🌵 Joshua Tree National Park, California Joshua Tree National Park is a spectacular desert destination in Southern California, USA, famous for its unusual Joshua trees, giant boulders, rugged mountains, and star-filled night skies. It’s a fantastic place for road trips, hiking, photography, and camping. 📍 Where is it? The park is located in southeastern California, roughly: · 2–2.5 hours from Los Angeles · 1 hour from Palm Springs · 3 hours from San Diego 🌵 Best things to see 1. Joshua Trees The park’s namesake trees create an almost surreal landscape, especially around sunrise and sunset. 2. Hidden Valley 🪨 A short, scenic loop surrounded by enormous granite boulders. Great for an easy hike and photography. 3. Keys View 🌄 One of the best viewpoints in the park. On clear days you can see the Coachella Valley, Salton Sea and San Andreas Fault. 4. Skull Rock 💀 A famous rock formation naturally shaped somewhat like a human skull. It’s one of the easiest photo stops. 5. Cholla Cactus Garden 🌵 A dense field of cholla cacti that looks especially beautiful in the early morning or late afternoon. 6. Arch Rock A natural granite arch accessible via a short trail. 7. Barker Dam A relatively easy hike where you can see desert scenery, rock formations and, depending on conditions, water. 🌅 Best experiences · Sunrise: Cholla Cactus Garden or Keys View · Sunset: Keys View or Cap Rock · Night: Stargazing and astrophotography ⭐ · Hiking: Hidden Valley, Barker Dam and Ryan Mountain · Photography: Skull Rock, Arch Rock and Joshua Tree forests ☀️ Best time to visit October–April is generally the most comfortable period for hiking. Spring can be particularly beautiful when wildflowers appear after suitable winter rainfall. Summer can be extremely hot, with dangerous midday temperatures, so hiking should be planned carefully. 🚗 How to explore A car is strongly recommended. The park is huge, and there is limited public transportation inside it. A scenic drive through the main roads can take several hours if you stop at the major viewpoints and trails. 🏕️ Camping Joshua Tree is famous for desert camping. Popular campgrounds include: · Jumbo Rocks · Hidden Valley · Ryan · Indian Cove · Cottonwood Book ahead when reservations are required, particularly during busy periods. ⚠️ Important tips Bring plenty of water, sunscreen, a hat and comfortable shoes. There is limited cell service and very little water available inside the park. Don’t underestimate the desert heat. And if you stay after sunset, look up—the night sky at Joshua Tree can be incredible, especially away from nearby towns. 🌌

Address: Beal Rd, Calipatria, CA 92233 USA How to get there: 3 hours by car from Los Angeles. Tours are also available. Tourist attractions: This art is said to have been created by a local man alone. The mountain is dyed with hardened desert sand. #USATravel

I went to "Salvation Mountain" in California, USA. It is a colorful work of art that local artist Leonard Knight started to create alone in the 1960s, and took 30 years to create, using the desert rocky mountain as a canvas. There was a sandstorm on the day, so I was only able to stay for about 3 minutes and was not able to take a good look at it, but I was surprised to suddenly appear in the desert. #USA Trip #Crossing America

🌈 Salvation Mountain 🎨✨ Another unique check-in spot in the California desert! This vibrantly colored mountain is adorned with messages, artwork, and colorful patterns, making it a landmark unlike any other. #bucketlistdestinations The Imperial Sand Hills, specifically the Algodones Dunes in California, are a geological paradox. They are the largest dune system in California, yet they border a concrete irrigation canal that feels out of place. My goal was to find the "Glamis" vibe, but I ended up at the OHV (Off-Highway Vehicle) pull-off expecting adventure. Let me tell you: this is where I made my biggest error. I went on a Saturday. The roar of dune buggies is relentless. It feels less like a wilderness and more like a chaotic beach party. I realized quickly that the pull-off is just a launching pad for the vehicles. If you want the "Gobi" or "戈壁" feel, you have to walk away from the parking area, deep into the closed areas where vehicles aren't allowed. I hiked about a mile south-east, leaving the noise behind. The sand here is fine as talcum powder; it gets into everything, including my camera’s zoom ring. I learned that wearing high-ankle gaiters is non-negotiable. The sand temperature at 4 PM was scorching—probably 110°F. I had to take breaks to let my shoes cool down. My specific observation is about water. I carried two liters; I needed three. The dry air sucks the moisture right out of your mouth. The irony of this desert is the contrast between the man-made chaos (the OHVs) and the natural silence just a half-mile away. I sat on a ridge and watched the sun drop. The dunes turned into a rippling ocean of shadows. For international travelers, note that the entrance is free, but you need a state pass for OHV use. I don't drive one, so I just paid for parking at the designated lot. If you are a photographer, do not leave your tripod in the car—the wind picks up at dusk, and you’ll need the stability for long exposures.

