🌅Early in the morning, we headed to Telaga Pier with our backpacks and a map on our phone. We boarded the ferry to Koh Lipe, and 1.5-2 hours later, we were on our way to another world. We arrived at the port by 8 AM and picked up our tickets at the ticket office (roundtrip tickets were purchased on trip.com, costing about 3,000 rubles per person). Departure was at 10:30 AM. The staff checked for return tickets and a completed TDAC, and we went to the waiting area, which offered a beautiful view. As soon as boarding began, we were invited to go through customs, and then onto the ferry itself. And then came the most interesting and picturesque part... The views along the way were breathtaking: the jagged silhouettes of islands on the horizon, turquoise lagoons, and lonely fishing boats quietly cutting through the water. ⛴️The ferry crossing is a 1.5-hour photo hunt: turquoise waters, cliffs, and fishing boats. ‼️Before setting foot on Koh Lipe, you need to go through border control—the island has an international border crossing where entry into Thailand is processed. A small terminal is visible at the pier: several windows, counters, and a canopy where tourists fill out immigration cards. The process is usually as follows: · Show your passport (make sure it's valid for at least six months). · Fill out the TDAC. · Sometimes you'll be asked to show a return ticket or hotel reservation confirmation. · Staff will stamp your passport with an entry stamp—this can take 5-20 minutes, depending on the queue and season. During high season and holidays, the wait may be longer. We encountered friendly staff—a few smiles, a few cliches—and you're already in Thailand🇹🇭. 🌊Arriving on Koh Lipe was like entering a movie about a summer paradise. The sand is so white it feels like you're running through flour, palm trees sway in the sea breeze, and narrow paths lead to small cafes and thatched-roof bungalows. We checked into the A PLUSE DELUXE HOTEL. The hotel has a restaurant that includes breakfast and offers a 20% discount on lunch and dinner for the rest of your stay. The hotel left only pleasant impressions and was worth the money in every way 💯. The days on the island passed slowly and deliciously: ☀️Morning—snorkeling near coral reefs, where schools of colorful fish danced; Daytime – a beach where we were completely alone (we especially liked Sunset Beach, which we reached on foot in about 10 minutes at a leisurely pace); Evening – we watched the sunsets 🌅 they are unique here 😍 we were lucky to see a beautiful sunset every day. Days on Koh Lipe – moments that remain in photographs and memories 🥰 Special impressions: · Sunsets here are a whole other world: the sky shimmers from gold to purple, and it seems as if an artist is trying to surprise us again every evening 🌅 · Night walks along the shore – the stars are so bright you can count them in the palm of your hand, and the light from the fishing boats adds a touch of vibe. 🌌 · Simple joys: a coconut cut open at the perfect moment when you need some refreshment and the smiles of people working in small cafes. ‼️Useful to bring: · Cash – there isn't always an ATM on the island It's in good working order. · A good sunscreen/sunscreen and a protective shirt—the sun is real here. · A mask and fins—the reef right offshore is worth spending a couple of hours there. · Book ferry tickets in advance during high season and be patient—the schedule can be weather-dependent. · Have your passport on hand and a printed/electronic copy of your ticket or reservation—for a smooth border crossing. Koh Lipe is a place where time seems to slow down and you want to stay longer. When we returned, we brought back not only photos but also a desire to return—for that same sound of the surf, for fried shrimp, and for another sunrise. Langkawi gave me many beautiful views, but this one at Hidden Langkawi might just be my favourite. 🌴🌊 I came here for the sunset, and the view definitely did not disappoint. Sitting by the beach, feeling the sea breeze and watching the sky slowly change from blue into beautiful shades of orange and gold… this was one of those moments where I just wanted to sit there and enjoy it without rushing anywhere. 🌅 📍 Place: Hidden Langkawi 🌴 Area: Pantai Tengah, Langkawi, Kedah 🌅 Best time to visit: Come in the late afternoon so you can settle in before sunset 📸 Photo tip: Stay through golden hour — the colours over the sea can change very quickly 💡 Travel tip: If sunset is your main reason for visiting, arrive earlier to get a good spot, especially on busy days 💰 Budget tip: Your spending will depend on what you order, so check the latest menu and prices when you visit. S$120 return from Singapore to Langkawi caught my attention. The dates are 20–24 September 2026, flying direct on AirAsia. The timings are surprisingly convenient too — 10:50am out of Singapore and 12:05pm back from Langkawi. No red-eye and no painfully early start. There are catches. The fare is non-refundable, there’s