I drove up the winding roads of Bergpark Wilhelmshöhe, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Upon reaching the top, I was stunned by the bronze statue of Hercules, standing atop a stone pyramid. It's a magnificent and imposing piece of Baroque architecture. The view from here is breathtaking, offering panoramic views of Kassel and the surrounding green mountains. Luckily, I visited during the summer season when the artificial waterfall (Wasserspiele) was open. Water cascades down from Herkules through rock formations and caves to Schloss Wilhelmshöhe Castle below. It's a breathtaking sight, a testament to ancient engineering ingenuity. It truly felt like a step back in time. It was worth every minute of the trip!
