🏯 Day 3 | Slow life in Tangjin, enjoy local beautiful sashimi Wagyu beef Leaving the outlying islands, we came to Karatsu and stayed at the “Hotel Yukicho Grand Besse” near Karatsu Station. The biggest reason to choose this one - the room has an open kitchen and cooking stove, which is a treasure for gourmets. Put down your luggage and immediately go to the local supermarket A Coop. The local sashimi, premium wagyu beef and seasonal fruits and vegetables are incredibly cost-effective. Frying a piece of snowflake wagyu beef and cutting a plate of fresh and sweet sashimi in a foreign kitchen is the most unforgettable feeling of life. Unfortunately, it was raining that day, so I had to give up the bus trip and hike to Tangtsu Castle. The city tower stands on the seaside high ground, and there is a tranquility in the gray mist. Looking at the rainbow pine plains in the distance, a dark green pine forest stretches along the coast, and the atmosphere remains. 📝 Tip: If the weather is good and you have time, I sincerely recommend taking the bus to Huzi to eat the live squid sashimi freshly cooked in the morning market, and then go to Rainbow Matsuhara for a walk to absorb badolin. 🛍️ Day 4 | Switch to Sasebo, walk in the shopping street until your feet are weak, add the Imari River tour in the middle Then take the train and transfer to Sasebo Station. Sasebo is most famous for its super long covered shopping street, where you can buy everything from the beginning to the end - medicines, clothing, souvenirs, groceries, restaurants, so you don't have to stay wet on rainy days. Restocking, shopping for cosmetics, and finding food are all done all at once. I can't feel bored after walking all afternoon. If you take the JR, change trains in the middle of Imari, you can also go see the Saga Bank chronograph clock that plays different music every time and purchase the famous Arita ceramics. ⛴️ Day 5 | Ninety-nine island cruise, the stunning scenery under the clouds The highlight is on day five. We bought the "Ninety-nine Island Cruise Boat + Aquarium + Zoo and Botanical Garden" package on trip.com in advance. It's cheaper than buying separately. The cruise alone is worth the fare. Ninety-nine Island consists of 208 large and small islands. The cruise ship slowly sails out of the inland sea. It is dotted with green islands on both sides, large and small like pearls sprinkled on the sea. The sea is calm as a mirror. Although it was cloudy that day, it was more comfortable without the bright sunshine. The cool breeze was refreshing, and even the sky was covered with a soft gray blue, which was particularly artistic. Standing on the deck and watching one island after another slowly pass by, one can't help but wonder: how can this picture be so beautiful. The aquarium "Hai きらら" is right next door, just a few steps away, so it's convenient to fit in the package. However, to be honest, it is not good value for money if you just go there specifically - the pavilion is small and there are no large marine life, which is just right as a stop by after a cruise. 🦪 15 minutes walk | Grilled oysters all-you-can-eat, fresh to melt After seeing the cruise ship and the aquarium, you can reach "Kyujimoto Kansai" for grilled oyster all-you-can-eat within a 15-minute walk. 1500 yen per person all you can eat, want to open an extra stove add 550 yen. The freshly grilled oysters are put on the stove, and the shells are smoking when they are opened. The oysters are full and plump, the salty freshness of the sea water hits the sweetness of the oysters themselves. One after another, I can't stop eating. They are cheap and delicious but also addictive to eat. They are definitely human delicacies. 🐧 Last stop | Ninety-nine Island Zoo and Botanical Garden, healing small animals It's only a 5-minute taxi ride from Kansai Honzo to the Kujikushima Zoological and Botanical Gardens (Mori きらら). The penguin pavilion in the park is the focal point, with a large group of penguins shuttling in the water and swaying left and right on the shore, which is meltingly cute; and furry little bears lazily sunbathing in the trees, which is super healing. Paired with four-season flowers and a botanical garden, it’s perfect for families or couples to put a warm end to the journey. Enjoy fresh food by cooking in Tangzu, go shopping in Sasebo, and eat grilled oysters with a view of the