From Sunset Bliss to Castle Views: A Taste of Greece’s Hidden Treasures
#europetrip
From the sunlit shores of Zante Island to the historic charm of Nafplio, my Greek journey was a feast for the senses. In Zante, I was greeted by one of the most breathtaking sunsets imaginable—fiery hues dancing across the ocean horizon, leaving an indelible mark on my travel memories.
As I made my way to Nafplio, the town’s allure captured me instantly. Perched majestically above, the Palamidi Castle stood like a guardian of history, offering sweeping views of the town and the sea that stretched endlessly beyond. Exploring this fortress was a step back in time, filled with stories that echoed through its ancient walls.
But the adventure was not just about sights—it was a culinary revelation. Nafplio gifted me with the best Greek grill I’ve ever had: tender, savory, and infused with authentic Mediterranean flavors. To my surprise, I even discovered the best Chinese food I’ve tasted in Greece, offering a perfect taste of home amid my travels.
This trip was a harmonious blend of spectacular sights, rich history, and unforgettable flavors. Greece continues to astonish with its diverse offerings and warm hospitality. If you ever plan a journey that promises awe-inspiring views and unparalleled gastronomy, make sure Zante and Nafplio are on your itinerary.

“Leading” Greece - Peloponnese Peninsula Edition.
【Introduction】: The Peloponnese Peninsula, near Athens, is separated from the mainland by the Corinth Canal. Over time, it has witnessed the rise and fall of Greek, Byzantine, and Roman civilizations, all of which have left their mark here. Therefore, the Peloponnese Peninsula is a tourist destination for history enthusiasts, with numerous archaeological sites that will leave them dazzled. However, the Peloponnese Peninsula is also a mountainous region, with paths crisscrossing through orange and olive groves nestled in the shrubs.
Passing through the famous Corinth Canal, continue to Mycenae, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the ancient cities worth visiting in the Peloponnese region, as well as one of the most important historical sites in Greece. From 2000 BC to 1200 BC, the Mycenaean civilization was active throughout Greece. The main attraction of Mycenae is, of course, the Acropolis and its massive walls, from which you can overlook the magnificent surrounding scenery. The Lion Gate, symbolizing the city's protection, proudly stands in the center of the walls.
Nafplio, a paradise-like place, is hailed as the most beautiful town on the Peloponnese Peninsula. Although it is crowded with tourists, it does not affect the beauty and romance of Nafplio in the slightest.
The Olympia site is located in a valley on the Peloponnese Peninsula and has been inhabited since prehistoric times. In the 10th century BC, Olympia became a center for worshiping Zeus. The Altis, the sacred precinct of the gods, is where the masterpieces of Greek architecture are most concentrated. In addition to temples, various sports facilities used for the Olympic Games are also preserved here. As early as 776 BC, the Olympic Games were held in Olympia every four years.
Patras is not only historical but also fashionable, with the most dazzling being the Patras Bridge, which shines like a diamond necklace. From a distance, it looks like a string of large gemstone necklaces, connecting the southwestern corner of the Greek mainland with the northwestern corner of the Peloponnese Peninsula, becoming a modern landmark that the people of Patras are proud of.
