We were looking for something kid-friendly around Aso and were so glad to discover Rakunoh Mother’s Aso Milk Bokujo. This spacious farm turned out to be a great find—not just for the kids, but for us adults too. One of the highlights was how hands-on the experience was. The children loved interacting with the animals—feeding, petting, and just observing them up close. There were goats, cows, and many other farm animals roaming around the grounds. The surprise of the day? A goat race! It was lively and silly fun, and we even got to place bets on which goat would win. The kids got really into it, cheering for their chosen goat. The farm itself is quite spread out, making it a nice place to stroll and explore. One area of the farm demonstrated the milking process, which was both educational and entertaining, especially for the younger ones who had never seen it before. At the entrance, there’s a little shop selling fresh milk and other dairy products made on-site. The milk was incredibly fresh and creamy—it was such a treat. It’s the kind of place where you can really taste the difference. Overall, Rakunoh Mother’s Aso Milk Bokujo was a wholesome and enjoyable stop. The kids had a blast with all the animal interactions and fun activities, and I got to enjoy some of the freshest milk I’ve had in a while. The admission fee is reasonable at 400 yen for ages 3 and over, and a variety of activities are available, including milking, pony riding, and feeding. Handmade experiences such as making butter, cheese, and sausages are also popular, making it perfect for families. In addition, we recommend the buffet restaurant "Mother's Kitchen," where you can enjoy dishes made with fresh milk and cheese produced on the farm, and "Moo Moo Soft House," where you can taste rich soft serve ice cream. The vast grounds are filled with walking spots such as a splash pond and seasonal flower fields, so you can enjoy it all day long. It was a heartwarming experience to interact with animals and enjoy delicious food while enjoying the nature of Aso.

When thinking of famous spots in Aso, places like Mt. Aso and Kusasenri come to mind, but there are many other attractions as well! On the way to Mt. Aso, we stopped by Tawarayama Exchange Center, Moe no Sato, which has a cosmos field and a meadow. And within the grounds, there's an orange grove with a statue of Nami from One Piece! In Kumamoto, several One Piece character statues have been erected as part of a reconstruction support project. One of these is at Moe no Sato. It might be fun to make finding these One Piece character statues the goal of your trip! At Moe no Sato Exchange Center, you can buy locally grown vegetables, souvenirs, and light snacks from stalls, making it a great spot for a picnic lunch! It was summer, so the flowers🌻 were blooming and it was very beautiful! There were lots of animals, including cows🐮, horses🐎 and sheep🐏 (^^) They also sold milk, which was very delicious (^^) It seems like you can try out a lot of different things, so it's a fun place to bring your kids too! Bokket is located in Nishihara Village, Kumamoto. A complex with a restaurant, select shop, winery, and architectural office that suddenly appears in the middle of a forest. Time flows slowly here, with stylish buildings in the middle of the forest. We had lunch here🍽️ We were with our children, but we could enjoy casual French food without feeling too formal.
