Makarska is a small city in Croatia, located on the seaside. The scenery is super beautiful and there are many water activities. The hotel we stayed in can see the beautiful sea view and sunset. The sea water here is also very clear and comfortable. It is a place where people can relax. There are no Asian tourists here. It is a secret place. You must come here once if you have the chance.

I’d already heard how beautiful Croatia’s coastline was, but seeing it from the water is something else entirely. One minute you’re sailing past rugged islands and tiny coves, the next you’re swimming in crystal-clear water or wandering through a centuries-old stone town. 💙 After arriving in Dubrovnik from Sarajevo, we headed to Split and boarded a yacht for seven days of island-hopping along the Dalmatian coast. 🏰 Dubrovnik deserves more than the Game of Thrones checklist. Walk the old city walls, get lost in the alleyways and just enjoy how beautiful the whole place is. Keep an eye out for Buža Bar, tucked into the rocks just outside the walls — a pretty spectacular spot for a drink overlooking the Adriatic. 🦑 And eat some seafood! Find a restaurant near the water, order a cuttlefish risotto or a fresh seafood platter and settle in for the evening. Dubrovnik is at its best when you stop rushing between “must-see” sights and simply enjoy the atmosphere. ⛵ Sailing is such a good way to experience this part of Croatia. Wake up somewhere new, spend the day looking out over the islands and make completely unplanned swimming stops whenever the water looks too inviting to resist — which is often. 🛵 On the larger islands, hire a scooter and explore. Mljet was perfect for this: quiet roads, olive groves, tiny villages and the chance to turn down a random road and find a secluded little beach. 🏘️ And every stop feels slightly different. Korčula is all stone lanes, old buildings and a beautifully atmospheric waterfront; Hvar feels noticeably livelier, with a harbour full of yachts and plenty happening after dark; while Bol is a great place to slow things down again and spend some time by the sea. Makarska is another memorable stop, squeezed between the Adriatic and the dramatic mountains rising almost straight behind the town 🍻 The island towns themselves aren't huge, but that's part of the appeal. Historic buildings, narrow alleyways, waterfront cafés and harbours packed with boats make them great places simply to wander. And during the summer season, even some of the smaller towns have lively bars, music and plenty of places for a fun night out with friends. Seven days on a yacht gives you enough time to see just how varied the Dalmatian coast really is — waking up somewhere new, diving into the Adriatic whenever the mood strikes, and ending each day in another beautiful little harbour town. It’s a pretty special way to experience Croatia. 🇭🇷⛵🌊

5 things you need to know before visiting Makarska, Croatia 🇭🇷 🚌 How to get there You can get to Makarska by bus from other Croatian destinations, such as Dubrovnik and Split. You can book buses on @flixbus. ⏱ How long to stay I would recommend a minimum of 3 nights in Makarska. You could also stay longer, even up to a week, if you want to spend plenty of time on the beach and exploring nearby towns and beaches. 🗓 Best time to visit I’d recommend visiting in the spring or fall, because the weather is pleasant, it’s not too crowded, and accommodation is cheaper. If you visit in July-August, be prepared for it to be pretty crowded and hot. I think late May, early June, late September, and early October are great times to visit. 📑 What to do 1. Swim at Makarska Beach 2. Swim at Osejava Beach 3. See the view from Monument of St. Peter 4. Take a boat tour to Hvar 5. Visit the old town and St Mark’s Square 6. Walk the Makarska Riva waterfront promenade 7. Swim at Beach Biloševac 8. Swim/rent a pedal boat at Tučepi beach 9. Take (half) day trips to nearby towns like Baška Voda, Brela & Omiš 10. Visit Skywalk Biokovo 💸 How much to budget I would call Makarska a midrange destination. You can find decently priced accommodations, typically cheaper than in Dubrovnik and many Western European beach destinations, but it’s not as affordable as many other towns in the Balkans. I would recommend a budget of about €40-80/day for budget travelers in shoulder season and €50-100/day in peak season. Budget more if you are a midrange or luxury traveler.

