Curry Chicken Bread, Yau Kee Kampar
This restaurant is famous for the Curry Chicken Bread as well as other dishes. It is located at the town centre along Jalan Idris. The owner was inspired by the Beggar’s Bread from Hong Kong to come out with the idea of stuffed curry bread in 1986. This is the first time I tried curry chicken bread, and I love it. It is delicious and will make you eat non-stop, the curry chicken is baked inside the soft fluffy bread, very aromatic. If you are not able to take spicy food, settle for the equally tasty herbal chicken bread. This restaurant also serves the typical Chinese dishes. Food is nice and reasonably priced. Occasionally there are tour groups that come here to enjoy this specialty during lunch and dinner time.

Gua Tempurung
Great experience for a newbie cave explorer. There are 2 tours offered - dry tour and wet tour.
Both tours is divided to two more options - one is longer route than the other. You will be guided throughout the tours and can listen to so many facts explained by the guide. It would be much more interesting if you come in a group. We tried the dry tour (the longer route) since we did not bring any extra clothes. Took us around 40 minutes to the end of the tour back and forth to the cave entrance. There were thousands steps make sure you are fit enough to enjoy the walk. Next time for sure will try the wet tour it looks so much fun!

Kampar’s Student-Fav Noodle Spot: Atas Noodle Breakfast 🍜✨
Just had breakfast at Kampar Atas Noodle (上楼面馆), and let me tell you—this place is the low-key MVP for students near Bandar Baru Kampar! 🙌
It’s super popular with the uni crowd because the food is quick, wallet-friendly, and sooo good! The menu is all about simple noodle vibes—think pan mee and other comforting noodle classics. But what really blew me away was the soup. It’s like a warm hug in a bowl—seriously tasty and full of flavor. 🔥

Whether you’re a student or just exploring Kampar’s classic eats, this noodle joint is a must-try! Don’t sleep on the soup… it’s next-level. 😋

Escaping to the Highlands: The Serenity of Sahom, Perak
Beyond the bustling street art of Ipoh and the iconic limestone caves of Kinta Valley lies a hidden pocket of tranquility:
Nestled in the heart of Perak, this lush region is a sanctuary for those looking to trade the relentless hum of urban life for the rhythmic pulse of nature.
Here, the landscape is defined by its dramatic juxtaposition—ancient, mist-shrouded mountain ranges meeting crystalline river systems.
🥳The Pulse of the Highlands: Sahom’s Natural Charm
The Rivers: Nature’s Original Spa
The defining feature of Sahom is its river systems, which serve as the lifeblood of the valley. Unlike the sluggish waters of the lowlands, the streams here are swift, cool, and impeccably clear.
🥳The Experience:
Imagine spending your afternoon waist-deep in water that has cascaded directly from the forest floor of the Titiwangsa Range. The sensation is instant rejuvenation. The soundscape is composed entirely of rushing water hitting river stones, a natural white noise that effectively silences the stresses of daily life.
🥳The Atmosphere: An Eternal Morning
Sahom enjoys a unique microclimate. Because of its elevation and dense surrounding canopy, the air remains crisp even during the hottest part of the day. As evening approaches, the valley is often blanketed in a light, ethereal mist—perfect for those who enjoy a slow walk along the riverbanks or simply sitting on a wooden deck with a warm cup of local tea, watching the sky change colors against the backdrop of the rugged hills.
🥳The Art of Doing Nothing
In a world that celebrates constant productivity, a trip to Sahom is a radical act of slowing down. To truly experience this landscape as a seasoned traveler would, embrace the Low-Fidelity approach.
🥳Unplug to Reconnect:
Use the limited connectivity to your advantage. Sahom isn't about capturing the perfect photo for your feed; it’s about the tactile experience of cool river water, the smell of damp earth after a tropical shower, and the vibrant greens of the jungle canopy.
🥳Embrace the "River Ritual:
Spend your mornings observing the local flora and fauna. The area is a haven for exotic birdlife and fireflies, which perform a silent, glittering ballet along the riverbanks once the sun dips behind the mountains.
🥳Culinary Simplicity:
Local dining in this part of Perak is unpretentious. Focus on freshwater catches and mountain-grown produce. Eating a simple, freshly prepared meal in the open air, with nothing but the mountain breeze for company, is the ultimate luxury.
🥳A Final Thought for the Traveler
Sahom is not a destination for the adrenaline seeker looking for high-octane tours; it is a destination for the conscious soul. It invites you to stop moving, stop planning, and simply be. When you eventually leave, you won't take home souvenirs of plastic or trinkets, but rather a profound sense of stillness that lingers in your mind long after you've returned to the rhythm of the city.

Snickers Lays combo for football night feast
#footballmatchfoodmap
Get both snacks because a grueling night watch during the intense pressure of a World Cup semi-final requires both the mindless, salty crunch of Lays to get you through nervous moments on the pitch and the heavy, sweet fuel of a Snickers to battle late-night exhaustion. While Lays provides the perfect, low-effort accompaniment to every attack and VAR review, Snickers steps in as the heavy-duty energy boost needed to stay alert through extra time and penalty shootouts. Combining the two guarantees you satisfy both your sudden cravings and physical hunger, keeping your focus entirely on the football without your stomach interrupting the match.

FIA Kickoff: Fruits, Football, and Midnight
#footballmatchfoodmap
Catching the late-night football matches in Malaysia is electric, but the brutal time differences demand a serious energy rescue. To power through the final whistle, head to a lively local spot for a feast of crispy loaded nachos and juicy burgers. The real game-changer is stopping by The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf Malaysia first to grab their new FIA (Flavored Iced Americano). This bold double-shot espresso is totally customizable with vibrant fruit flavors like Kyoho Grape or Valencia Orange, sweet Mango Jelly, and a refreshing sparkling twist. It provides the ultimate fruity caffeine punch to eliminate midnight fatigue, keeping you wide awake and cheering loudly for every single goal!

World Cup Buzz⚽ with Coffee Bean FIA drinks
#footballmatchfoodmap
With the World Cup reaching its peak drama, the timezone difference has been brutal for us football fans (especially with those 3:00 AM kickoffs like Spain vs. Belgium!). To survive the night without passing out on the couch, I stopped by The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf to try their brand-new release: the Gravity Espresso (a rich pistachio milk base topped with floating espresso).
Coffee Bean
It was the ultimate game-changer. The intense hit of espresso paired with the smooth, nutty pistachio flavor completely fixed my late-night fatigue. It gave me the perfect, clean energy boost to power through 90 minutes (plus extra time!) of intense football action. If you are struggling to stay awake for the upcoming quarter-finals and semi-finals, this new drop suits the midnight-football vibe perfectly.
