When it comes to vacation, what most people think of is sunshine, the sea, the beach, and comfortable star-rated hotels. Then it's you lazily enjoying all of this, feeling that these elements are necessary for a vacation. Finally, this year we can finally travel around the world for vacation again, especially to the beach! It's almost the season for the ripening of Musang King durians, and Penang, an island with both sea views and delicious food, is a great choice! When you come to Penang, be sure to visit George Town, which is usually the main area where tourists stop to play when they first visit Penang. George Town is home to well-known world cultural heritage sites, classic restaurants with various dishes, and the new Gurney Drive street food night market~ However, compared to Batu Ferringhi, it lacks large beaches for people to play in due to land reclamation. Fortunately, there are still wide sea views to make up for it. If you are a tourist who mainly visits Georgetown but also wants to see the sea, staying in this area is a good choice~ Today, I will share a Penang Ascott Gurney Service Apartment that the island owner just stayed in last week. Ascott, which was renovated and rebranded at the end of last year, not only has excellent scenery but also a superb location! It is also very suitable for long-term stays. The bar in the lobby on the first floor and the pool bar on the seventh floor are both great places for daily leisure!

Address - 18 Gurney Drive, Penang, Malaysia Highlights - sea view, spacious room, walk in wardrobe, kitchenette Avg. Price per Person - sgd60+ Rating - 5/5 We stayed 3 nights and was sad to leave. The bed and quilt was super comfortable. Love the walk in wardrobe. Bathroom is also spacious, with rain shower. Service was good too. Staff was friendly. Only thing that wasnt great was the lack of tv channels, and weird housekeeping rule. On our second day, housekeeping only came at 3pm but we were busy getting ourselves ready for dinner and told him to come back after 530pm, to which he replied "don't have liao". So he just gave us new towels. Really tempting to stay here again if we visit!

Had a chance to stay in this newly renovated Ascott Gurney in Penang that has just opened in Dec 2022! The hotel itself is very new with most of the rooms have partial seaview. The location is unbeatable, you are practically 5-10min to basically all the attractions in Penang such as UNESCO Heritage area and nearby Gurney Drive. Below the hotel there are Coffee Bean, Yin by Sourdough, massage spa and many more! I would recommend anyone who come to Penang to stay in this hotel. Funfact: The hotel is used to be known as Gurney Hotel owned by Plenitude Berhad. Now it is operated by the hospitality arm of Singapore’s CapitaLand group called Ascott. #newhotels #ascott #penang

Just got back from Penang | Ascott's momentum is too strong

I was unlucky on the day I went. Since I was only staying in Penang for one day, I just wanted to stay in the city center. The Eastern & Oriental Hotel was extremely expensive/Macalister Mansion was fully booked/Courtyard by Marriott was over 1000 and had no points redemption rooms/Marriott was not yet open. In the end, I chose Ascott Residence. 📍Detailed address: 18, Persiaran Gurney, Northeast Penang Island, Malaysia 🚗Transportation strategy: It's on the north side of the city center by the seaside, and Penang is not big, so transportation is very convenient. It's a short taxi ride away, and I recommend taking a taxi. 🌟Highlights: 1 The hotel is relatively new 2 Good value for money 3 By the seaside, with a side sea view 4 Convenient city walk in the city center 5 Well-equipped downstairs 6 APPELLES amenities are great ⛱Hotel environment: It's like being in the best state after opening, the environment is more like a hotel than an apartment. Great hotel at Gurney area. Located beside Gurney Walk (small mall) and about 15-20minutes leisurely stroll by the seaside to Gurney Drive Hawker Center and Gurney Paragon. about 5-10minutes by car to touristy area of Georgetown. The view is awesome from our room, as we managed to get a glimpse of the Straits of Malacca. My rooms was modernly furnished. We enjoyed the facilities such as the gym and the ocean-facing infinity pool. Very unique cocktails at the bar as well! #malaysia

I would like to share my experience during stayed at there. When i enter the lobby, i felt amazed. The lobby was very nice and great. The room very okay, the toilet sooo big 😍 they had variety of breakfast & very delicious. The pool also big.
