Walking through the University of Delaware
On the morning of August 21, 2024, I strolled through Newark, Delaware, and walked along South College Ave to Newark Train Station. From north to south, I saw the beautiful campus of the University of Delaware, so I walked through it. The Georgian-style old houses from the North American colonial era were very eye-catching.
There is a long green space called "The Green" on the central axis of the main campus of the University of Delaware. The school buildings built in different periods are arranged in an orderly manner on the east and west sides, all facing this green belt. The place I walked through today used to be a women's college. According to the introduction, in 1920, one of the first female landscape designers in the United States, Marian Cruger Coffin, designed this southern lawn for the university. After connecting with the northern lawn starting from the south side of the main street, it formed "The Green" that extends south to Park Place.
When I returned from the train station, I simply walked through the campus again.
There is an introduction in front of each building. The DuPont family has made many contributions to the university.
Some areas of the university are under construction. I took the opportunity to recognize the buildings against the construction drawings.
After leaving the school, I returned to the New London community. The graffiti outside the record store "Wonderland Records" on the street corner had a different flavor.

Visit the main campus of the University of Delaware
On the morning of August 21, 2024, I walked on Main Street in Newark, Essex County, and saw the main campus of the University of Delaware. I went to visit the University of Delaware. Walking south along Main Street, there is a long green belt called "The Green". The buildings are distributed on the east and west sides, all facing the green belt in an orderly manner. Starting from the east side in a clockwise direction, to the Memorial Hall numbered 7; turn to the west side and return to the direction of Main Street. There are 13 old houses in the British Georgian architectural style. The houses are square and symmetrical, with large and square windows, fully reflecting the elegance and order of the university.
There is an introduction in front of each building. Either a famous person in the history of the university or a major donor to the school. In short, the buildings are named after people who have made great contributions to the school.
I mainly visited the Memorial Hall. The building was the school's original library and was later used to commemorate those who died in World War I. There is a memorial register, which is turned by a special person every day to commemorate. It has a sense of ceremony. It is also very educational for young people.
The campus is beautiful. It is very eye-catching all the way.
Later, I found out that there is a mystery under their big lawn. Pay attention to green and protect the environment at the same time.
It pays attention to history and keeps up with the needs of the times. It is a very good school.

A day in Delaware
Newark, Delaware is home to the university of Delaware and it is very much a student town. To get there, you can fly into Philadelphia and get the train.
The town has a Main Street with some shops, bars and restaurants on and there are lots of historical buildings that showcase some of the best architecture in the state. There are a few hotels and most are on the more expensive side with few hostels. There are lots of parks and nature around too