It's a 2-3 hour drive from Los Angeles or San Diego. ❷east JESUS 📍 E Jesus Rd, Niland, CA 92257, United States ⏰7:30 AM - 7:00 PM This is an art landmark located just a short distance from Salvation Mountain. In the desert of Niland, California, a colorful hill known as "Salvation Mountain" suddenly emerges. This vibrant art piece, with its pop-like appearance, carries a profound story filled with love and faith✨. The hill is a massive art project created over 30 years by a single man, Leonard Knight, to convey the message "God is Love." Using cement, paint, and discarded materials, he tirelessly layered and painted every day, embodying "living faith"🌋. The hill is adorned with hearts, Bible verses, rainbow-colored stairs, and vibrant caves. The fusion of faith and creativity is what makes this place so captivating🌈. ※ Since the paint is applied manually, visitors are encouraged to enjoy the site respectfully without touching or damaging it. Access & Directions 📍 Location: Niland, California 🚘 Recommended transportation: Rental car (approximately 3–4 hours one way from Los Angeles or Palm Springs) 🚫 Public transportation is highly inconvenient, so a car is essential. ※ There are no restrooms or shops available. Don’t forget water, sun protection, and sneakers.

"Slab City" was born in the desert area of California, USA, on a former military base. It is said to have no electricity or running water and almost no laws or rules, and is "The Last Free Place in America". At first glance, it looks like a wasteland, but its unique culture and values live on. 🏕️What kind of people live there? Slab City is home to people who have left "normal society" for various reasons. · People who have lost their money or their homes · People who want to live a self-sufficient, off-grid life · Artists who value art and self-expression · Snowbirds, seasonal migrants who stay only in the winter The number of residents varies depending on the season, and in winter, hundreds of people can gather. 🏘️Living environment · No infrastructure (no electricity, water, no trash collection) · The temperature rises to nearly 50°C in summer · Police intervention is basically nonexistent On the other hand, it is a place that can be called a utopia for those who want a "completely free life" that is not tied down by anyone🇺🇸🇺🇸 Slab City is not just a strange settlement, but a place that asks "what is freedom?" and "what is my way of life?". Rather than a tourist destination, it is a space that is like a kind of social experiment. If you go, I'm sure your values will be shaken a little. I talked to the locals and heard a lot of interesting stories🌿 #Roadtrip #AcrossAmerica

📌 🇺🇸 America / Salvation Mountain . Salvation Mountain is located in the desert area of the southwestern part of California. I heard that there was a flashy outdoor art in the desert, so I went to visit it. It is a work by the late contemporary artist Lennart Knight, and is expressed with a large amount of paint and waste materials such as abandoned cars, abandoned agricultural equipment, abandoned tires, and electric wires. By the way, Salvation means "salvation". Bible and Christian proverbs are painted here and there, in short, it is a group of works that express the hope that everyone is a "sinner" and that sinners will be saved by "God's love". Contrary to appearances, it was a work with a very deep meaning. Admission is free, but donations are being collected online for the conservation and management of the outdoor works (Paypal recommended). Then, for this one time, the morning rain turned into a clear blue sky as if it were a lie... But after this, I was hit by rain like a bucket was turned over again. photo on March 15th 2023 Salvation Mountain is a hillside visionary environment created by the contemporary artist Leonard Knight (1931–2014) in the California Desert area of Imperial County, northeast of Niland, near the Slab City, USA. This colorful outdoor artwork is made of adobe bricks, discarded tires and windows, automobile parts and thousands of gallons of paint. It encompasses numerous murals and areas painted with Christian sayings and Bible verses, though its philosophy was built around the Sinner's Prayer to God. It's free of charge but the Salvation Mountain Inc., who is operated by the volunteer members of its board, always makes up a donation online. #tripOverseasTravel #SpectacularViews #America #Photogenic Spots

