Seaside Wonders & Mountain Magic in Gaspé, Percé, and Mont-Albert 🏖️🏔️🌊
Get ready to chase the sunrise across Canada’s untamed coasts and wild summits! This route serves up lush green lawns with storybook white houses by the shimmering blue ocean—you’ll be living inside a postcard every step of the way.
Start at Centre récréatif Petit-Gaspé - Parc national Forillon (2342 Bd de Grande-Grève, Gaspé), where mountain trails meet coastal panoramas; hit the sunrise loop trail for dramatic lighting on the cliffs, and don’t miss the insta-worthy view from the grassy bluff by the sea. Next, roll down to Percé Rock (Percé, QC G0C 2L0). Catch sunset for golden hour photos of this iconic pier and try the boat tour for close-up action (bring a windbreaker!). Hop over to Île Bonaventure (Percé, QC G0C 2L0) to witness thousands of seabirds—your best shots: cliffs lit by late afternoon sun and grasslands blanketed with wildflowers.
Finally, escape inland to Gaspésie National Park (1981 Route du Parc, QC-299, Sainte-Anne-des-Monts), where Danxia-style mountains rise over lakes and wetlands. Trek to Mont-Albert for panoramic sunrise snaps, and keep an eye out for roaming wildlife in the meadows.
Tips:
Arrive early to dodge crowds at Percé and Bonaventure. Layer up and pack a poncho—the coast gets breezy and mountain weather changes fast. Don’t forget a zoom lens for the seabirds!

Perce Rock, Quebec, Canada
Perce Rocks is a huge siliceous limestone deposit located at the tip of the Gaspé Peninsula in Quebec, Canada. It has sandstone and siltstone veins and steep cliffs on all sides. It is 433 meters long, 90 meters wide and 88 meters high at its highest point. From a distance, the rock looks like a supertanker sailing.
It is one of the largest natural arches in the world located in water, a natural symbol of the rich geology and history of Quebec, and a major attraction in the Gaspésie region.
The Perforated Rock is a massive accumulation of siliceous limestone with sandstone and siltstone veins and is surrounded by steep rock faces on all sides. During low tide, which occurs every four hours, the water retreats from a wide inlet, allowing a full view of the rock, including a hole in an arch about 15 meters high, known as the "Gothic Rock Arch".
Originally this was a double arch in the rock, the outer arch collapsed in 1845 and became a single column outside the rock. #rock #seascape #atlantic ocean #quebec #canada #percé Rock #quebec
