When you think of Naples, Spaccanapoli comes to mind! This area is lined with souvenir shops and eateries. I finally tried Aperol, which I had been curious about for a long time! It came in a very convenient size and was just perfect. It was delicious☺️ And the place I was dying to visit, L'Antica Pizzeria Da Michele💁 This is a famous spot for Neapolitan pizza. I arrived around 10:20 and successfully got a seat! I even sat in the seat Julia Roberts had used. Haha. The pizzas are much larger than you might expect. The three of us shared two pizzas and were completely full! Each pizza costs €6, and a bottle of juice is €2.5, making it a very affordable and popular restaurant. Lastly, I tried a donut-like dessert sold at the station! It was soft and fluffy, and incredibly delicious!! I enjoyed it on the train.

#cityplaybook It’s the best way to explore Naples as we had! Came there by cruise ship and had full day for this chaotic, lively, cheerful, and colorful city. The capital of the Campania region is one of the most authentic cities in Italy. Naples boasts many traces of history and different cultures that have developed over the centuries. For that reason, it became a Unesco World Heritage Site. 1. We started at Piazza del Plebiscito is one of Naples's highlights and prominent landmarks. This symbolic square housed the popular referendum that sanctioned the union of the Kingdom of Sardinia with the Kingdom of the Two Sicilies in 1860. It was a crucial event that led to the creation of Italy as a unified country in 1861. 2. The Royal Palace of Naples faces the colonnade of San Francesco di Paola, on the opposite side of Piazza del Plebiscito. The size and splendor of this royal palace are a great example of the Bourbon dynasty. 3. Galleria Umberto I is a shopping arcade lined with shops and cafes. The main highlights are the richly decorated neoclassical facades and the giant 56-meter dome, creating a fascinating sense of light and space. The architectural elements of the Galleria Umberto I are reminiscent of the famous Galleria Vittorio Emanuele Il in Milan. 4. The monastery of Santa Chiara in Naples was one of the highlights of our trip. Santa Chiara is actually a vast complex encompassing the basilica, tombs of eminent people, and the abbey. Sadly, the World War II bombings severely damaged the basilica, destroying many art pieces and frescoes, including those from Giotto. What else to do: • eat pizza Napolitana • drink limoncello • be very careful about pit pockets

A day trip from Rome to Naples! Why just a day trip, you ask? Well, Naples is known for having a bit of a reputation when it comes to safety... So, being a bit cautious, I decided to explore Naples as a day trip from Rome. But it's just a few hours by train! Naples is a smaller city compared to Rome! Make sure to visit Castel Sant'Elmo for its amazing views! And of course, you can't miss Naples pizza! 🍕 I accidentally asked the staff for their recommendation and ended up with a Marinara, so I missed out on trying a Margherita. But you absolutely must try the Margherita! 😂 It's best to visit pizzerias right after they open! At first glance, they might seem like they're only doing takeout, but many actually have dine-in options, so be sure to ask the staff! Other must-dos include checking out the Galleria and trying Naples' famous dessert, Sfogliatella—a pastry with multiple layers of dough. You can snack on it while walking around! The city is also filled with tributes to the legendary Maradona, which is quite amusing.

If you go around 6pm, it will be relatively empty, so if you don't want to line up, I recommend going early. The way to eat pizza in Italy is to eat one slice per person!