When I visited Salvation Mountain in the United States, I was amazed by its colorful and overwhelming visuals. In the midst of the vast desert, this vibrant mountain suddenly appears, creating a mysterious place where art and faith merge. Walking through the walls and stairs painted with colorful designs and inscriptions like 'GOD IS LOVE' and Bible quotes, I felt the beliefs and passion of its creator, Leonard Knight. It's very photogenic and definitely worth a visit. I thoroughly enjoyed the unique art along with the heartfelt messages.

====📍Salvation Mountain Beal Rd, Calipatria, CA 92233 🚗Access: Approximately 3-4 hours by car from Los Angeles. 📍Salvation Mountain🌈 A famous tourist spot in the middle of the desert in the United States✨ It looks like a colorful piece of art, but... It actually contains a message to God called "God Is Love"🙌🏽 There is a small cave-like space made of scrap wood, a framework, and straw and adobe clay. All the works on this hill are handmade one by one🫶🏽 Since it is a tourist spot in the middle of the desert, you will need to access it by car from the nearby cities of San Diego and LA🚗 If you don't have a rental car, there are tours available✨ Leonardo built Salvation Mountain by himself. In the square, you can still see the colorful Chevrolet where Leonardo slept while building Salvation Mountain🎨 It's really really hot in the summer, so bring lots of water with you‼ ︎🫠 📍Address: 603 Beal Rd, Niland, CA 92257 #overseastrip #USAtravel #USAtourism #Las Vegas

God spilled the palette. And so, Salvation Mountain was born. ⛳️Salvation Mountain is located in the southeastern part of California's Colorado Desert, near Slab City. The MV for 'Fly' by Jessica Jung was filmed here! ✅This is a true fairy tale about love and faith in one's life. It has been selected by 'Lovely Planet' as one of the must-visit attractions in the United States. 1⃣It is in an unmanaged desert area with no police presence, inhabited by fugitives, eloping couples, and vagrants. The existence of such an artistic site is truly surprising, and all credit goes to the creator of Salvation Mountain, Leonard Knight, a Vietnam War veteran, an artist, and a respectable old man who spent 24 years painting the entire mountain in memory of his late wife. 2⃣Salvation Mountain is made of adobe and straw, then painted with a lot of paint. Its colorful graffiti covers the entire mountain, and most of the patterns are related to religious themes. Its iconic design is a red font that reads 'God Is Love'. ⚠️Tips: 1⃣Bring plenty of water and snacks in advance, as it's a 3-hour drive from downtown Los Angeles to the desert. Be sure to bring enough fruits and water to replenish your energy. 2⃣Be sure to protect yourself from the sun. Although the temperature in October is comfortable, the direct sun in the desert can cause heatstroke. The sun there is particularly strong 3⃣Ladies, do not wear high heels 👠. Volunteers at Salvation Mountain may ask you to take off your shoes or go barefoot. It's best to wear flat shoes or comfortable shoes 👟. 4⃣Respect the art, do not climb the mountain, nor try to touch or alter any paintings. There is no admission fee, but you can support the maintenance of 'Salvation Mountain' through donations or volunteering.

A beacon of faith in the desert—GOD IS LOVE✨ Amidst the vast expanse of sand, a splash of vibrant colors warms the boundless desert. After a 3-hour drive from LA, I arrived at the long-anticipated Salvation Mountain. The designer and builder was a veteran who had experienced the Korean War, Leonard Knight, who spent nearly 24 years carrying clay and straw to build it up, and then through painting, created this 'GOD IS LOVE' fairy tale world.

