Here's a summary of my travel itinerary for your reference 📒 Itinerary 📅 Day 1: 🚄: Changsha → Pingxiang North 💰53 🚗: Pingxiang North → Guesthouse 💰40/person After getting off the high-speed train, I took a bus directly to the guesthouse. The bus ride from Wugong Mountain to the train station also cost 40/person. There are many drivers soliciting passengers at the bottom of the stairs after the cable car ride; the journey takes about 1 hour. 🏨: Guesthouse 💰128/single room I stayed at Xiaoyao Mountain Villa, which offers free transportation to the trailhead. The accommodation was quite clean and provided free disposable towels. The guesthouse had food; I ordered a bowl of rice 🍜 for 15 yuan (picture 5). The taste was average. They also had other stir-fried dishes. The guesthouse owner was very nice and welcoming. Overall, it was a very good experience and highly recommended! Day 2: Longshan Village → Golden Summit Arrived at the Golden Summit around 5 PM, just in time to see the sunset 🌄. I highly recommend a one-day summit attempt; otherwise, you might get too tired halfway up and not want to climb the next day. Just go for the more strenuous one-day climb! 🏕️: Stayed at Baihefeng, only about a 10-minute walk from the Golden Summit. There were two blankets and an electric blanket, lights, and power outlets for charging. There were also sleeping mats next to the tents to keep you warm at night. Important‼️ Very close to the toilet, shower, and hot water dispenser, only a few dozen meters away. The price was 158 RMB, with an additional 30 RMB on Saturdays. The boss will give you a gift 🏅 (Picture 3) Day 3: Golden Summit → Zhong'an Cableway 🌄Sunrise is around 6:30 AM We descended around 7:10 AM and arrived at the Zhong'an Cableway at 8:34 AM. If you don't want to carry water and food, you can buy them along the way. Bottled water is 10 RMB, and drinks are 15 RMB. Hot water is free at the summit. At the supply points, a small portion is 10 RMB, and a large portion is 20 RMB (some supply points don't have hot water). Toilets are 2 RMB. 🌟Tips: 1. Clothing: It gets super hot while climbing, but a bit cold at the summit. Basically, a quick-drying shirt and pants + a fleece jacket + a windproof jacket and pants should be enough. 1. The pork rib inner pot is optional; I brought one but didn't need it as it wasn't cold inside the tent most nights. 2. Route: You can plan your route in advance on Liangbu Road. The higher you go, the more branching paths there are and the fewer signposts, so remember to check the map! 3. Wugong Mountain Night Climb: While climbing, I didn’t feel as tired as I imagined. On the way, I met some super nice college students to climb with! We were very lucky to see the stars and sunrise, it was truly beautiful—what my eyes saw was ten thousand times better than what the photos captured! 🕙 My timeline: 21:40 Arrived at Pingxiang North, took an unlicensed taxi for 100 yuan with 4 people to Wugong Mountain Visitor Center 23:00 Took an unlicensed taxi for 50 yuan to Wugong Mountain trailhead. On weekends before midnight, there should be free shuttle buses for tourists; on weekdays, they seem to operate only until 21:30 (we probably paid too much, you can try to bargain since the distance isn’t far, maybe around five or six kilometers) 23:30 Start climbing → walking with breaks along the way 3:00 Arrived at Haohan Slope → put on thermal leggings 4:00 Arrived at Diaomazhuang → rested for over an hour, ate instant noodles, changed inner layers, applied heat packs 5:30 Headed to the Golden Summit → the last part was a bit steep, climbing over one mountain after another 6:30 Arrived at the Golden Summit → there was already a line of yellow on the horizon, really beautiful 👚 Clothing advice (super important!): · While climbing: inner layer + shell jacket is enough! I wore a Camel 3-in-1 jacket; when hot, I removed the inner layer, which was much more comfortable. For pants, I just wore my usual loose pants, didn’t bring hiking pants. · Life-saving gear at the summit: thermal leggings! Dry clothes to change into! (Change near the top) Gloves! Mask or face cover! Hat! A wool hat is best to protect your ears! (The wind really hits your face hard, it hurts!) ⚠️ Key point: You’ll feel hot while climbing, but the wind at the summit is huge! Be sure to bring enough warm clothes! 🎒 Must-bring items: 1️⃣ Flashlight🔦 (some steps are hard to see and easy to trip on) 2️⃣ Food: instant noodles in a cup (there’s hot water at Diaomazhuang), a bottle of water, a bottle of electrolyte drink, chocolate or bread (don’t bring too much, it’s tiring) 3️⃣ Heat packs (stick on a few, they really help) 💡 Tips: · Get a good night’s sleep before climbing! · I drank a cup of coffee before climbing, it worked well. · Don’t carry too much, but warm clothes are a must. · I didn’t buy trekking poles; I found one in a trash bin at the summit. I felt they weren’t necessary going up but very helpful going down. If you climb during the day, someone might give you one, because a girl randomly gave me one on the way down. ^_^ Night climbing isn’t that tiring, just chatting and looking at the stars along the way. ⭐ After climbing Wugong Mountain, I came to Yingtan from Pingxiang. I stayed near Yingtan Station. Early in the morning, I took the K2 bus and arrived at the Longhushan Tourist Center in less than half an