My memories of Nerja are special. I met good people in a random place and had a great conversation, and I thought about the fulfillment that comes from the sea. As for me, I felt completely complete. The person I met for the first time and had a great conversation all night long left Nerja before me early in the morning, and I was thinking about staying in Nerja for another day, but in order to preserve the completeness, I left the sea that made me feel complete and went to the next city. The moment when everything was perfect is not eternal. They leave me. Spent the morning exploring the coast of Nerja by kayak. We joined a guided tour from Burriana Beach and it was so worth it. We paddled past sea caves, hidden coves, and the stunning Maro waterfall, where fresh water spills right into the sea. The water was super blue and crystal clear; you could see fish darting below the kayak 🐠💦. After a quick swim and some beach time, we wandered into town and found Nybakat, a cozy Scandinavian café with unreal pastries and, in my opinion, the best coffee in Nerja ☕🥐. The cardamom bun is a must. If you’re driving, there’s plenty of parking along the Burriana Boulevard, just a short walk from the beach, super easy even in summer. This is Balcón de Europa. Literally meaning "Balcony of Europe," this observation deck offers panoramic views of the Mediterranean Sea and the Costa del Sol coastline, and is a signature landmark of Nerja!🏘 As soon as I entered the plaza, the boundless panorama of the Mediterranean Sea filled my vision. As I approached the railing, the azure sea stretched out before me, stretching to the horizon. The water's color changed constantly, from pale emerald to deep cobalt blue, as the sunlight bathed it. The sound of the waves crashing against the cliffs below echoed softly from the balcony. Small beaches line both sides of the observation deck. To the left, the cozy Playa Calahonda Beach, and to the right, the breathtaking coastline stretches all the way to Burjana Beach. On clear days, the silhouette of the African continent can even be faintly seen in the distance. ⛰️ In the center of the plaza stands a statue of King Alfonso XII of Spain, a beloved Nerja. On the Spanish Mediterranean Coast, Malaga is the perfect city to explore for a few days. You can easily fly into Malaga airport, 3 and half hours from London. From there the city centre is a short busy ride with public transport, easy and cheap. There is plenty of accommodation in the city centre and I recommend that as then you can walk everywhere. There is plenty of beautiful sights to see like the Picasso museum, Alcazaba, Carmen Thyssen museum and the Gibralfaro castle. Also for day trips I suggest Frigiliana, nice quaint town, that reminds you of Santorini with all the white and blue painted houses. Nerja has a fantastic beach, Malagueta is nice but artificial so not as pretty and gets deep quickly compared to the beautiful beaches in Nerja. Finally Ronda, the bridge is majestic to see on real life and can learn more about bull fighting. Not but not least, the food! It has been confirmed that Cro-Magnon people lived there about 20,000 years ago. There is an audio guide in Japanese, and it wasn't crowded, so we walked around at our own pace listening to the guide. Even though it's hot outside, it's very cool inside, so be sure to bring something to put on! ...

If you plan to travel to Spain, don’t forget to add Malaga, Nerja and Frigiliana in your itinerary. These are places with nice scenery and good food. You will end up taking plenty of photoshoots. Stay in Malaga for 2-3 days. Explore the city for 1 day. Then take a day trip to Nerja via coach (approx an hour ride) and cost you euro 10/- for two way travel. You can then take a local bus to Frigiliana which is a 10 mins ride. Spend the entire day in Nerja and Frigiliana. You can either stay in these places for a night or head back to Malaga at night.
