Leipzig 3 Days Itinerary
📍 Itinerary Overview
Just wrapped up an epic 3-day adventure in Leipzig for Christmas and OMG, it was FABULOUS! The whole city was buzzing with holiday energy, from jaw-dropping stone monuments to that cozy German winter magic everywhere. The culture, the lights, and all those festive feels? Next level! 🎅💫
🚩 Sightseeing Route
Day 1:
Touched down and went straight to Völkerschlachtdenkmal (Monument to the Battle of the Nations, Str. des 18. Oktober 100, 04299 Leipzig, open daily 10am–6pm). This place is MASSIVE—literal monument vibes, dramatic architecture, and moody skies for that picture-perfect Insta shot. You get to soak in history while low-key feeling like you’re on a movie set!
Then I floated into Leipzig’s magical old town Christmas market. Think twinkling fairy lights, the scent of roasted nuts and mulled wine, and Christmas trees sparkling everywhere—seriously, sooo good! All the feels.
Day 2:
Started with a free city walking tour—10/10 recommend. Our guide was a legend, serving up cool stories, little-known facts, and foodie recs for days.
Must-see stops included:
- Gewandhaus (Augustusplatz 8, 04109 Leipzig)—iconic concert hall
- Leipzig University—architecture goals!
- St. Nicholas Church (Nikolaikirchhof 3, 04109 Leipzig)—LOTS of history here
- Oper Leipzig (Augustusplatz 12, 04109 Leipzig)

- Bach Monument
Every spot had those “Pinterest dream board” vibes. You’ll totally get why Leipzig is called one of Germany’s prettiest cities!
Day 3:
Retail therapy = unlocked! Hit the City Mall for all the treat-yourself moments. In the evening, I leveled up and caught sunset from the Panorama Tower (Augustusplatz 9, 04109 Leipzig, open 9am–midnight). Those rooftop views? Mind-blowing 🤯! City lights, pastel skies, perfect holiday energy—the real MVP shot of my trip.
