🌸 Higashimokoto Shibazakura Park, Hokkaido: A Dreamy Pink Flower Sea
On May 29th, I had the privilege of visiting Higashimokoto Shibazakura Park in Hokkaido, Japan, at the turn of early summer. This was a long-awaited visual feast, but when I actually stood on this land, the breathtaking scene before me far exceeded my expectations, making me feel as if I had stepped into a fairy garden from a fairy tale.
~A Heart-Stopping Pink Carpet
Upon entering the park, the first thing that struck my eye was the vast, overwhelming sea of moss phlox. As seen in the photos, an entire rolling hill was dyed a rich and vibrant pinkish-purple. These tiny flowers, blooming close to the ground, intertwined densely, like nature had accidentally spilled a pink palette, or like an extremely luxurious, enormous brocade carpet, gently cascading down the slopes, completely covering the once verdant hillsides.
Walking up the well-planned paths, every turn revealed a stunning view. From the vantage point above, visitors appeared exceptionally small, all immersed in this boundless sea of flowers. On the hillside, delicate patterns and pink torii gates are faintly visible, contrasting beautifully with the lush moss phlox, adding a touch of human romance and ethereal charm to this natural beauty.
### A Perfect Blend of Exquisite and Grandeur
The charm of Higashimokoto Moss Phlox Park lies not only in its vast scale but also in the ingenuity of its gardeners. Besides the magnificent flower slopes built into the hillside, the park also features many exquisite exhibition areas for close-up viewing.
The scenery unfolds like a painting, with some flat areas meticulously designed into neat, uniform flowerbeds. The moss phlox, pruned and planted like round pink hydrangeas, are arranged neatly on the ground, creating a visually striking geometric effect. This landscape, perfectly combining "grand and awe-inspiring" with "Japanese refinement," leaves visitors in awe of natural beauty while also deeply admiring the park's meticulous management.
~ A Sensory Experience that Stimulates All Five Senses
Visiting here is truly a multi-sensory experience.
A Visual Feast: Pink, peach, snow white, and crimson—different shades of pink shimmer in the sunlight. Whether capturing a distant view or crouching down for a close-up of the delicate, star-like five-petaled flowers, the scenes are breathtakingly beautiful, making it impossible to stop snapping photos.
~ Olfactory Healing: A gentle breeze carries not overpowering perfumes, but a subtle, sweet fragrance of earth, grass, and flowers, instantly relaxing the senses.
~ A Taste of Delight: When you're tired, you can enjoy the scenic area's "soft-serve ice cream." Its delicate pink color and rich milky aroma, combined with the scenery, make for a truly delightful experience.