Trash is art that has been misplaced. I have previously written about Salvation Mountain in the Colorado desert, but few people knew that there is another art treasure just 1 mile away, that is EastJesuS. I don’t see many people writing about this, so I’ll share it with you all as soon as possible! Rather than being a tourist attraction, it is more of an open-air museum of creative transformation of waste. (Okay, this is the name I came up with, give me 2) This is a park full of artistic sculptures, built by a technician more than ten years ago. The artworks in the park are completely handmade and very interesting, such as elephants made from scrap car parts, crooked wooden houses, and old-fashioned RVs covered with decorative items. In addition to viewing items, there are many things to play with, such as swings and seesaws. Of course, they are all made from recycled tires, car mats, etc. There were American girls playing in there, shouting and screaming with joy. It was a pity that I wore the wrong clothes. It would have been more appropriate to wear denim shorts. You should wear something casual when you go out to play, and don’t end up with a little regret like me. I was lucky enough to meet the owner of this place, an old man with a white beard, who really looked a bit like Santa Claus. I didn't remember his name because I was so moved by his enthusiasm that he kept talking and introducing me. I don't even know where to look first. But I remember he told me two rules here: ①Everything here can be touched; ② If they are broken, you have to take them all home. Haha, humorous Americans~ 🎫No tickets, no parking fees, but you need a childlike heart

#2024 Travel Wishes Salvation Mountain Redemption Hill, located in California, is a place created by local artists, it is really beautiful there, the United States is so big, so there are many places for artists to freely play, sometimes I really envy that there are so many places abroad! In 2024 I hope to continue exploring the world🫰🏼

If you are interested, please try taking a photo on the swing😝🧡 It is on the way back to Anaheim from Salvation Mountain, so it is recommended to go there as a set🫶 22:30|Return to hotel On the way back, we saw the Disney fireworks☺️🎇 ----【Day6】06:30|Check out of hotel We hurried from Anaheim to the airport to use Los Angeles airport on the way back🚗³₃※The roads are crowded in the morning, so it's best to leave as early as possible⚠️ 09:00|Randy's Get a snack at Donut This donut shop, located close to the airport, is a famous shop that also appeared in the movie "Iron Man 2" 🍩✨ After buying donuts, return the rental car and check in at the airport ✈️ 12:30 | Departure from Los Angeles Airport ----【Day7】16:30 | Arrival at Narita Airport ==== #besttrip2023 #USA Trip #California Trip #Los Angeles Trip #Disney Abroad #Disney #Beautiful Spots #Overseas Trip #Photogenic Spots #Girls Trip

#SalvationMountain #California If you're traveling to Los Angeles or other parts of the American West Coast, this is a must-visit spot! Salvation Mountain! It's been used as a filming location for movies, dramas, and music videos, so many of you may have seen it! It's a colorful mountain of sand built by an old man all by himself 🌈 If you go on a private tour, you can take lots of photos, so it's perfect for making memories! It's located quite low in California, so it's essential to take precautions against the heat. There are other photo spots and tourist attractions in the area, so you can enjoy it all day 💕 #USATravel

#passionpassport went to explore the cloud museum and it is really interesting. the ticket was about ten dollars but it was very educational. learnt a lot about global warming and the temperatures rising over the next few years into the future , as well as how it has risen over the past few years and decades as well. there are interactive and educational videos in the museum as well and it is rather large. would encourage bringing some kids here as well since they can learn about the impact and effects of global warming which is a good educational item to have. overall it was a fun visit and taught us many things.

I have written about Salvation Mountain in the middle of the Colorado Desert. I don't know that there is another art treasure one miles away. It is East Jesus. This is a park full of art sculptures, built by a technician a dozen years ago. The artwork in the park is completely hand-made and very interesting, such as elephants made from used car parts, skewed wooden houses, and old-fashioned motorhomes with decorative items. The owner who was lucky enough to meet here, an old man with a white beard, was really a little Santa Claus. He told me the two rules here.

Its not selfish to live the life you want, living like someone elses will is a fool. Photographed in Joshua Tree Park Redemption Hill. Joshua Tree Park is overgrown with cremation bushes, Mexican thornwood and spiny cactus. The park is taller, more humid, and slightly cooler in the Mojave Desert. Redemption Mountain The Redemption Mountain is an artistic installation created by man. Its owner, Leonard Knight, was born in 1931. At the age of 36 he became a Christian. Then, his "building the mountain" movement began. Two or three hours drive from downtown Los Angeles.
