Just had an amazing family trip at the brand new KSL Esplanade Hotel in Klang and wow, it totally lived up to the hype! We booked their 2-Bedroom Suite for our group of four, and let me just say—this place is SO clean and everything still has that fresh-out-of-the-box vibe. Highly recommend if you love that new hotel sparkle! ✨ Room & Amenities This suite is a whole vibe. The best part? The master bathroom with an oversized bathtub that feels like your own private spa—sooo spacious and seriously luxe! The hotel hooked us up with generous toiletries, and those shower gel and shampoo scents? Obsessed! Major eco-friendly points for the huge refillable glass water bottles in every room. Soundproofing & Layout The soundproofing here is next-level. My kids were blasting their favorite shows in the next room, but our bedroom was total peace and quiet. The suite has 3 bathrooms (yes, THREE!)—there’s even a powder room in the living area, which is an absolute game changer for families. Bed & Sleep Quality Beds felt like sleeping on clouds—I’m talking seriously comfy, and we all slept like babies. Only thing I’d change? Toss in some extra pillows! Each bed comes with one, so if you’re a pillow fort type, maybe request a few more at check-in. Breakfast Breakfast was included in our rate (usually around RM 750/night, or RM 650 if you catch promos and collect Trip Coins on trip.com 🙌). While breakfast is about RM 45 per person, it’s a bit pricey if you don’t eat big. Tbh, with so many cafes and restaurants at the Esplanade shopping mall next door, it might be worth skipping and trying local eats instead! Parking & Accessibility Heads up: Parking is shared with the mall and can be a little tricky on your first try because the signs aren’t super clear. This can be a bit of a struggle if you’re hauling luggage or have little ones in tow. Also, during busy times the elevators take a minute to arrive, but they’re lightning fast once you get inside (hello, 21st floor in seconds!). Everyone knows Klang for Bak Kut Teh, but after spending a day exploring the town, I realised there's so much more than just food. I didn't expect to enjoy Klang this much. Walking around the old streets, I found beautiful colonial buildings, colourful murals, temples, riverside views and cafés that gave the town a relaxed, nostalgic atmosphere. This is my third time coming to Klang. The first two times I only stopped briefly to taste the local Bak Kut Teh. But this time, I made a plan in advance and decided to come to Klang for a leisurely citywalk (Citywalk). Klang is the seat of the Selangor royal family and has a long history and rich cultural heritage. The monuments here are well preserved with almost no traces of commercialization, making it ideal for exploring on foot. Once you emerge from the KTM Klang Station, there is plenty to see around you. The main attractions we visited in Klang are as follows: 1⃣ Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Klang 📍Address: No.114, Jalan Tengku Kelana, Kawasan 1, 41000 Klang, Selangor Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Klang is very spectacular and open to the public free of charge. At dusk, you can enjoy the beautiful view of the church from the nearby overpass. 2⃣ Klang 5 Road Guanyin Pavilion 📍Address: 30, Jalan Raya Barat, Selangor Darul Ehsan, 41000 Klang, Selangor This is the oldest Chinese temple in Klang, and it looks very majestic after renovation. The caisson inside the temple is particularly beautiful and deserves a closer look. 3⃣ Klang Little India 📍Address: No.28-A, 1st Floor, Little India, Jalan Tengku Kelana, Kawasan 1, 41000 Klang, Selangor It is full of exotic customs, and the photos you take at random are very beautiful. It is a very suitable place for taking photos and checking in. 4⃣ Klang Mural Street 📍Address: 15, Jalan Stesen 1, Kawasan 1, 41000 Klang, Selangor The mural street is hidden in an alley. The murals are very exquisite and carefully painted. It is a good place to take pictures and check in. 5⃣ Kota Raja Fire Station 📍Address: Jalan Gedung Raja Abdullah, Kawasan 1, 41000 Klang, Selangor This is the only Victorian-style fire station in Malaysia, full of history and open to the public free of charge. After entering, the firefighters will take you to visit their museum, which contains firefighting records from various periods, old fire extinguishers and precious historical photos. 6⃣ Klang Royal Park 📍Address: Jalan Istana, Kawasan 1, 41200 Klang, Selangor There is a huge Keris monument (Tugu Keris) here. The Keris symbolizes strength and courage and was the sidearm of ancient Malay warriors. 7⃣ Qixiang Bak Kut Teh Every time I come to Klang, I will go to Qiao Di Bak Kut Teh shop because it is close to the KTM station. But this time the store was closed, so we used Grab to go to Qixiang Bak Kut Teh in North Klang. The taste was still great. These attractions in Klang have both historical and cultural atmosphere and strong exotic customs, making them perfect for a relaxing and enjoyable city stroll!

This time it was closed, so we took a Grab to Ki Heong Bak Kut Teh in the north of Klang, which was also delicious.

I've had the opportunity to visit many different onsens in various countries, each offering its own unique experience.

While I wouldn't rank this particular onsen I visited in Malaysia as one of the top places I've been to, it's still a good choice, especially if you're new to the onsen experience. (They've both public and private onsen)

The atmosphere here is welcoming, and it provides a great introduction to onsen bathing. And atleast, It's also not overcrowded... For those just starting out or looking for a relaxing experience, it’s a nice place to begin if you're near Kuala Lumpur. Klang or Selangor area. . The food aren't amazing, it's just so-so.

#hiddengems Located at KSL Esplanade Hotel Klang, this is a must visit place to chill and relax my mind and body. This hotspring is serene and spacious, got 3 differents tubs with different temperature up till 40 celcius. They provide me with an undergarment and served me a fine green tea after my onsen session. I was able to relax and the changing room was another level as they provided locker, towels, hair dryer and a huge vanity mirror. Open daily from 2 pm - 11pm.