#easytravelpost Biokovo Nature Park sits above Makarska — the Skywalk is a horseshoe glass platform at 1,228 m on Ravna Vlaška, reached by the park road (€10/car + €8/person high season, card at the booth, 10 km from Makarska). The mossy half isn't at the Skywalk (exposed karst) — it's the ~3 km Botanical Trail from the Vošac viewpoint (1,428 m) down through hop-hornbeam, pine and juniper where Sphagnum pads the sinkhole seep and Thuidium films the beech bark. No separate trail fee — covered by park entry. I took a Makarska–Biokovo shuttle (€15 return, cash), started 8 a.m. in May. Day 28°C coast, 12°C at Vošac, moss silver at dawn. Wore trail-runners; the botanical trail is cut stone then karst, slippery after rain. Mistake: I drove the park road in a rental at 1 p.m. in August — 10 km of 1-lane switchbacks, met the shuttle bus, reversed 150 m to a turnout, 25 min lost, €18 entry paid anyway. Shuttle or taxi. Second mistake: I stepped on the Skywalk glass "for the photo" at noon — glare white-out, Adriatic invisible, moss irrelevant up there; dawn is the only honest hour. Third: I picked an edelweiss (Leontopodium) on the karst — ranger: "protected alpine, 150 € fine, that's a 10-yr bloom". Buy in Makarska: a 5 € sardine plate, not the 30 € Riviera. Gear: 1.5 L water, 50 € shell, 25 € fleece — Biokovo drops to 7°C. Local rule: €10 car + €8 pp (or €15 shuttle covers entry), no drones, stay on Vošac botanical trail, Skywalk is a 5-min photo not a hike. The moss in the sinkhole seep is the karst's secret — step on cut stone. Opinion: Biokovo sells the glass Skywalk; the mossy botanical trail down from Vošac is the 60-min half with zero Instagram queue. Should the park plank 300 m of the seep and fold it into the €8 ticket explainer, or keep it self-guided? I'd plank it. Would you shuttle 10 km up a karst massif for a mossy sinkhole trail above the Adriatic?

Sveti Jure (Saint George) is totally the king of the Biokovo mountain range, standing tall at a wild 1,762 meters (5,781 feet) above sea level! 🤩 If you’re anywhere near the dreamy coastal town of Makarska, you can’t miss this epic peak—it’s literally the second-highest in all of Croatia, so bragging rights are included. Here’s the scoop: Sveti Jure is the crown jewel of Biokovo Nature Park, which means it’s surrounded by jaw-dropping scenery, switchback roads, and "Did I just land on another planet?" vibes all around. The drive up is part adventure, part adrenaline rush, as you weave your way through sharp twists and turns, catching sneak peeks of the shimmering Adriatic Sea below. If you love a good road trip with epic Insta content guaranteed, this one’s got your name on it! 🚗✨ The views from the top? Next-level! You’ll see the stretch of the Dalmatian coast, islands dotting the sea, and sometimes—if you’re lucky—a cloud carpet rolling in below. Perfect for sunrise chasers, hikers, and literally anyone who loves feeling on top of the world. Quick info drop: · Location: Biokovo Nature Park Entrance, Franjevački put, 21300 Makarska, Croatia · Nature Park entrance hours: Usually 6:00 AM – 8:00 PM (but check trip.com for updates before you go!) · Pro tip: Entry fee applies for vehicles. The summit is accessible by car, cycling, or if you’re feeling fit, a rewarding (but steep!) hike. Add Sveti Jure to your Croatia bucket list ASAP for those "woah, am I in a movie?" moments. See you at the top! 🏔️✨ #SvetiJure #mountainview #croatianature #travel2026

