Instead, the bluestone paths are mostly filled with local elders sitting and chatting. When the breeze from the Yuan River blows, even your steps naturally slow down. You could spend half a day here and still feel like you haven’t seen enough🌿 🕘【Opening hours & best time to visit】 The ancient town is open all day. Core attractions inside are open from 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM. A visit of 4–6 hours is recommended. For fewer crowds, choose weekday mornings from 8 to 10 AM. The morning mist is still lingering, and the main street has very few visitors, perfect for capturing empty bluestone paths and stilted buildings. After 5 PM, the sunlight softens, making the Yuan River pier a great spot to watch the sunset. The town is suitable to visit year-round, with spring and autumn offering the most comfortable temperatures. During the Dragon Boat Festival, you can catch the dragon boat races. 💴【Tickets & discounts for seniors and students】 Public areas of the ancient town are free to enter. A combined ticket for core attractions (Jijia Mansion, Wanshou Palace, Army Prison, etc.) costs 88 yuan. Buying online in advance usually costs about 68 yuan. Visitors over 65 years old, children under 1.2 meters, and people with disability certificates are exempt from the combined ticket.
