➡️Yunque National Forest (P8-p15) As the only tropical rainforest in the United States, we chose not to join the usual group water activities. Instead, we wanted to hike on our own, so we drove up to a higher spot first, then hiked for 40 minutes to Mt. Britton Tower (P9-10). From the tower, you can overlook the entire rainforest. It’s hard to capture in photos, but the view is stunning in person. There is actually a higher peak, El Yunque Peak (P8-9), but the one-way hike takes 1.8 hours. We thought it was too long and didn’t take that trail. If you have enough time and energy, you can challenge yourself to reach it. We hiked the rainforest on December 3rd. It was very comfortable inside the forest, with very few mosquitoes, so no need to bring insect repellent. After reaching the top, we drove down the mountain and visited various spots, many with small waterfalls where you can play in the water. I wore a bikini under my clothes, so I just took off my outerwear when playing in the water. You can bring a towel to dry off after playing in the water. You don’t need special shoes for this route; your regular sneakers are fine. It’s not like the other trail to the waterfall jump spot that can ruin your shoes. ➡️Castillo San Felipe del Morro (501 Calle Norzagaray, San Juan, 00901, Puerto Rico) Old San Juan Castle (P1-7) – The ticket for this castle is valid for two days. The castle is really beautiful, especially the seaside view from the top. Inside, there are many exhibits about the history of the old town. The old town is also nice, with colorful houses. You can stroll street by street, and there are many small shops selling souvenirs. However, the streets in the old town are very narrow and parking is difficult. There are many parking lots though; just search for “park” on Google Maps. The fees are reasonable. We parked in the underground lot next to the castle, which cost $13.5 for 6 hours, charged by the hour. This castle is definitely worth a visit!

My Trip to this amazing US Territory was excitement. here in Puerto Rico 🇵🇷 you don't need passport since is a US Territory..the island surrounding beaches are breathtaking. The only US rainforest called el Yunque is also in Puerto Rico. there people and music I'd delighted to your soul..if you are looking for a paradise here on earth 🌎..I recommend Puerto Rico the island of excitement..you can do anything in Puerto Rico 🇵🇷

Puerto Rico's colonial history is quite similar to Cuba's, except that Cuba gained independence through revolution, while Puerto Rico ended up under the Stars and Stripes 🇺🇸. However, its World Heritage site is one of the most valuable in the Caribbean, featuring a city defense system that has been tested in real combat over centuries and is quite ingenious. 🛳️ The cruise terminal is very close to San Juan Old Town, so a half-day walking tour is sufficient. 📷 Route and attractions in a no-backtracking order (map in the last few pictures) 1. Parque de las Palomas (Park) 🎟️ Tickets As part of the San Juan National Historic Site, the two castles share a combined ticket costing $10 per person, card payment only, no cash accepted. Be sure to keep the paper ticket. 🛍️ Shopping On the shopping street, there is a Mundo Taíno store selling local Puerto Rican products such as coffee beans, chocolate, and rum.

Puerto Rico, a small island in the eastern Caribbean Sea, is also a U.S. overseas territory. It's very close to the Dominican Republic, and perhaps due to its low latitude, the clouds in the sky are exceptionally thick, clustered like those in a comic book. The weather here is incredibly unpredictable 🌧️. Just as the plane was taxiing, we got a signal while it was raining outside; then, after passing through the clouds, we saw a rainbow (see picture 1 🌈); by the time we landed, the sky was clear, as if nothing had happened. But in the evening, while strolling through the old town, a sudden sun shower began, only to subside again after about ten minutes – very changeable weather ☁️. Buses in San Juan, the capital of Puerto Rico, are free 🚌. After exiting the airport, you need to go up to the second floor to wait for the bus. I didn't understand this when I came out of the airport and waited for a long time on the arrivals level, missing a bus. Actually, the boarding point is on the departure level. Additionally, the times displayed on Google Maps are not very accurate, but buses run approximately every 20 minutes. Taking the T5 bus from the airport takes you directly to Old San Juan (Viejo San Juan), the most concentrated area for tourists to explore on foot and learn about local history and culture, and also the starting point for the capital city, as shown in Figure 2. Old San Juan also boasts many local restaurants and bars 🍺. Pina Colada is highly recommended; it contains alcohol and has a unique and delicious flavor. Most Puerto Rican restaurants offer similar cuisine, as shown in Figure 3. The streetscape of Old San Juan is similar to that of Old Panama City, but it feels much more lively due to its U-shaped terrain and its location on a hill, offering better views, as shown in Figures 4-6. The San Juan National Historic Site, located at the far end of Old San Juan, sits on a vast grassland, as shown in Figure 7. It's a very photogenic spot 📷, and this 16th-century building tells the story of the area's colonial and developmental history. Figure 15 shows the photo spot with the Puerto Rican flag, where many people line up to take pictures: Callejón de la Puerta con la Bandera Overall, Puerto Rico has a fantastic environment; the blue skies, white clouds, and ocean are top-notch views, incredibly pleasing to the eye. The cost of living seems similar to other cities in the US, making it quite suitable for city walks and vacations.

Exploring Old San Juan was absolutely gorgeous—colorful colonial streets, historic forts, and lively plazas filled with music and charm. Every corner felt like stepping into a postcard. On another day, we headed out to Piñones, where the beach is wild, breezy, and beautifully local. The ocean views were stunning, and the street-side kiosks served some of the most delicious Puerto Rican food. We even had the best mango smoothie ever at one of the local kiosks along the road—fresh, sweet, and perfect for the tropical heat. Two amazing days filled with culture, flavor, and island vibes. Castillo San Cristóbal is considered the largest fortress built in the Americas. It was built for the purpose of protecting the city of San Juan from attack. The vast attraction is a great place to explore around and enjoy the beautiful view of Old San Juan as well. This is a must-visit as you will be fascinated! My rating of this attraction: 4 ⭐️ out of 5!
