I loved stopping at the old wooden posts and rusted machinery left behind from the past mining activity. Seeing them surrounded by raw volcanic terrain made me think about how harsh this environment must have been for workers. White Island Whakaari is dramatic, unpredictable, and unforgettable.

Even from the boat ride out to the island, you could smell the sulfur in the air and see plumes of steam rising from the crater. Walking on the surface felt like stepping onto another planet. The ground was warm under my boots, bubbling mud pools hissed nearby, and the colors were unreal with bright yellows and whites from the minerals. It was wild to think that this was a living volcano. The abandoned structures from the old sulfur mining operation gave the whole place an eerie atmosphere. Nature took back everything. It is beautiful in a raw and powerful way, and it reminds you how small you are compared to the forces beneath the earth.

This is such a nice beautiful beach I ever visited. It’s actually the same beach but different side. The sun is shining & the weather is really cold & windy. Really can’t swim because the sea is so cold & waving. Recommended for family holiday trips in this place. The beach is a bit out of the town & a bit far from the town.
