A Mysterious Emerald Blue Spring.
Izumi Shrine in Hitachi City, Ibaraki Prefecture, is one of the Kanto region's premier spiritual power spots, famous for its "mysterious emerald blue spring"✨
⛩️ The History of Izumi Shrine: Where the Mystical Spring Flows
Izumi Shrine is an incredibly ancient shrine, with legends stating it was founded around 42 B.C. (over 2,000 years ago)⏳
Said to be the oldest shrine in the Hitachi region, it has drawn worshippers since ancient times.
The enshrined deity is Amanohayatamahime-no-Mikoto✨
Revered as a "symbol of pure water," it is believed that the shrine's spring itself is the deified form of this goddess.
This deeply historic site even appears in the *Hitachi-no-Kuni Fudoki*, an ancient historical text from the Nara period📜
Since long ago, it has been a "sacred oasis" where people would gather, pray, and connect.
💎 Why It's Called a Power Spot
What truly makes Izumi Shrine special is the spring water in the "Izumi-ga-Mori" forest within the shrine grounds🌿
💧 Crystal-clear water bubbling up from deep underground
💧 A mysterious, glowing emerald green color
💧 An abundant flow, churning out thousands of tons of water every single day
Selected as one of the "100 Famous Spring Waters of the Heisei Era," it is said that simply gazing at this spring will purify your soul✨
Furthermore, it offers a wide range of blessings, such as:
💗 Matchmaking and love
💰 Good fortune and business prosperity
🌊 Maritime safety and bountiful catches
It is especially popular as a spiritual hotspot for boosting your luck in love💕
Recently, the "Senryuboku"—a sacred tree that looks just like a dragon—has also become a hot topic. Many visitors truly feel that this is a "place where powerful energy dwells"🐉
🚃 Access Info
Another great perk is how accessible it is for travelers👇
🚆 By Train
・About a 10–15 minute walk from Omika Station on the JR Joban Line
🚗 By Car
・About a 15-minute drive from the Hitachi-Minami-Ota IC on the Joban Expressway
・Free parking available
At just about an hour and a half from Tokyo, it makes for a perfect day trip✨
・Want to heal surrounded by nature🌳
・Want to visit a genuine spiritual power spot✨
・Want to boost your luck in love and overall fortune💖
・Want to see a photogenic, mystical landscape📸
If any of these sound like you, we highly recommend a visit!
Izumi Shrine is a truly unique destination that blends over 2,000 years of history with a mystical natural spring.
As you gaze into the emerald blue waters within the peaceful forest, you'll experience a wondrous sense of inner calm and clarity🌿
This isn't "just another tourist attraction," but a place where you can actually feel that "the very air is different." If you're ever in Ibaraki, this is an absolute must-visit spot.

Absolutely stunning! Hitachi Seaside Park's autumn-only red carpet
【Shocking! Kochia transforms into a "fiery red carpet"】
The national Hitachi Seaside Park in October is simply breathtaking!
Once a sea of blue hydrangeas in May,
it turns into a stunning ocean of fiery red in autumn.
This spectacular view made up of kochia bushes (コキア)
is wallpaper-worthy with every snap!✨
📍Address: 605-4 Hitachinaka, Ibaraki Prefecture, Japan
⏰Best viewing period: Mid-October (open this year until 11/5)
📸Photo tips:
✔️Use a wide-angle lens for an epic panorama
✔️A telephoto lens captures delicate details beautifully
✔️Be sure to visit on a sunny day! (It’s heartbreaking when cloudy)
🌼【Hidden gem: Autumn-only flower sea】
Besides the popular kochia,
autumn cosmos flowers (コスモス) are also great for photos!
Recommended to use a telephoto lens
to capture the dreamy, hazy feel of the flower sea~
🚉【Stop by on the way: Hitachi Station Observation Deck】
Just a 15-minute drive from the park!
This station, known as the "Pacific Ocean Viewing Window,"
is breathtaking at sunrise🌅
Glass platform + unbeatable ocean view = a magical photo spot
🌅【Nanny-level tips】
✅Arrive before 6 AM (fewer people and beautiful light)
✅Wear light-colored clothes for better photos
✅Remember to bring a jacket (the seaside wind is strong)
💭PS: Catching the sunrise really takes luck...
I missed the perfect sunrise this time,
leaving a memory for next time~

