Whenever people ask me where to stay on Turkey's coast, I always struggle to give a simple answer because Antalya, Side and Bodrum all offer something completely different. After spending time in all three, here's my honest comparison. 🌴 Antalya – Best for convenience and variety If it's your first visit to Turkey, Antalya is probably the easiest choice. The airport is only around 20-30 minutes from many of the popular Lara Beach hotels, which means you can be by the pool not long after landing. Some of the standout hotels here include the Titanic Mardan Palace, Delphin Imperial and Concorde De Luxe Resort. What I enjoyed most was the variety. One day you can be relaxing on the beach, the next exploring Kaleiçi (the old town), taking a boat trip or visiting Düden Waterfalls.The food scene is excellent too. Most all-inclusive hotels offer huge buffet selections, but I'd also recommend venturing into the city for authentic Turkish kebabs, fresh seafood and traditional meze. 🏛️ Side – Best mix of beach and history Side surprised me the most. The transfer from Antalya Airport is longer, usually around an hour depending on traffic, but I found the extra journey worth it. Hotels like Barut Hemera, Acanthus Cennet Barut Collection and Paloma Finesse offer fantastic beachfront locations and excellent service. What makes Side special is the atmosphere. You can spend the morning on a beautiful sandy beach and then walk among ancient Roman ruins in the afternoon. The Temple of Apollo at sunset is one of the most memorable views I've experienced in Turkey. The food felt slightly more relaxed and authentic compared to some larger resort areas. Many seafront restaurants serve freshly caught fish with stunning sea views. ⚓ Bodrum – Best for scenery and lifestyle Bodrum feels different from both Antalya and Side. It's more stylish, more upscale and has a distinctly Aegean feel. The whitewashed buildings and marina give it a character that reminds some people of the Greek islands. Popular hotels include Voyage Torba, Titanic Luxury Collection Bodrum and Lujo Hotel. The airport transfer is often between 30 and 45 minutes depending on where you're staying. For me, Bodrum offers some of the most beautiful coastal scenery in Turkey. The water is incredibly clear and boat trips around the bays are a must. The dining scene is probably the strongest of the three destinations. Beyond the hotel restaurants, you'll find excellent seafood restaurants, waterfront dining and lively evening atmospheres around the marina. ⭐ My personal verdict: If convenience is your priority, I'd choose Antalya. If you want the best balance of beaches, history and relaxation, I'd choose Side. If you're looking for stunning scenery, marina life and amazing food, Bodrum would be my pick. My best friend and I, both in our 60s, recently took a DayTrip from Marmaris to Ephesus, Turkey, and we couldn’t have been happier with our driver, Erhan Yikilmaz, and his wonderful wife Marina. They greeted us warmly at the airport and transported us in Erhan's exceptionally comfortable Mercedes van. Along the route, we visited fascinating historical sites such as Iasos Agorasi and Euromos. We spent several incredible days exploring Ephesus and Selcuk. On the way back to Marmaris, Erhan made sure we visited additional remarkable locations, including Magnesia Antik Kenti, which was truly breathtaking. He also arranged for us to enjoy an amazing lunch at a charming lakeside restaurant in Akyaka. The entire trip surpassed our expectations in every way. This was my fourth experience with DayTrip, and each time has been outstanding!

The room is spacious and comfortable, the ambiance was exotic, a nature haven. The staff was polite and helpful, to he beach fantastic, the pools also. All the restaurants are al a carte with an impressive menu with plenty of choises that can fulfill all kinds of expectations. My favorite one is Sorriso, the Italian restaurant, not only for the delicious dishes over there, but for the distinguished high quality of service. Because the hotel is in a bay, the water is quiet as a lake, so you can swim quietly without the stress caused by the waves. The very white sand was transported directly from the Egypt so it’s not too hot during the hottest days
