beer and snacks ㅎㅎ

The moment when I exit the train, there were cut out of characters from the manga along the station. The manga also had an anime adaptation. There is a statue of captain Levi near the rest area. The town also sells merchandise that features Attack on Titan. From slipper to tumbler, there is also beer with the characters. This place is less crowded compared to other places in Japan.
Recommended course for Hita Brewery in Hita, a small city near Fukuoka, Sapporo

❇️Fukuoka Small City Hita Travel Itinerary
How to get there: How to get there by rental car and bus tour day trip recommendation
⭐️Reason for recommendation: If you are going to Fukuoka, I recommend 'Hita' as a trip near a small Japanese city. This place, called 'Little Kyoto' due to the development of commerce during the Edo period, is famous for its clean water.
Attractions: Sapporo Beer Brewery, Hita Kuncho Brewery
⭐️Reason for recommendation
✔️ Sapporo Brewery is included in the bus tour and is a free tour, so it is easy to look around the history room and goods shop.
✔️ Hita's Kuncho Brewery is also a place worth visiting. It was fun to see the Kuncho Brewery house that has been around since the Edo period and various local sake.
⭐️Recommended food & restaurants
Hita is famous for eel rice bowl. Usually, people go to 'Senya' a lot, but to avoid waiting, I went to 'Kurodaya'.
The eel rice bowl at Hita 'Kurodaya' was also very delicious and the Google rating is good, so I recommend you go.

A famous eel rice bowl restaurant in Hita, near Fukuoka
📍Hitamabushi Senya
4-14 Mamedamachi, Hita, Oita 877-0005 Japan
It's a small town, but if there's a restaurant with a waiting line!? That's proof that it's a great restaurant. Today's Hita restaurant. This is the kind of place it is. The food that will welcome you is 'Eel Donburi'.
It's not your ordinary 'Eel Donburi'. It's a dish that originated from Nagoya's traditional food 'Hitsumabushi'. It's a dish that puts white rice in a round 'wooden tub' and tops it with finely chopped grilled eel. The 'Eel Donburi' in one tub is divided into four parts. You can enjoy each with a different taste.

Forest Secret Hideaway Hotel, a different experience with the rhythm of the four seasons
🌈Theme Features: The leading secret hot spring hotel. Enjoy a unique experience hidden deep in the jungle. 👍👍👍
🏘️Room Type/Layout: The rooms are very spacious, and all have a private hot spring balcony. Can you imagine what a wonderful experience it would be to come here in winter, enjoy the dining hall, and embrace the unbeatable mountain view opposite?
🧹Soundproofing/Cleanliness: As a high-end Japanese-style hotel, the environmental cleanliness goes without saying.
🎯Entertainment Facilities: The only regret is the lack of some other facilities. And the public bath will not be open until July.
💰️Average Cost: 2500
💗Other tips: Although the price is a bit expensive, the rooms and the accompanying dining are really a perfect enjoyment, which seems to make the cost-performance ratio quite good.
‘Kurodaya’, a famous eel rice bowl restaurant in Hita🍲
#OverseasFlightEvent #JapaneseEelDonburi #JapaneseRestaurant
This place, ‘Kurodaya’, where I ran to eat my first eel donburi in Japan
This place had a lot of parking space and was a house that seemed to have a long tradition.
The interior had warm sunlight shining on the wooden floor. The feeling of the space itself expressing ‘warmth’.
🔹‘Kurodaya’ is usually popular with group tourists, so it was quite large. Even though I felt that there were quite a few seats, there were often waiting lines.
⭐️‘Kurodaya’s’ main menu is eel donburi, but they also have grilled dishes and other menus. Also, the eel donburi in the wooden steamer usually has a lot of eel, so if you want to eat a lot of eel, I recommend it, and if you want to eat less, you can order it in a bowl.
⭐️Green tea is really delicious in Japan. I think it’s because of the culture of eating ‘ochazuke’. It’s a dish where you pour green tea on rice and eat it with other things. If you ask for a separate bowl, it is delicious to put some rice in it and pour green tea water over it.

Japan Travel 'Hita' 300-year-old Kuncho Brewery Sake Tasting Place🍶
#OverseasFlightEvent #KunchoSakeBrewery #PlacesToVisitInJapan
🔹As the city of water, Hita has a brewery worth seeing. It is the 'KunchoSakeBrewery' that has been around since the Edo period and boasts a history of about 300 years.
Personally, if you like sake, I think it is a place worth stopping by during your trip to Hita.
And this 'KunchoSakeBrewery' offers free tastings of several sakes, so if you are curious about the taste of sake, it is a must-see!
The history of the KunchoSakeBrewery is explained at the entrance, and the entire building with history is shown.
It is said that five of the storage buildings built in 1702 are well preserved in their original form, making it a historically valuable place.
⭐️It is a local sake made from 100% Hita rice from Oita Prefecture, so I recommend buying it as a souvenir and drinking it at your accommodation!