hour. Then I transferred to the scenic shuttle bus for one stop, and in a few minutes, I reached Yuxian Pool. Getting off there is the entrance to the high-altitude plank road. It starts with a short climb, then you just walk along the wooden plank road on the mountainside with your eyes closed. ⭐ Along the way, there are many oddly shaped stones showing various forms, all with explanations. Those with a good imagination can recognize them: Ancient Wall Ruins - Lone Peak Remnant Hill - Little Fairy Rock - Looking Up Frog, etc. It takes about an hour to reach the most famous Elephant Trunk Hill, where you can take plenty of photos from any angle. ⭐ After taking photos, walk for fifteen minutes to reach the East Gate of Elephant Trunk Hill. The famous stone tablet "The World's Number One Elephant" is here. Do not exit the East Gate; turn left and walk along the fitness trail for less than ten minutes to another elephant viewing platform. Climbing up there offers a more stunning view of Elephant Trunk Hill. ⭐ Then follow the trail with several climbs, including a short 80° staircase and a few spots where you need to bend down to pass through, and you will arrive at Xujingtang. ⭐ This place is good for a rest. There are two paths to choose from: the left path leads to Xiake Ancient Trail and Xiake Cave, with an exit near Wuwen Village, taking about an hour and a half; the right path goes to Shejia Village, exiting from the South Gate of Elephant Trunk Hill, opposite the Peach Blossom Isle where the coffin-raising performance is held, taking about an hour. Since the coffin-raising performance is at fixed times (10, 12, 14, 16 o'clock) and it takes half an hour to walk from Wuwen Village to the performance, plan your time accordingly and choose your route first. ⭐ I went to Peach Blossom Isle first, watched the coffin-raising performance, then walked to Wuwen Village, and took the scenic shuttle bus to Zhengyi Temple. Souvenirs at Peach Blossom Isle are a bit expensive; you can buy them in the ancient town, where prices vary, so check several shops. The small zongzi (rice dumplings) in Wuwen Village are quite tasty, one piece each. ⭐ A quick visit to Zhengyi Temple takes less than half an hour. Then transfer to the scenic shuttle bus to Shangqing Ancient Town. It’s not a very long street. The archway at the entrance reads "Hometown of the Celestial Master." Next to it is a Luckin Coffee, and the street is full of shops. You should try the Shangqing tofu. ⭐ At the end of the ancient street is the Si Han Celestial Master Mansion, which is worth spending some extra time exploring every corner. About an hour is enough. ⭐ After leaving the Celestial Master Mansion, you can choose to take a bus from the drop-off point to Dashangqing Palace, or walk there like I did. It’s just on the road to the left front of the Celestial Master Mansion, passing Shangqing School, and takes about twenty minutes. ⭐ The red walls of Dashangqing Palace are very beautiful. Inside, you’ll find only ruins left, still under repair. Taking photos at the entrance to the ruins is nice. If interested, turn right to see the Fumo Hall, which is sealed off. On the way, you will encounter two thousand-year-old ancient trees. This is roughly the itinerary for Longhushan. I finished around 4 PM. Because the transfers were a bit troublesome, I called a carpool to the high-speed rail station. The bamboo raft ride is said to be very special, but I left it for next time due to time constraints.

🚗 Departure from Nanchang Nanchang West ➡ Pingxiang North 98 RMB There is a direct shuttle bus from the high-speed rail station to the Wugong Mountain Scenic Area for 27 RMB, running every ten minutes or so, taking about 70 minutes in total. After entering the scenic area, you need to take the scenic area shuttle bus for about 10 minutes. Plan your time accordingly. 🚡 The cable car has both uphill and downhill routes, each divided into two sections. Decide based on your stamina. It’s windy at the summit, so keep warm. 🍂It's the perfect autumn and winter season, how could we miss Wugong Mountain after climbing so many mountains? This time we chose a relatively well-established route: Shenzi Village - Alpine Meadow - Tieti Peak - Golden Summit - Diaomazhuang - Descend to the Scenic Area Entrance The entire route is nearly 19 km, taking eleven hours (descending took some extra time due to the main hiker’s knee pain). 🍁We drove about two hours from the south of Changsha to reach the Shenzi Village parking lot. If you don’t stay overnight, parking costs 10 yuan per car. Entering Shenzi Village, villagers charge a 10 yuan sanitation fee per person. I have to say, the scenery along the Shenzi Village route is truly stunning; I almost thought I was in Ili. Just look at the pictures to see how beautiful the scenery is. For the first two hours with my partner, we hardly met anyone; the mountain was silent. When we ascended to about 700-800 meters, the area was shrouded in mist. It wasn’t until near the Broken Stone Pass that we encountered a group of heavy-load hikers. Upon reaching the alpine meadow, the view immediately opened up. Since it was December, it was still very cold on the mountain. I recommend dressing warmly because once you sweat and stop, it’s easy to catch a chill. My personal advice: don’t fight with nature; the summit is really cold.
