#wecreate After a night stay at the Holiday Park in Hokitika, we decided to join a workshop before heading to Kaikuora. send our request in wee hour but was greeted in the morning upon our request. the owner , not sure is he a Maori, his laughter really will catch your attention. hahaha. if you got 2 hour or more to spend, do book a slot to design, select and hands on do a special one yourself. i carve my dog shape using qaua, the other using bone. from drawing to cutting out on paper then trace on the shell/bone/stone then using the machine to carve it shape, the teacher will show and finalise with a string for you.

Unlike the usual big tourist attraction of New Zealand, the Hokitika Gorge walk is a rather new walk located in the West Coast of South Island, New Zealand. It is an easy one hour stroll through native bush which can be done by everyone. If you’re visiting West Coast of New Zealand, be sure not to miss out on a visit to Hokitika Gorge. The surreal turquoise blue waters of the Hokitika River drains from the distant Sale glacier, tucked away above 1219 metres high in the Southern Alps.
