Diary Sunday, February 1, 2026, Sunny Today I revisited the Military Revolution Museum. This is already my third time stepping inside, and my mindset is completely different from the previous two visits. During my first visit, my eyes were filled with the steel sharpness of planes and cannons, fascinated by the intricacy and power of the weapons, overwhelmed with awe; on the second visit, I paid attention to the background and purpose of various equipment, trying to understand the years behind each exhibit. But this time, my gaze gradually shifted away from the cold weapons, no longer fixated on the models and specifications of the equipment. Instead, I calmed my mind and carefully traced the course of the revolutionary journey, focusing all my attention on the Korean War exhibition area, reading the historical materials word by word, frame by frame, reflecting on those blood-stained details. From the decision for the Volunteer Army to enter Korea, to the deployment and fierce battles of each campaign, from soldiers’ letters home and relics, to the sacrifices and perseverance behind the victories, the words engraved on the exhibit walls, the moments frozen in photographs, and the restored battle scenes all stirred my emotions deeply. I realized that understanding history is more powerful than just seeing weapons. The steadfastness in the smoke of war and the struggle in desperate situations gave me a more genuine understanding of the word “hero” and added a profound appreciation for the peace we have today. Each of my three visits brought new insights. From looking at “equipment” to reading “history,” from feeling “shock” to realizing “heart,” every past story in this exhibition hall grows heavier with time. When I left the museum, the sunlight was just right, and I felt that today’s walk was not a tour but a dialogue with history, a spiritual cleansing etched deep in my heart.
