Pai Walking Street started when hill tribes and locals in Pai District brought local products and souvenirs to sell to foreign tourists from small stalls. Later, more and more vendors came to reserve space to sell until it became Pai Walking Street. The Pai District authorities therefore cooperated in closing Chaisongkhram Road from the Pai District Office to the Pai River. Traffic was closed, causing both sides of the road to be filled with many shops. This allowed tourists to choose to buy souvenirs such as clothes, pictures, postcards, as well as restaurants and various entertainment venues on this road.

They are all beautiful. One of them is Love Strawberry Pai Cafe, which has giant strawberry statues for you to take cool pictures. The shop has both drinks and food. There are both indoor and outdoor zones to choose from. There is also a souvenir zone. Coming here is a complete place. You can travel, take pictures, eat, drink sweet and cold drinks, and buy souvenirs to take home.

Enough of the little town of pai, the food in pai why not head out right outside of pai towards the pai canyon which is only a short 12mins drive down south from the little village of pai. The Pai Canyon is a tourists attraction, and although this is a tourists attraction this place is free to visit, if you do not have a transport from the pai village you can also rent a motorbike for only 150baht but utmost care is recommended. Do remember when doing this hike, do wear a good pair of walking shoes as the hike after the 1st view points can get abit scary as the hike has an unprotected hiking path where the drops can be scary if you miss a footing. But most people come here for the scenic panoramic sunset from above but the further you hike in, the more quiet and pristine it gets. This summer, I spent 5 days in a Buddhist monastery and felt a little happier. I stayed for a few days in the north of Thailand at Wat Pa Tam Wua Monastery. I learned about this place from another blogger and was very eager to visit! The monastery is located near the town of Pai, in the far north, and tourists from all over the world come here to find a sense of harmony with themselves and the world. Some come to undergo a full Vipassana spiritual practice. I would love to try it one day, but Vipassana involves a vow of silence and giving up all gadgets for 10 days, and I just wasn’t ready for that at the moment. But in the future - definitely! Anyone can come to the monastery and stay for any period up to 10 days. You register at the "reception," and they provide you with a private hut (as was the case for us), but when there are many people, as I understand, they accommodate guests in dormitories. It’s all completely free! Upon departure, you can leave a donation, but it’s not mandatory. We didn’t leave anything. The monastery has a specific schedule that everyone must follow. During free time and breaks between activities, you can do whatever you like. If there’s no vow of silence, you can socialize, eat mangoes and bananas (which also grow on the premises), read (in my case, I managed to reread "The Subconscious Can Do Anything" and started a book about the Dalai Lama, but didn’t finish it), or volunteer and spend your free time helping the monastery (cleaning, washing dishes, arranging mats and books after meditations, etc.). There’s even a small grocery store on the monastery grounds where you can buy snacks (but personally, I ate so much during meals that I didn’t even think about snacks). I didn’t spend a single penny during those five days - perfect. The monastery grounds are large, well-maintained, beautiful, very quiet, and surrounded by mountains. Walking there is pure joy! I really, really enjoyed being at the monastery, and I didn’t even want to leave. Five days of harmony, peace, free food, self-reflection, and no rush. Sometimes, that’s exactly what’s missing in the endless race of life! Even while traveling, when every day brings new locations and emotions, sometimes you just want to stop and be "with yourself." During free time, you can talk to the monks; they are all very pleasant, kind, and positive. The head abbot is just wonderful, an incredible, bright, sunny 72-year-old monk. He’s in the center of the first photo. When we were leaving, he gave everyone pendants as a farewell gift and said kind words of encouragement. I wear this pendant, hoping it brings luck and light to my path.

15 years is a long time. 15 years ago, this place had only two streets, a few small restaurants, and about 20 guesthouses. By evening, vendors would gradually set up stalls at the crossroads. At night, tents were pitched by the roadside, with mats laid out on the dirt ground, forming simple massage shops. Today, Pai has become a well-known small town in northwest Thailand! It still has only two main streets, but countless alleys now extend outward, filled with guesthouses, hotels, and resorts—reportedly over 500! 500+ 😱😱😱💰💰💰 The once small station leading to the Thai-Myanmar border has transformed into Thailand's second-largest backpacker hub, second only to Khao San Road in Bangkok. I heard that the road from Chiang Mai to Pai has hundreds of curves, so people who are prone to motion sickness will vomit or suffer from severe motion sickness, so I set off a little nervously. This was my first serious trip to Pai. It was so much fun. The foreigners were so friendly. For me, it was the beginning of the rainy season and the weather was nice. However, during the day, it was a bit hot. But overall, it was good.

Breakfast that looks ordinary but the cooking skill of a famous hotel chef, so it is definitely not ordinary. There are many egg and ham menus to choose from at a price that is definitely easy on the pocket. Which is open for service from morning until 2 pm. The owner welcomes both Thai and foreign customers in a lovely and warm manner. No matter how many times I come to Pai, I will always stop by to have breakfast here.

The air is sooooo good. The best resort with a beautiful view. This villa has a magnificent view. The mountains and green trees heal our hearts the most. This is our first time visiting Pai District, Mae Hong Son Province. It was so impressive. Driving through the forest, there are many tourist attractions to stop by.