SEA BiRDS CAFE@Ibaraki Hitachi
In 2017, I went to Ibaraki Prefecture. After visiting the Hitachi Seaside Park, I also visited Hitachi Station in Ibaraki Prefecture, which is known as the most beautiful station in the world, and had afternoon tea at SEA BiRDS CAFÉ in the station.
The sky was cloudy on the day of the visit, so I couldn't see the most beautiful view of the Pacific Ocean.
Waffle House didn't make a reservation in advance and was unable to sit in the best seat by the window.
For drinks, my mother ordered Cappuccino (450 yen/about HK$32), which was of good quality. For waffles, I ordered White Hojicha Latte (580 yen/about 40 Hong Kong dollars). It looked good, but unfortunately it was made with tea bags, so the roasted tea flavor was very light, which was a bit disappointing.
Original Pancake (850 yen/about 60 HKD) is here. In addition to the pancake, there are bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs and salad. The whole thing is delicious and the price is very reasonable.

[Glass station suspended in the Pacific Ocean]- Japan's most beautiful seaside station
[Glass station suspended in the Pacific Ocean] - Japan's most beautiful waterfront station: Hitachi Station
# I miss the scenery of Japan because it is so spectacular.
Hitachi Station, located in Ibaraki Prefecture, Japan, is a legendary station suspended in the Pacific Ocean and is a popular photo spot. After exiting the gate, head towards the east exit and you can see the sea and sky up close.
There is also a cafe - Sea Birds Cafe, where eating is like eating in the sea center. But the cafe is not big, if you want to eat you have to queue earlier.
Access: JR Viridian Line - Hitachi Station East Exit

A trip to Ibaraki - it felt like being on the sea
I went on a trip to Ibaraki.
First, I headed to Hitachi Station.
I left in the morning and arrived around noon, and as planned, I was able to have lunch at a restaurant called "Seabirds Cafe."
It's a stylish cafe directly connected to the station! From a distance, it looks like it's right on the sea (*゚▽゚*)
I relaxed at the counter seats, drinking coffee ☕️

📍 Seabirds Cafe, Hitachi Station
I really wanted to go to Hitachi Station, so I took a trip there!
The weather was cloudy, but the sunset was incredibly beautiful~🌇
Apparently, the sunrise is even more beautiful.
I went around 6 PM on a weekday, and there were only a few other groups there, so it was quiet and I was able to enjoy my meal in peace.
I think the view would be beautiful on a sunny day!
The pancakes were incredibly fluffy and had bananas in them; they were delicious!

Let's go eat fresh seafood at a famous market in Ibaraki Prefecture, Japan 🇯🇵
🌟 Hitachi Fish Center (or Michi no Eki Hitachi Osakana Center in Japanese) is a famous rest stop and fresh fish market in Hitachi City, Ibaraki Prefecture, located near Kuji Fishing Port.
🌟 Tourists flock here to enjoy fresh seafood directly from the local fishermen at the port, resulting in affordable prices and a wide variety of choices.
🌟 Here, you can buy fresh seafood such as scallops, abalone, shrimp, squid, and fish, and have it grilled over charcoal right in front of you. The shop has seating and charcoal grills provided. I personally loved the atmosphere; it was warm and cozy, like having a meal at a friend's house.
⏰ Open daily from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
✅ Parking, restrooms, and shops are located near the entrance.

The most beautiful train station: Hitachi Station, Ibaraki Prefecture
Trains to Hitachi Station in Ibaraki Prefecture run approximately every hour, with limited express trains connecting Iwaki in Fukushima and Shinagawa in Tokyo.
Since this sea view location faces east, the only way to see the sunrise is to stay at a hotel near Hitachi Station the night before.
There is a coffee shop inside the train station, but it's always crowded, making it difficult to take good photos of the scenery.

