The First Underwater Sculpture Museum
The first underwater museum in the Mediterranean region: The Museum of Underwater Sculpture Ayia Napa (M.U.S.A.N.) in Cyprus, created by sculptor Jason deCaires Taylor. The theme is marine environmental protection.
MUSAN features 93 underwater sculptures, known as the world's first underwater forest, with trees, playing children, and some whimsical characters. The water depth is only ten meters, making it very friendly for beginner divers.
In addition to Cyprus, there are underwater sculpture museums in Cancun, Mexico, the Great Barrier Reef in Australia, and Lanzarote in Spain.