Croatia

Croatia's capital, Zagreb, is a city where grand Austro-Hungarian architecture, rich cultural heritage, and peaceful parks come together to create an atmosphere that is both elegant and welcoming. A visit begins at the Art Pavilion, the oldest purpose-built art exhibition hall in Southeast Europe. Since the late 19th century, its striking yellow façade and magnificent exhibition spaces have hosted countless masterpieces, making it one of Zagreb's cultural landmarks. Just beyond stands the imposing King Tomislav Monument, dedicated to Tomislav I, Croatia's first king. Mounted proudly on horseback and holding the royal sceptre, the monument symbolises the birth of the Croatian kingdom and remains one of the city's most recognisable landmarks. For a quieter escape, stroll into the Zagreb Botanical Garden, an oasis of lush greenery in the heart of the city. Winding paths lead through colourful flower beds, tranquil ponds, and collections of native and exotic plants, while the charming little red house adds a storybook touch to the peaceful surroundings. Whether exploring galleries, admiring historic monuments, or relaxing beneath centuries-old trees, Zagreb reveals itself as a city where art, history, and nature exist in perfect harmony. 📍 Location: Zagreb, Croatia 🎨 Highlight: A cultural capital blending historic architecture, celebrated museums, and tranquil gardens 🌿 Feature: Art Pavilion, King Tomislav Monument, Botanical Garden, elegant boulevards, and Austro-Hungarian architecture 🍃 Atmosphere: Sophisticated, peaceful, and full of timeless European charm 📸 Best for: Cultural exploration, architecture photography, museum visits, and leisurely city walks ✨ Signature feeling: Discovering a city where every square, gallery, and garden reflects Croatia's rich history and enduring elegance. #winterescape it was a perfect trip to Croatia. It was amazing and food was very tasty. We stayed in apartment near the sea. It has a beautiful view. There are a lot of different tasty restaurants along the sea. I love my vacation to Croatia and I would like to visit exactly this place one more time. 📍 Makarska, Croatia While traveling from Dubrovnik to Split, I stopped by the small town of Makarska. The beach here is absolutely stunning! However, since Croatian beaches are mostly pebbly, wearing proper footwear is a must. As I gazed endlessly at the sea view, I couldn't help but feel the strong urge to swim. The water is incredibly clear, and you can see right through to the bottom. Croatia's waters are truly pristine, making it the perfect spot to park your car and dive in for a swim. Essentials: · Swimsuit · Aqua shoes Highly recommend Makarska Beach!

Hello, Today, I want to introduce you to Bounty, an atmospheric restaurant in the small town of Makarska, which I visited during my trip to Croatia. I stopped by here while traveling from Dubrovnik to Split. This restaurant offers stunning seaside views. Right in front of the restaurant, you can see the beautiful ocean stretching out. Many people were freely sitting and swimming right in front of the restaurant. I regretted not wearing my swimsuit! The ribs were delicious, the ambiance was great, and I highly recommend this place.

📍 Makarska, Croatia Makarska was the first small town I visited in Croatia. After having a meal at a beachside restaurant, I headed to a viewpoint in Makarska that I had looked up beforehand. Search for 'spomenik sv. petra' on Google Maps to find it. I discovered this spot while browsing Google Maps. The view of the emerald sea from here was breathtaking, showcasing the beauty of the small town of Makarska in Croatia. There is also a statue of Saint Peter holding the keys to heaven.

📍Makarska, Croatia Hello, Croatia is home to many charming small towns. Among the ones I visited, I highly recommend Makarska, a beautiful Croatian town I stopped by on my way from Dubrovnik to Split. Makarska was the first small town I encountered in Croatia. On one side of the town, there is a stunning blue beach where people enjoy swimming, while on the other side, there is a harbor filled with various boats and yachts of different sizes.