2026 Kamine Park Spring Festival
Kamine Park in Ibaraki Prefecture offers a vibrant spring experience, especially during cherry blossom season. The park is home to about 1,000 cherry trees and is one of Japan's top 100 cherry blossom viewing spots. Visitors can enjoy various attractions, including a zoo, amusement facilities, and a swimming pool, making it ideal for families and groups. Admission fees vary depending on the activities chosen. The best time to see the cherry blossoms in full bloom is usually early April, when the park transforms into a sea of pink flowers. Kamine Park is about a 10-minute taxi or bus ride from Hitachi Station on the JR Joban Line. For those driving, the park is conveniently located near the Hitachi Chuo Interchange on the Joban Expressway. Visitors can look forward to a relaxing, picturesque atmosphere perfect for spring outings, photography, and family fun. The combination of natural beauty and entertainment facilities makes Kamine Park a popular destination for spring visits and creating unforgettable memories.

Ibaraki Trip (Mito, Hitachi, Nakaminato, Kasama)
Day 1: Spectacular Views and Sweets in Kasama
Start with a trip to the Ishikiri Mountains, a scenic spot in the Inada area of Kasama City. From the public viewing area, you can enjoy panoramic views of the lake and rock cliffs from the observation deck. If you're lucky, you might even experience the atmosphere of a location used for special effects and music videos. If you have time, we recommend taking a premium tour in a private car to the mining site in the distance, experiencing the rock face and the impressive "lake not on a map" up close. The on-site cafe also offers sweets like Mont Blanc made with Kasama's famous chestnuts, so you can fully enjoy the spectacular stone scenery and a sweet break.
Day 2: Ocean and Power Spots in Hitachi
We recommend traveling to the Hitachi Station area the day before and staying overnight. Watch the sunrise from the Hitachi Station Coast Exit, where you can see the Pacific Ocean through the glass-walled station building.
If you have time, we also recommend stopping by Oiwa Shrine to soothe yourself in the deep forest and sacred "Sanbonsugi" (three cedars).
Before Noon: Seafood Lunch in Nakaminato
Head to Nakaminato Fish Market by train or car.
The vibrant atmosphere of this port town will instantly lift your spirits. Inside the market, you'll find a lineup of renowned seafood bowls and nigiri sushi restaurants using local fish, offering hearty sushi topped with fatty tuna, sea urchin, and even salmon roe at reasonable prices.
Recommended Restaurants
・Nakaki ~Yorokobi MINATO Bistro~
・Minato-ryu Takoyaki Souhonke
・Confectionery Workshop SAKABA (Sakaba Seika)
Afternoon: Art Stroll in Mito
Mito city is home to many art-related facilities, so you can enjoy a short art stroll around the museums and modern architecture.
In the evening, enjoy monkfish dishes, a local specialty. While hot pot is famous, I personally recommend the fried chicken.
Recommended Restaurants
・Tenmasa Restaurant
Day 3: A Historical Stroll in Mito
On your final day, experience Mito's history. Early mornings at Kairakuen Garden are quiet and offer a relaxing time.

Sacred Springs & Sky-High Bridges: A Morning in Hitachi
#hellohalloween
Our journey through the Hitachi area began with a peaceful visit to Izumi Shrine—said to be the oldest shrine in the region. Nestled in a lush forest, the grounds feel serene and untouched. What makes this place truly magical is the crystal-clear spring water that flows from the earth. The shimmering blue of the spring is almost unreal, and it’s easy to see why it’s known as a sacred spot.
After paying our respects at the shrine, we made a short stop at Ryujin Suspension Bridge. We didn’t cross this time, but the view alone was worth it. Colorful carp streamers (koinobori) danced in the wind, adding a festive touch to the dramatic valley landscape. Fun fact: you can actually go bungee jumping here if you’re feeling brave!