Ninety-Nine Islands - these three days, from slow life to all-you-can-eat, each day has its own surprises. Parking details, etc. Tips for your visit⚠️ Basically, getting around by car🚗 or taxi is your best bet! ① Okawachiyama Townscape (Imari City) · No need to worry about parking, as there are two large lots. · Since it's in the mountains, expect the blooms to peak about 1-2 days after Imari City's forecast. ◯ ② Jissoin Temple (Imari City) · There's a parking area just before you reach the temple grounds, along with a 100-meter uphill walk. · There's also space for about 3 cars inside the grounds, so driving all the way up is highly recommended if you have mobility issues. ③ Mifuneyama Rakuen (Takeo City) · Plenty of parking available, so no worries there. · Be sure to check the specific blooming forecast for this famous spot. · Admission fee: 600 yen (Adults). · Note that separate admission fees apply if you plan to attend both the day and night viewings. ④ Ennoji Temple (Takeo City) · After driving up the cherry tree-lined path, there's space for about 10 cars just before the temple entrance. ⑤ MR Uranosaki Station (Imari City) · You can park about 10 cars at the station's roundabout or on the side streets. · Trains run about twice an hour, and parking gets tight right before a train arrives. · In a pinch, you can park at the convenience store across the street. If you have a larger vehicle, it's better to use the free tourist parking lot just before the shrine. (It's much quieter and more relaxing on weekdays and non-event days!) We had an unforgettable lunch at Happiness Village Yakiniku Shop in Imari, Saga—and it was one of the best meals of our trip. Parking was super convenient with spaces right outside the restaurant, which made things easy from the start. We came specifically for the Imari beef, and it truly lived up to the hype. The quality of the beef was superb—tender, juicy, and rich with perfectly marbled fat that melted beautifully on the grill. Every bite was packed with flavor, and it honestly felt like a luxury meal at a surprisingly reasonable price. We went with the lunch sets, which were generous and came with a good mix of premium cuts. Everything was well-prepared and beautifully presented, and the casual, welcoming atmosphere made the experience even more enjoyable. Best place to visit in Saga prefecture. I went here on weekend but there are not so many people around, and i walk around and buy a lot of souvenirs, there are soo many cute Cutlery that made in Arita. Actually there are many shops that provide to experiencing making the cutlery, etc.. but i wasnt have much time when i visit here so i cant do that which i was kinda regret. 🚂 I love trains, and I love cute and beautiful train stations even more. Choosing Kyushu was also because there are many train stations worth visiting in Kyushu, as well as many unique sightseeing trains. Half of the time I spend hopping on and off trains, fascinated by each beautiful train station🚉 . 🚈 Located in Northern Kyushu, Nagasaki Prefecture has many islands and peninsulas, streets filled with exotic charm, and quite a few world heritage sites, as well as several sightseeing train lines: the Matsuura Railway Line, the Sasebo Line, the Shimabara Railway Line, and the under-construction Arita Line. . 🚅 This time we took the Matsuura Railway Line, and we got off at several beautiful stations to enjoy them. Trains usually run once an hour, and many stations have attractions to visit. Tickets for the Matsuura Railway can only be purchased with cash; transportation cards and JR Passes are not accepted. The cherry blossoms form a tunnel of flowers, and during the cherry blossom blizzard, the petals fall like rain. It's truly beautiful, and it's also really crowded. Many people bring their lunch boxes to enjoy the blossoms here, and we also had lunch amidst the petal rain. . 🚂 We took the Matsuura Railway Line for a few stops the first time, and the entire route the second time. The driver uncle would come and chat with us whenever we stopped for a few minutes. He loves his job very much and is proud that his son became a Shinkansen driver. He was even more courteous when he heard we were from Shanghai, as his son had studied there. In the end, he even gave us travel information for Kyushu trains. This trip on the Matsuura Railway in Kyushu was truly joyful and satisfying. .
