This is Day 3 of the typical EBC hike where you have a relatively easy acclimatization hike to the EVEREST Viewpoint from Namche Market. Today is where you have a glimpse of the tallest mountain in the world, Mount Everest. There’s a cafe at the viewpoint where you can order drinks and enjoy the amazing view.

Here’s a wild ride: I set off on a 21-day Everest Base Camp & 3 High Pass adventure, crossing through Namche, Solukhumbu, and scenic Himalayan villages. The highlights? And if you feel off or get sick (like my wife did with food poisoning—oxygen dropped to 40%!), helicopter evacuations to Lukla are a real, safe option, which we did. Hence, buying travel insurance with evacuation plans are important. Getting Around: Most of this trek is on foot; pack light, stay hydrated, and go slow on ascent days to avoid altitude sickness. Food: Stick to simple, hygienic meals (dal bhat is a staple), and avoid uncooked foods to keep your stomach safe. Key Tips: Take the window seats on the left side for your flight from Kathmandu to Lukla, that’s where you have great views of the mountains. Cash is king—ATMs are rare and you have to pay for water, charging your phone and power bank etc by cash. #holidayseason 1 morning climb to Everest view point at an altitude of 3880m, where you can see Everest... then return to rest and shop. This is also a test of altitude for those who have never climbed above 3000m. Altitude sickness is almost the biggest obstacle for those who come to this EBC trekking route, besides health and cost. Starting a bit late, the slope to the top seemed easy but was too difficult. But the scenery that appeared was wonderful. On the right side was the majestic snow-covered mountain peak, on the left was Kongde Ri peak, below was Namche town. But then that beautiful scenery did not last long, the sky began to get foggy, clouds rolled in, blocking the view and bringing a shivering cold. The first days, if you only felt the cold in the early morning and late afternoon, when standing still. But today, the cold seeped through each layer of clothes, making you shiver. Note: You should bring warm gloves and socks. Especially windproof and waterproof gloves. The path along the edge of the cliff is dangerous, you don't have to give way to yaks, donkeys... today, there are mainly the sounds of trekkers greeting each other. Everyone is a bit excited, mixed with anxiety when looking up into the distance, Everest disappears behind the thick fog. And what comes will come, the view point located in the Everest View Hotel is covered in fog even though it is noon, the temperature is only about 1 degree Celsius. This hotel is 3880 meters high, has rooms and balconies, warm rooms to be able to look straight at the top of Everest, so it attracts many visitors to climb here. However, the best time to see Everest from here is around 8am, when the sun has just risen and the sky is clearer. For those who are not healthy enough or in good condition to climb Everest Base Camp, they can book helicopter tours to fly up here to drink coffee and watch Everest and then return.
