[Chiba Prefecture] Ichihara City - A city where nature and culture blend together
#0yentravelJanuary2025
🔥Recommended points
About an hour by car from Tokyo 🚘 Recommended for a weekend day trip! An attractive city where nature and culture blend together. Abundant tourist spots and leisure facilities!
~Travel record~
🏛️Ichihara Lakeside Museum
It was just the time for changing the exhibition, so there were few works to see, but there were few people and I was able to take my time looking around.
The object on Lake Takataki can be viewed from the lake terrace?
☕Hirai Coffee
Apparently it was introduced on King's Brunch. The hamburger with plenty of cheese was delicious!
🏫MUJI BASE OIKAWA (former Oikawa Elementary School)
Apparently it's a facility where you can stay at MUJI, renovated from an abandoned school! I happened to find it and visited. There was a MUJI store, a space where you can play table tennis, badminton, basketball, etc.! It seems that you can also do workcation. The stars floating in the night sky were just beautiful 🌟

📍Cafe Club Big One
A hidden cafe in the mountains of Boso♡
The hamburgers here are famous for their deliciousness, so this time I went to eat a hamburger Hamburger🍔
✏︎Big One Burger 1,780 yen
The bread was crispy, the patty was meaty, and it was delicious with plenty of volume♡
There are few seats to eat inside the store, so I ate on a bench outside♪
I recommend it because you can eat a delicious hamburger while relaxing in nature🍔
Please go on a nice day♪

The most recommended glamping in the Kanto region!! It was a former elementary school, so it was a different experience from regular glamping that you can only get here. The rooms were air-conditioned! If you've never stayed in a transparent tent, I recommend you try it out🔥

The elephants are so close it feels so real. Hula hoop. I'll even draw a picture.
I went twice before the pandemic, and it seemed like the dads were having more fun than the kids.
They kept asking me to take photos for them.
As the pandemic has calmed down a bit, I went during Golden Week.
The admission fee has gone up, but I think it's a little nicer and there are more animals.
The paintings have gotten better and there is more variety.
I recommend seeing the elephants who can play hula hoop and soccer.

Enjoy an artistic experience at a lakeside museum just 60 minutes by car from Tokyo
Ichihara Lakeside Museum is an art museum built next to the lake, overlooking Lake Takataki, the largest lake in Chiba Prefecture. There are artworks in the lake, and you can rent a boat🚣♀️ to see them up close.
It is a relaxing spot where parents and children can enjoy both indoor and outdoor art. #Museum tour #Spots for parents and children to enjoy #Instagrammable #Chiba sightseeing #minasol37

Kazusakubo Station where you can see the large ginkgo tree and the Kominato Railway at the same time
At Kazusakubo Station, marked by the large ginkgo tree,
there is a hotel directly connected to the station, or rather the platform!
If you sleep here, you can wake up and catch a train in 1 minute lol
※This is an art piece that you cannot actually stay at
It was also a great spot to see the large ginkgo tree and the Kominato Railway at the same time!

Cafe Kominato Waiting Room, right in front of the Kominato Railway
Kominato Waiting Room is located right next to Goi Station.
You can get a close-up view of the Kominato Railway from inside the store or from the terrace outside.
The store also sells very cute Kominato Railway goods.
You can also eat bread and sweets, so it's recommended for a short break.

Yoro Valley is one of Chiba Prefecture's leading hot spring areas, located almost in the center of the Boso Peninsula. The valley is dotted with several waterfalls and is also famous as a power spot. In the fall, it is crowded with many people who come to see the autumn leaves and waterfalls.
Kannon Bridge over the Yoro River leads upstream to Otaki Town, where several waterfalls can be seen.
A staircase leading from Kannon Bridge through a tunnel leads to the grounds of Rikkokuji Temple, which is about 20 to 30 meters higher than the bridge.
It is easily accessible from Tokyo, so you can definitely enjoy Chiba's hot springs.
Please come and visit us! !

A zoo that can be reached within an hour from Tokyo
It takes about an hour to get there from Tokyo on the Aqua Line.
Various animals such as capybaras, peacocks, and deer roam the zoo. You can feed them all.
There is also a place called Giraffe Terrace where you can feed the giraffes.
There is also wonderful accommodation within the zoo, so both adults and children can enjoy a fun holiday away from the big city.

