[Exiv] You can stay even without a membership! [Nasu Shirakawa The Lodge]
Exiv in the snow – this was quite nice! ⛄️
This time, I stayed at the Grand Exiv Nasu Shirakawa The Lodge in Shirakawa, Fukushima.
This is a so-called "members-only resort," but the lodge building is relatively casual, which is a plus.
First of all, the location is superb, a highland resort with the Nasu mountain range as a backdrop.
The building has a European feel, which is nice and gives it a slightly overseas vibe.
· Access
It's easily accessible from Tokyo by Shinkansen (bullet train).
・Tohoku Shinkansen "Shin-Shirakawa Station" → Approximately 8-10 minutes by taxi
・By car, approximately 8 minutes from Shirakawa IC
・Free shuttle service is available if the timing is right.
It's quite luxurious to be so close to the station yet surrounded by nature.
· About Golf
Actually, a lot of people come here specifically for golf.
There's a course on the premises, and the advantage is that you can play a round directly from the hotel.
Moreover, the course is tournament-level and strategically designed – a truly professional setup.
...But this time
It was closed due to snow 😂
It was completely white,
and ironically, it felt even more like a resort.
· Hotel Impressions
· 55 guest rooms with a calm atmosphere
· Natural hot spring (open-air bath and sauna included)
· Spa and lounge also available, making it a proper resort
Even without playing golf, it's still very satisfying.
In fact, soaking in the hot spring amidst the snowy scenery is the best.
· Summary
Golfers → Should come during the best season
Non-golfers → Perfect for a regular resort visit
Although we couldn't play this time due to the snow,
This is a place where I'm definitely going to come back for revenge.
Next time, I'll come back to play a proper round 🏌️♂️

The moment I entered the shop, I was hit by the Showa retro atmosphere!
The calm space made it feel like time was passing slowly.
The curry, tiramisu, and sandwiches were all delicious, so I ended up staying for a long time.

A warm local Chinese restaurant in Nishigo Village, Shimi-saikan
#EnjoyJapan
I had dinner at "Shimisaikan" in Saigo Village, Fukushima Prefecture!
It's a restaurant loved by locals for its relaxed atmosphere that gives off the feeling of a traditional Chinese restaurant.
This time I ordered chili shrimp and fried tofu with thickened sauce.
The chili shrimp was plump and sweet, so it was fine even for those who don't like spicy food.
The fried tofu with thickened sauce had crunchy and chewy noodles with plenty of filling...I enjoyed the different textures and was very satisfied!
The chef is cooking by himself, so make sure you have plenty of time to go!
The deliciousness is worth it♪

Around 5:30pm, I happened to look out the window

A leisurely spring stroll at Shirakawa Fishing Park
#0 yen trip
I went to Masutsuri Park in Shirakawa, Fukushima!
The babbling of the river was soothing, and the double cherry blossoms were in full bloom. The fluffy, voluminous petals were elegant, and I was able to enjoy the spring mood!
The azaleas in the park were still in bloom, but the buds were swelling and I had a feeling that they would bloom beautifully soon.
Some people were having a picnic with their lunch boxes, and the idyllic atmosphere was pleasant. I didn't go fishing, but one of the attractions was that they would grill the fish I caught on the spot!

[Fukushima] Natural hot springs with natural spring water
Visited in November 2022
Shin-Koshi Onsen Miyamaso in Fukushima Prefecture
It is a sister hotel next to Gohoso😊
It is a retro Showa-era inn, but it is also famous as a "beautiful skin bath" and is loved by locals♨️
When you get out of the bath, your skin will be smooth and soft✨
You can really feel the effects of the hot spring😊
From the open-air bath, you can see the mountain scenery of the four seasons✨
