Last time, a friend drove me to Beaverbrook, a typical English countryside estate in Surrey Hills. It took a full 3 minutes to drive from the outskirts to the hotel reception, passing through expansive greenery and various parking lots that reflect the luxurious lifestyle of Lord Beaverbrook in the past. Lord Beaverbrook, reportedly a friend of Churchill, is commemorated in the hotel's first-floor rooms with displays related to his newspaper, the Daily Express and Sunday Express, which once wielded significant influence over individuals' destinies. In his estate, he entertained numerous celebrities and distinguished individuals. Taking advantage of the good weather, my friend and I booked their "Love is in the Air" experience. This year's theme is love, in collaboration with Summerill & Bishop, adorning balloons with various red hearts, creating a warm ambiance amidst the flowing water in the courtyard. The set menu, plus service charge, costs approximately £168 per person.
