Living on rural areas, provinces is actually quite awesome, simple living at its finest, away from the hustle and bustle of big cities and you got to appreciate everything around you. The place reflects how Rizal lived a simple life where he built his own house which up to this day is still standing with some repairs. The Rizal Shrine will be forever be visited by a lot of Filipinos and foreigners who want to learn the history and life of Dr. Jose Rizal. Fun Fact, this wasn't the place where he initially settled. After a month landing in Dapitan City, Dr.Jose Rizal won the lottery in 1892 and used his money to purchase this place and turned it as his home. You don't need to pay to enter this hisotrical place. It's a local city in Mindanao, but there's a resort called Dapitan nearby, and it's a wonderful place. I stayed at a wonderful accommodation called Villa Marii in the city of Dipolog.