Explore the less-traveled paths in Hita, Japan
☀️ A local delicacy in Hita is 'Hita Yakisoba,' which features crispy fried noodles complemented by the refreshing crunch of bean sprouts. The taste is quite delightful. There are also famous beverages crafted from the local groundwater, including beer, sake, and shochu. Many breweries in Hita offer tours, such as the 'Sapporo Beer Kyushu Hita Factory,' 'Lichiko Hita Shochu Distillery,' and a sake cellar museum located in Mamedamachi that dates back to the Edo period, where you can immerse yourself in the rich aroma of alcohol.
☀️ As evening approaches, restaurants begin to light up, and under the blue twilight sky, a hazy orange glow beckons, promising a table of heartwarming delicacies waiting for us.
Hita, a lesser-known travel destination in Japan
☀️ Hita City preserves a significant number of cultural properties and historical sites: the 'Ono no Komachi Tenman-gu,' one of the few remaining Muromachi period buildings in Kyushu, a Kamakura period garden, 'Hita Shrine,' a farmhouse residence built 250 years ago, the Edo period 'Gyokutei Residence,' and the Meiji period 'Seikei Library,' among others. During the Edo period, Hita was established as an important administrative center. The historical relics that have been preserved from the past to the present are scattered throughout Hita, making the entire town a museum.
☀️ The Mikuma River at sunset is so beautiful, with the golden sunset casting its light on old houses, leaves, and the water's surface, marking the sun's final splendor before it sets.

👣A must-visit museum for Attack on Titan fans👣
📍 Attack on Titan Museum Annex
✔️ 〒877-0054 Oita, Hita, Takase, 6979 Inside the Support Building Kyushu Nitta Koujo Building
When you go to the Attack on Titan exhibition in Hita, many people go to the main building near the Hita Attack on Titan dam statue. It's far from Hita Station, so it's hard for people like me who walk a lot and can't afford to spend more than 30,000 won on a taxi. This time, the annex, Attack on Titan in Hita museum ANNEX, has been newly built. The distance is cut in half, so it's about a 45-minute walk from Hita Station, and if you go by bike, it'll be half the time. The admission fee is 700 yen for those 18 years of age or older, and when you enter, they play a 5-minute video in the video room, which is really the best. The video is projected on three sides, and it's magnificent. There are no Hita tourist products or anything like that, only Attack on Titan goods.

Somewhere to recharge your soul when you’re on a trip
A local cultural hub that cannot be missed. A hybrid of retail shop, cafe and what’s more - a tiny local cinema. It’s the perfect place for authentic chats with local and if you’re lucky enough, you may even bump into gigs featuring local or overseas artistes.
When it comes to Japanese hot springs, you can't help mention Kyushu. Especially in Oita Prefecture, there are several famous hot spring towns.
Hotel Experience
This spa hotel has a total of only 32 rooms, each with a large and charming space. Building materials are widely used in Hita's building materials, allowing visitors to enjoy the unique style of Meizhi Township.
24 hour lobby lounge, free coffee, sencha, and night snacks throughout the day. At the end of the soup, it is very comfortable to drink hot tea here.
hot spring hotel, the highlight is eating, bathing and sleeping.
Mei Xiang's hot springs, in addition to the private soup in the house, need to pay for the loan cut, the most famous is the public bath green treasure and green axis.
Two baths are used alternately for men and women, so one night, you can experience the beauty of each of the two hot springs.
In the morning, the smoke in the valley is clouded with rain. People soak in the open-air soup pool, a cold and a heat is a wonderful contrast.
A mountain breeze blew, the fog was soaring, and the looming sound of the valley was always unable to see the whole picture.
In fact, people have become part of the smoke and rain ink paintings. This kind of beauty and quietness, at this time, it is only for me to enjoy.
Hita was the territory of the Edo shogunate in the Edo period, and the local houseboats were a tool for the nobility to travel and entertain in the Edo period. Today's houseboats have been modernized on the basis of the traditional houseboat style, and the general fare includes a sumptuous meal. Boat owners and staff will also wear traditional costumes, and boarding the ship is like crossing the Edo period. Sanyagawa's houseboat visitors can dine on the houseboat and watch the fishing show! But remember to make an appointment. We just have to make a photo because there is no appointment. z
Although there are many machichos in the Edo period in Kyoto, there is always a lot of people going to the sea. In fact, in Hita City, Oita Prefecture, Kyushu, there is also a Bean Town, which is called Kyoto.
It is said that the old-fashioned drains and the streets like Gossboard are used throughout the town. The whole town area reflects the rich cultural color of the Edo era castles. Visitors seem to return to the Edo period 300 to 400 years ago. Experience the life of people at that time.
Dututani's business district has wine shops, soy sauce shops, specialty hand-made souvenir shops, and sheep-tasting dessert shops. It takes two hours to stroll here, take pictures, and people are less fresh and comfortable.
Kyushu is the home of Japanese hot springs. The highlight of this trip is naturally hot springs. The driver sent by the hotel has been waiting for a long time, taking us along the Sanchachuan all the way to the south, to the hot spring hotel Karatu Japanese-style hotel on the edge of the mountain.
The hotel is in a forest. No matter how bright the sun is outside, there is a deep Zen. The entire courtyard, only heard by the singer, is very private. The first second into the room, I was attracted by the scene inside the house. The windows are open and breezy, and the hotel is next to a small river. The river is not wide, the water flow rate is very fast, and the water is rumbling. Its a good idea to think that you can sleep in the evening! The spacious room and the table and chairs have been set up on the Japanese tatami. Welcome to the hotel's homemade Hita Taro. It is said to be a steamed bun. In fact, it is more similar to the foreign fruit. It is also filled with red bean stuffing, a sweet bite, and a kind of happy taste.
In order to be able to spend a leisure time in the hotel, we have booked two meals in advance. This is the most authentic way to play in Japan's hot springs, called "one poise and two foods." Stay overnight and enjoy breakfast and dinner at the same time. In order to attract tourists, the food at this hotel can be quite painstaking. Every table meal, in addition to fully calling your taste system, also has a sense of vision, smell, touch, and even hearing together.
At night, the beautiful and beautiful hot springs, the whole person is refreshing, breathing oxygen and water vapor, the happiness index will soar!