🌅 Ocean Views Worth Waking Up For: SEA BiRDS CAFE & JR Hitachi Station
#hellohalloween
For our day trip to Ibaraki, we started bright and early with one goal in mind—visiting the stunning JR Hitachi Station and its iconic SEA BiRDS CAFE. The station itself is a work of art, with an all-glass facade that opens up to an endless ocean view. The moment you step into the observation space, you’re greeted by waves and sky. Even the design of the benches adds to the serene, minimalist beauty. It must be breathtaking at sunset too!
We arrived at 8AM (the café opens at 7AM), and it was already packed—with a waitlist in place. It’s definitely a popular local spot, so we recommend going early if you want a seat with the view. The panoramic windows let you sip your coffee with the sea stretching right in front of you—an unforgettable start to the day.

This amusement park is located in Miyata-cho, Hitachi City, Ibaraki Prefecture.
It's not too crowded, even on weekends, so it's fun.
It's not exactly the most cutting-edge facility, but it's packed with rides, rest areas, and restaurants, so I think it's a fun place to visit.

188 Gods in One Place!? Oiwa Shrine in Ibaraki Prefecture
🗺️Address🗺️
Oiwa Shrine
752 Irirokemachi, Hitachi City, Ibaraki Prefecture
Parking🚗 There are parking lots from P1 to P4, accommodating a large number of vehicles! Parking is free of charge.
This shrine is famous for its spiritual significance, with stories about a pillar of light visible from space✨. I visited early in the morning, so there weren’t many people, but as the shrine office opened, more visitors started to gather, making it lively⭐.
This time, I also prepared to climb Mount Oiwa! Although I arrived early, it’s important to take proper precautions against the heat💦. While it’s somewhat cooler, it’s still summer, so it gets quite hot.

The best place I visited in Ibaraki
Is there a place in Ibaraki that you think was the best to visit, especially since it's just a two-hour train ride from Tokyo? 🥺
While preparing for my trip to Ibaraki, I researched many places ✍🏻
This particular spot was one of the must-visit locations I had on my list 🪄
What made me most excited about it was the expansive windows offering views of the North Pacific Ocean, along with reasonably priced brunch and coffee that made the experience even better ✨
If you're looking for a cost-effective small city near Tokyo, I highly recommend visiting Ibaraki 💕

[Ibaraki] If you want to try the famous melon sweets, this is the place!
#AbsolutelyFreeTrip
I'm definitely going to try some melons on my trip to Ibaraki! 🍈 I found some affordable melon sweets! 🤍
Introducing "Hitachi Wayougashi Ichikawa," a takeout specialty shop!!
Ibaraki is known for its melons. 🍈 I was looking for a place to eat some melon, and I found a super cute pastry shop! 🤍
The shop is cute, too! 🤍 And of course, the sweets are cute, too! 🤍
Their flavors are simply exquisite! 🤍 They were so good I ended up stopping by twice, on the way there and back! ☺️
They offer both large and small sizes of whole melons, but you have to get there early to get the small ones. Be careful, you might run out of stock! 🥲
Not only are they selling the Marugoto series, but their tarts are also delicious! 🤍 Their baked goods and Japanese sweets are also popular! ✨
If it was in my neighborhood, I'd go there every week! 🍰🍡🍪💕
It's on my list of places to visit again when I visit Ibaraki! ️📝

[Ibaraki] The most powerful power spot!! If you use a photo of the spring water as your wallpaper🤍
#AbsolutelyFreeTrip
A beautiful emerald green spring🫧 I would like to introduce "Izumigamori" located at the back of the temple grounds, as it is a very mysterious spring!!
It was featured on TV last year, but do you know "Izumi Shrine" in Ibaraki Prefecture?
This place is known as a power spot for matchmaking, known only to those in the know. 🤍
It is said that 1,500 liters of spring water gushes out every minute. ✨
It is said that if you set a picture of the spring as your mobile phone wallpaper, you will meet someone special. ✨
The "dragon driftwood" that was a hot topic last year is also a must-see in the upper left of the spring. 🐉 Please go and pray there. 🫧

I don't know about anything else here in Japan, but the sunrise...
I often travel to small cities in Japan, but this is the first time I've seen a sunrise as beautiful as this one.
Especially, the thrill of seeing the sunrise while going down the escalator is unbelievable. 😲
If you go up the escalator again, there's a cafe. If you have brunch at that cafe, it's a perfect way to start the morning. 😊