#croatianislands On Croatia’s stunning Adriatic coast, the little seaside town of Marčaska offers one of the most magical experiences: enjoying fresh seafood while sitting just steps away from the turquoise sea. #Marčaska #Croatia 📖 A bit of history Marčaska is a charming fishing village with roots dating back to Roman times. Its narrow streets, traditional stone houses, and relaxed vibe make it the perfect escape for those seeking an authentic Croatian experience. 🍽 Why lunch here is unforgettable ✔️ The restaurants along the waterfront serve the freshest catches—think grilled fish, calamari, and mussels with a touch of local olive oil and herbs. ✔️ First-line seating means you’ll dine to the sound of gentle waves and a sea breeze on your skin. ✔️ Average prices: mains €12–20, a glass of local wine €3–5, making it affordable luxury. 🚗 How to get there Marčaska is about a 1-hour drive from #Split or a short ferry hop if you’re exploring the Dalmatian islands. I booked my car rental on Trip.com, which gave me the flexibility to discover hidden gems like this. 🌟 Why I loved it There’s something magical about savoring seafood with such a stunning backdrop. It felt like a perfect moment of slow travel, where you can truly relax and appreciate life by the Adriatic. 📌 Tip: Go for a late lunch and stay to watch the sunset—the golden light over the water is spectacular for photos.

#croatianislands On the southern coast of #Brač island in #Croatia lies the charming town of Bol, home to the famous Zlatni Rat beach and breathtaking Adriatic views. Staying in Bol was already a dream—but booking Luxury Seaside Apartments made it unforgettable. From the moment I stepped onto the terrace, I realized I had found one of the best views in the world. 📍 Where is Bol and how to get there? Bol is located on Brač, one of Croatia’s most stunning islands. To reach it, I took a ferry from #Split to Supetar (about 1 hour) and then drove across the island. Booking my ferry and car through Trip.com made the journey seamless. 🌟 Why I loved Luxury Seaside Apartments ✔️ First-line beach views: The terrace overlooked the crystal-clear Adriatic waters, and every sunrise felt like a private show. ✔️ Modern comfort: The apartment was spacious, stylish, and perfect for unwinding after a day exploring. ✔️ Perfect location: Just steps away from Zlatni Rat and the charming Bol promenade. 🍷 Sitting on the terrace with a glass of Croatian wine while watching the sunset over the Adriatic was pure magic. It’s ideal for couples, solo travelers, or anyone wanting to experience Bol in style. 📌 Tip: Book early during summer months as this spot fills up fast—it’s worth every moment.

#celebrateit Makarska is a great place to be when travelling across the Makarska Riviera. The small city is surrounded by the Adriatic sea on one side and the Biokovo mountain ranges on the other side. The scenic beauty and the moderate temperatures make it a perfect family getaway during the weekends. Beautiful beaches are the city's highlight and the turquoise blue waters along the pebbled coastline add to the city's glory spots. Makarska, a small city on the Adriatic coast is one of the most visited tourist spots in Croatia. Unlike other urban cities in the country including the nearing city of Split, Makarska has quite less number of histoical or architectural tourist spots. The city is majorly known for its white sandy beaches and easy connectivity to other nearby islands on the Adriatic coast.

#European travel ✔️ Makarska. Croatia Among the small cities I've been to, I recommend Makarska, a beautiful Croatian small city that I stopped by on the way from Dubrovnik to Split. You can see the whole town from the statue of St. Peter Makarska, a peaceful-looking port town, I only stopped by for a short while, but it was a small city with a nice atmosphere that I'd like to stay there if I ever come back. #summerdestinations I just spent a wonderful day at Makarska Beach in Croatia, and it was absolutely perfect! The beach itself is free to access and offers stunning views of the Adriatic Sea with its clear turquoise waters and pebbly shoreline. It’s great for swimming and lounging under the sun. Nearby, I explored the charming town of Makarska, with its lovely promenade lined with cafes and shops. I also took a leisurely walk up to the nearby Biokovo Mountain for breathtaking panoramic views of the coastline. The fresh sea breeze and picturesque landscape made the hike well worth it.