no free checked baggage, and the booking notice says passengers should follow AirAsia’s online check-in instructions and bring their e-boarding pass. But for someone who can travel with just a carry-on, S$120 for two direct flights and four nights in Langkawi is difficult to argue with. For me, this crosses into Deep Value territory. #easytravelpost Airport lounges are one of those travel extras that can look unnecessary until you have a long connection, an early departure, several hours to kill before boarding — or simply arrive at the airport tired, hungry and in desperate need of somewhere comfortable to sit. That’s why for my easy travel posts I want to show not only beautiful lounges, but the practical side too: what do you actually get once you’re inside, and does it make your airport experience easier? At Plaza Premium Lounge, KLIA Terminal 1, the answer for me is definitely yes. First of all, one of the biggest advantages is that the lounge is open 24 hours. That makes it especially useful at an airport like Kuala Lumpur, where international flights leave at all possible hours and connections can be long. 🍽️ THE FOOD This is not a lounge where you’re limited to a couple of cookies, chips and coffee. There is a proper buffet with several hot dishes, sides, vegetables and lighter options, so you can actually have a full meal before your flight. And that makes a difference. Airport food can become surprisingly expensive, especially if you need a proper meal plus coffee, water and something else before boarding. When all of that is already included with your lounge visit, the value of access starts to make much more sense. There are also snacks and smaller options if you don’t want a full meal, as well as tea, coffee and other drinks. My tip: walk around the whole food area before filling your plate. Airport lounge buffets often have different sections, and it’s easy to take the first thing you see and then discover something much better around the corner. 😄 🛋️ THE LOUNGE ITSELF The biggest luxury here isn’t necessarily the food. It’s having your own comfortable space away from the departure gate. You can sit down properly, eat without balancing everything on your suitcase, charge your devices, work, scroll through your photos from the trip or simply do absolutely nothing for an hour before boarding. And after weeks of travelling, that “do absolutely nothing” part becomes surprisingly valuable. The lounge offers: · comfortable seating · dining areas · hot and cold food · snacks · coffee, tea and drinks · Wi-Fi · charging facilities · rest areas · toilets · shower facilities 🚿 · 24-hour opening 📱 CHARGE EVERYTHING One of my personal airport rules: if you’re in a lounge, this is the moment to charge everything. Phone. Power bank. Headphones. Laptop. You never know when your next airport will have inconvenient sockets, when your flight might be delayed or when you’ll need your phone immediately after landing for transportation, hotel directions or immigration information. So even if your battery is still at 60–70%, use the opportunity. 🚿 AND YES — THERE ARE SHOWERS This might actually be one of the most useful facilities here, especially if you’re connecting between flights or travelling through Southeast Asia in hot weather. But there’s an important detail: don’t assume you can simply walk into a shower whenever you want. There is a reservation system. You scan the QR code, enter your details and join a digital waiting list. Then you can return to the lounge, eat or relax instead of physically standing in a queue. When your turn comes, you receive a notification. 💡 Very important Easy Travel tip: if you want to shower, register for the queue as soon as you arrive. The showers can be popular, and depending on how busy the lounge is, there may be a wait. If your flight boards in an hour and you only then decide you want a shower, it might simply be too late. So my perfect order would be: Enter lounge → register for shower → eat → charge devices → shower → boarding. Much more efficient. 🚿 The shower rooms themselves are private, giving you space to freshen up and change clothes before your flight. And after a full day of travelling, a long connection or simply several hours in Kuala Lumpur’s heat, stepping onto your next flight freshly showered and in clean clothes feels like a surprisingly big upgrade. 👀 ONE THING TO KEEP IN MIND This lounge can get busy. So if you have enough time before your flight, I wouldn’t leave your visit until the last possible moment. Arriving a little earlier gives you much more chance to find a comfortable seat, have a relaxed meal and actually use the facilities instead of rushing through everything. 💰 DO YOU HAVE TO PAY? Not necessarily. Before purchasing lounge access separately, always check the benefits you already have. For example, depending on your status and available benefits, you may have complimentary airport lounge visits through the Trip.com loyalty program.
