Exploring the laid-back flavors of Sylt was 🔥—especially scoring a soup from the famous blue shack, SYLTER SUPPEN, under the sunny island skies 🌞. There’s something about chilling outdoors, queuing with locals, and soaking up salty sea air that just hits different!
Must-Visit Spot:
🛖 SYLTER SUPPEN (Friedrichstraße 27, Westerland, Sylt; usually open daily 11am–6pm). This vibrant blue shack is a local legend, serving up steaming bowls of soup that are the perfect pick-me-up after a walk on the dunes or a breezy beach day. Pro tip: Try the fish soup for a real taste of North Sea freshness—there’s a reason there’s always a queue! Look for sunny days for the best outdoor experience, and arrive early: it gets busy at lunch.
Travel Hacks:
🚲 Pro move: Rent a bike to explore Sylt’s coastline and save those euros on taxis or buses. Everything in Westerland is super walkable too!
💳 Cash is king at some outdoor vendors (including SYLTER SUPPEN)—so have a few euros handy.

List Beach
List Beach is located on the northernmost part of the German island of Sylt. It is known for its spectacular views and quieter atmosphere compared to other beaches on the island. Surrounded by vast sand dunes and the waves of the North Sea, List Beach is the perfect destination for nature lovers and those who want to enjoy some peace and quiet away from the crowds. List Beach offers a dramatic landscape with sand dunes, coastal meadows and the vast expanse of the ocean. The area is also the gateway to the Wadden Sea, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. In addition to relaxing, the beach also offers activities such as walking along the sand dunes, nature photography or simply enjoying the sea breeze. The strong winds also make it ideal for windsurfing and kitesurfing. Being located further away from the tourist centers, List Beach is usually quieter, providing a peaceful atmosphere that is suitable for those looking for peace and a more in-depth experience with nature. List Beach is the ideal place to enjoy the pristine and enchanting natural beauty of Sylt Island.

Sylt, Germany
The island of Sylt is part of the North Frisian region of Schleswig-Holstein and is known for its unique coastline shape.
It is an island in northern Germany extending into the North Sea. With an area of 99.14 square kilometers, it is the fourth largest island in Germany and the largest island in the North Sea. It is famous for its tourist attractions, especially Westland, Kampen and Wenningstedt-Bradrup, as well as 40 kilometers of white sandy beaches.
The media frequently reports on its exposure to the North Sea and its ongoing land loss during storm surges. Since 1927, Sylt has been connected to the mainland by the Hindenburg Causeway, making it the only island accessible by train. Whenever the tide is high, the sea water almost covers the entire causeway.
In later years it has been a resort for German jet-setters and tourists occasionally seeking celebrity. As far as I know, housing prices there are the highest in Germany, including in big cities like Berlin and Munich.
The biggest feature of the island is the houses. Except for the hotels, the roofs of ordinary houses are almost all covered with thick grass, and waterproof materials are placed in the middle of the grass, which ensures excellent warmth in winter. #greentourism #germanytravel #northsea #atlantic #island #islandholiday #deutschland #sylt
