Recently, my husband and I decided to bring our child to stay at one of the most kids friendly hotels in Melaka. It is actually the first hotel in Malaysia with slide themed rooms, and there are 9 different themes to choose from. The hotel is located in Melaka city around Melaka Raya, about 5 to 7 minutes drive from A Famosa. If you are driving, there are plenty of parking spaces and the location is easy to find. The service counter operates from 8am to 9pm. If you plan to check in after 9pm, just inform them via WhatsApp and they will guide you for self check in. The check in and check out process is very smooth. No deposit is needed, you just need to sign a simple form about the house rules. One unique thing about this hotel is that you have to remove your shoes once you enter. So throughout your stay, you will not be wearing shoes inside. You can place your shoes on the racks based on your room type. There is also an elevator for rooms on higher floors. My room, the Pumpkin room, was located right at the lobby so it was very easy to access the kids gym, lobby play area, swimming pool and front desk. During check in, the staff will give you socks to use in the lobby play area. Inside the room, you do not need socks. The lobby has two castles with spiral slides. There is also a kids gym with real gym equipment made for kids. Even the weights are not just soft toys, they actually have weight but are still safe for kids. There is also a Lego area, TV area, snacks section, plushies, toys and even a massage chair which is free and can be used unlimited times. The hotel also has normal rooms but the Pumpkin room is one of the biggest at around 66 square meters. My child had so much space to run around. The room is very vibrant with a pumpkin theme. It comes with one indoor slide, two queen beds, one for adults and one for kids, a play area, wardrobe, water dispenser, mini fridge, TV with Netflix, plugs, side tables and a small dining table. The toilet is also very spacious. There is a huge bathtub that can fit 3 to 4 adults sitting. There is also a cute mini sink for kids, basic toiletries for both adults and kids, towels, a hairdryer and a big mirror with lighting. This hotel is truly made for kids and they really prioritize them. The Pumpkin room is very cute and vibrant. When kids are happy, parents will automatically feel happy too. Once they are tired from playing, they fall asleep easily. When their nervous system is well regulated, kids become easier and parents can finally relax. A few things that would be helpful if provided but not a big issue if not are iron with ironing board and a bigger dining table. Other than that, I really have nothing to complain about. Flew Scoot TR421 from Melaka to Singapore, and this route is probably one of the shortest flights in and out of Singapore. It’s more like a quick hop in the air rather than a typical flight. The aircraft used was the Embraer E190, and it was actually my first time flying on this aircraft type. The cabin is configured entirely in economy class, which fits the low-cost carrier model. Despite being a smaller aircraft, the ride felt smooth and comfortable for such a short journey. Because the flight time is very short and Scoot operates as a low-cost carrier, there is no complimentary meal service onboard. If you didn’t pre-order food, then nothing is served during the flight — though honestly, the flight is so short that it hardly matters. It’s recommended to visit at dusk to avoid the scorching sun and enjoy the city skyline as the lights come on, making for great photo vibes. 📍 Batu Caves Rainbow Staircase The 272-step colorful staircase is very photogenic, but the monkeys here are like “robbers” — if you’re not careful, they’ll snatch your snacks or sunglasses. It’s best to travel light and don’t carry food in your hands, or you might end up in a “human vs. monkey” battle. 📍 Stadthuys (Red Square), Malacca The Dutch Red Square is a must-visit spot in Malacca, and the red walls are perfect for vintage-style photos. However, the midday sun is so scorching it could fry an egg, and the ground is too hot to stand on. It’s better to go early morning or late afternoon when the light is softer, and you can also stroll around the nearby Jonker Street Night Market. 📍 Love Lane, Penang This narrow lane is famous for its murals and street art, great for photo check-ins. But the alley is narrow and gets very crowded when there are many tourists, so getting a photo without people depends on luck.