The bamboo forest
We were able to experience glamping at a state-of-the-art facility in the middle of the forest,
and it was a wonderful experience.
There was also a zoo on the premises, which the kids loved.
Dinner was delicious, probably made with local ingredients.
We were also very satisfied with breakfast at Kirin Terrace.

A Guide to Exploring Niche Rapeseed Flower Fields.
Travel is always full of unpredictable moments.
When it comes to flower viewing, for instance, you always worry it might not live up to expectations before you arrive.
Fortunately, my trip to see the rapeseed flowers went quite smoothly,
although they weren't as densely packed as I had imagined,
there were still plenty of them 🥹
Location for viewing rapeseed flowers 🔽
"Itabu Station" in Chiba Prefecture,
a famous spot for rapeseed flowers along the Kominato Railway.
During spring (late March to early April), barring any unforeseen circumstances,
both sides of the platform will be blooming with yellow rapeseed flower fields.
Let's go enjoy some pastoral scenery next year 😌
🛤️ Transportation: Starting from Tokyo Station, take the JR Sobu Line Rapid to Chiba Station, transfer to the JR Uchibo Line to Goi Station, then transfer to the Kominato Railway and get off at "Itabu Station".

The food station has a Japanese drama feel to it 🥰 A slow-paced rural station 🚞
📍Itabu Station, located in Ichihara City, Chiba Prefecture,
is an unmanned station along the Kominato Railway Line. Though uncrowded, it exudes a romantic, rustic charm that makes you feel like you've stepped right into a scene from a Japanese drama.
There’s a cozy cafe right next to the retro railway tracks,
where my friend and I took shelter from the rain that day.
After we finished our afternoon tea, the owners even gifted us two umbrellas☔️ and wished us a wonderful trip.
As an unstaffed station on the Kominato Railway Line,
it perfectly preserves that pure, authentic countryside atmosphere.
With the train tracks extending through a lush forest tunnel,
it’s no wonder people describe it as a dreamy, hidden gem straight out of a Studio Ghibli film.
🛤️ How to get there: From Tokyo Station, take the JR Sobu Line Rapid to Chiba Station, transfer to the JR Uchibo Line to Goi Station, and then hop on the Kominato Railway, getting off at Itabu Station.
Great places to visit Chiba

A Spring Concerto of Deer Shadows and Cherry Blossoms: Strolling through Nara Park, Encountering the Most Gentle Sensory Feast
Nara Park is absolutely stunning! Every spring, it transforms into a dreamlike springtime wonderland, where blooming pink cherry blossoms intertwine with the leisurely strolling deer, creating a breathtaking scene. As petals gently fall on the breeze, brushing against the deer's expressions, the natural romance blends perfectly with Nara's profound cultural heritage, making you feel as if you've stepped into a tranquil dream.
Wandering through the park, every snapshot is a masterpiece: during the day, capture the beautiful cherry blossom tunnels, while at dusk, preserve the silhouettes of the deer, full of stories. Whether interacting closely with the deer, taking photos, or simply immersing yourself in the tranquility under the blossoming trees, Nara Park possesses a healing magic. This gentle springtime charm is worth experiencing for yourself, feeling the humanistic appeal of being far removed from the hustle and bustle, living in harmony with nature.

Chiba Ichihara City
I took a short trip to Chiba!
Ichihara Elephant Kingdom
As the name suggests, there were lots of elephants in the park!
Besides elephants, there were other animals in the park as well, and I had a really fun time being able to get close to them!
However, the entrance fee is quite high compared to other zoos, which is a bit of a drawback.
For lunch, I had tempura rice bowl at a restaurant called Yamayo.
It was very delicious and reasonably priced, so if I have the chance to go to Chiba again, I'd like to stop by again.
Getting around is quite difficult, so it might be tough without a car, but there are many other interesting spots to see, so I'm looking forward to it!

