Notes
It is recommended to choose the summer season (mid-to-late May to mid-September) to complete the full itinerary. Before departing, please check the official websites of each attraction for daily opening hours, last admission times, and ticket information. The Alaska Native Heritage Center offers a free shuttle in the summer; please check the schedule in advance.
The core of Day 2 is the Wildlife Conservation Center and Portage Glacier. The Alyeska tram is optional; if the cruise ends late, it is recommended to return directly. There are few restaurants along the Seward Highway, so it is recommended to prepare a packed lunch in advance. There is a risk of bear and moose encounters at Flattop Mountain; please hike with a partner, carry bear spray, and make noise. It is windy at the summit, and temperatures are usually significantly lower than in the city, so wearing layered clothing is recommended.
Ride-sharing is unreliable outside of downtown Anchorage. For suburban attractions like the Wildlife Conservation Center and Flattop Mountain, it is recommended to rent a car or book transportation in advance. Day 1 ends early, so you can freely arrange to visit the coastal trail to watch the sunset in the evening or enjoy a seafood dinner at a downtown restaurant. Summer days are very long and the weather is changeable, so please be prepared with a windbreaker, sunscreen, and mosquito repellent.