Yoro Keikoku (Yōrō Keikoku), known as 'Kanto's secret spot for the latest autumn leaves,'
features a tapestry of red, yellow, and gold from late November to early December each year, lasting for about two weeks. Night illumination from 17:00 to 21:00 casts lights on the autumn leaves and waterfalls, creating a dreamlike atmosphere. Key highlights include Awamata no Taki (Awamata Falls), Chiba Prefecture's largest waterfall with a 30m drop, where autumn leaves reflect in the pool, perfect for stunning photos. The Valley Suspension Bridge, a small red bridge spanning the deep valley with autumn leaves as a backdrop, offers a quintessential Japanese ambiance.

The Saimata Bridge Koinobori Season, Hundreds of Flags Flying to Wish for Growth
Starting from the first Sunday of April each year until the last day of the Golden Week, a spectacular display of koinobori (carp streamers) unfolds on the river near Kunjikawa Bridge, Saimata Bridge, and Shin-Saimata Bridge. Hundreds of colorful carp streamers flutter in the wind, not only decorating the river but also carrying the local people's heartfelt wishes for the growth and health of their children. This seasonal beauty has become a stunning local attraction, drawing countless visitors to stop and admire. Strolling along the riverside, you can fully enjoy this tranquility and beauty, feeling the romantic atmosphere of the koinobori gently swaying in the breeze. For over 30 years, the "Saimata Exchange Association" has been responsible for hanging the koinobori for this traditional event and is currently recruiting volunteers to join and contribute to this wonderful cause. If you have any koinobori at home that you no longer need, consider donating them so they can continue to fly over this river, spreading love and hope. Come join us to enjoy this magnificent koinobori spectacle and experience the unique charm of this season!
After a stroll around Lake Takataki, I went to BOSSO for lunch.
The glass-walled interior overlooks the lake, making for a relaxing and peaceful lunch.☺️🌱

It was so much fun playing golf in Japan, and I even got to see Mount Fuji!
The golf courses in Japan are truly amazing and cheaper than in Taiwan. The greens are in excellent condition, and the fairways are very comfortable. The only downside is that if you don't have a caddie, you have to get used to carrying your own clubs. The food is also delicious. They take cooking seriously, which is fantastic.
I played at three courses this time:
New Nanso Golf, Kurabu Golf, Chuo Tsuru Country Club, and Zozo Championship's Queen course.
All of them were surprisingly great.

Whispers of the Arashiyama Bamboo Forest
#falladventures
Walking through the Arashiyama Bamboo Forest in Kyoto was an enchanting experience unlike any other. The towering stalks of bamboo stretched endlessly toward the sky, their gentle sway creating a soft rustling sound that felt almost otherworldly. Sunlight filtered through the dense green canopy, casting magical shadows along the narrow paths. Despite the crowds, there was a sense of peace and calm that lingered in the air, as if nature itself was whispering secrets. It’s a must-visit spot in Kyoto, offering a serene and unforgettable encounter with Japan’s natural beauty.

Autumn Train Journey Through the Ginkgo Forest - Chiba Kominato Railway
Hello everyone! If you're visiting Japan in autumn, the Chiba Kominato Railway is a must-see destination. The scenery under the ginkgo trees is absolutely dreamy, highly recommended! This railway features a nostalgic small train in Chiba Prefecture, starting from Kominato Station and passing through picturesque countryside. During autumn, the ginkgo leaves turn a brilliant yellow, carpeting both sides of the tracks like a golden rug. Riding the train at a leisurely pace, you can watch the wind carry the ginkgo leaves as they fall, with the vibrant autumn foliage outside the window making you feel like you've stepped into a time tunnel, far away from the city's hustle and bustle. Along the way, you can get off the train to take photos, stroll under the ginkgo avenue, and enjoy the crunch of fallen leaves underfoot. The air carries a faint autumn fragrance, and you might even catch a glimpse of local farmers harvesting, adding a touch of rustic charm. The railway also features vintage-style carriages, offering a retro vibe that's perfect for couples or family outings. Getting there is easy—take the JR line from Tokyo to Yōrō Station and transfer to a bus. You can explore everything in just half a day. Since the ginkgo season is limited, make sure to check the best viewing times. The Chiba Kominato Railway is truly a hidden gem for autumn scenery. Start planning your trip now, and you'll fall in love with this serene beauty!
