#Skyline Queenstown Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in May)
A Must-Do Queenstown Activity!
Take a scenic ride in the iconic Skyline Gondola and take in the stunning views as you ride the steepest cable car lift in the Southern Hemisphere!
You’ll be carried 480 metres above Queenstown and Lake Wakatipu to the top of Bob's Peak, where you’ll enjoy a spectacular 220-degree panorama with breath-taking views of Coronet Peak, The Remarkables, Walter and Cecil Peak and, of course, Queenstown.
When you get to the top, enjoy the spectacular views while having a drink from the Bar, take a few rides on the thrilling Luge (once is never enough), refuel with a sumptuous buffet lunch or dinner at Stratosfare Restaurant. There's more to enjoy! #travel #newzealand #queenstown
Queenstown Skyline Gondola
price - $46 NZD for return ticket (adult)
Highlights - the view!
Rating- 3/5
Price is a bit steep for a short gondola ride so I find it a bit hard to justify the price as the view wasn’t as good as I expected. Go only if the weather is good and view is clear.#tripblazers #mytripvlog
Queenstown, New Zealand: A Stunning Getaway for the May Day Holiday
During the May Day holiday, I went to Queenstown, New Zealand, for a wonderful leisure time. Over the weekend, I took the famous Skyline Gondola in Queenstown and overlooked the beautiful scenery of the entire town. The distant snow-capped mountains sparkled in the sunlight, giving a sense of a world worth living in. The picturesque scenery of the whole town made it hard to leave. Here, I experienced the perfect combination of tranquility and nature, as if all worries had disappeared. Such a holiday makes one look forward to the next trip even more.
Life advice: Visit this place before leaving Queenstown
I stayed in Queenstown for 4 days, did not play extreme projects, and took a more relaxed route:
D1⃣️
Stroll by Lake Wakatipu→Century Steamboat→ Walter Peak Ranch
D2⃣️
Deer Park→Sky Cable Car
D3⃣️
Glenorchy→Paradise Town
D4⃣️
Arrowtown
📍Lake Wakatipu
Walk from St Omer Park all the way to Queenstown Beach, the scenery along the way is never enough, I like the boat dock the most, you can tease ducks and watch seagulls fly by here.
In spring, you can see cherry blossoms, and you won't get tired of staying by the lake all day.
📍TSS Earnslaw Steamboat
A century-old steamboat the same age as the Titanic, shuttles between Queenstown Wharf and Walter Peak Plateau Ranch every day, usually 3~5 shifts a day, actually just a boat back and forth.
🎫Ticket price: Adults 99 dollars, children 49 dollars, children under 4 years old are free
The whole journey includes a 1.5-hour steamboat cruise + BBQ barbecue meal or afternoon tea + farm performance, which takes about 3.5 hours in total.
📍Walter Peak Mountain Ranch
The end point of the steamboat, this is one of the most primitive plateau ranches in New Zealand, with many cute animals to see. The farm performance show is worth watching, usually including shearing + sheepdog herding sheep.
The BBQ buffet in the steamboat project is also eaten at this ranch, and the taste is surprisingly good.
📍Deer Park
The most worthwhile place to go in Queenstown! Not only can you encounter various wild animals, but you can also overlook the entire Queenstown.
The park is very large and can only be driven in. It costs 55 dollars per car. Prepare change in advance to find a self-service feed bucket to buy feed. You may see sheep, alpacas, sika deer, pigs, wild ducks, cows and other animals.
The grassland halfway up the mountain is an excellent position to overlook Queenstown. From here, you will see more animals in the direction of another downhill.
📍Skyline Sky Cable Car
A good position to overlook Queenstown, it is recommended to go in the evening, from sunset to dark are very beautiful! But don't eat on it.
Cable car ticket: Adults 52 dollars, children 36 dollars, children under 5 years old are free.
📍Glenorchy Town
Just around Queenstown, this is known as the place with the most Middle-earth temperament, and it is also one of the locations of The Lord of the Rings. The iconic red house is located at Gleborchy Wharf. If the weather is good, you can walk by the lake.
The road from Queenstown to Glenorchy is known as one of the top ten most beautiful roads in the world, but there are actually many similar roads in New Zealand...
📍Paradise Town
Further inside Glenorchy is Paradise Town. You can see some ranches along the way. The iconic paradise sign is a must-visit place. However, the road to Paradise Town is not easy to drive. There are several puddles along the way. You need an off-road vehicle. Our SUV struggled on that road, so we returned halfway, and we don't know what the end of Paradise Town is.
📍Arrowtown
It's very close to Queenstown, half a day round trip is enough, this is a beautiful place in autumn! Other seasons can be skipped

The Luge in Queenstown, New Zealand
Queenstown New Zealand has all the attractions for a family trip: nature, food, shopping and fun rides like The Luge! It's really worth taking the family pass at about RM610 for 2 adults and 3 children that covers the gondola and luge ride for 9 rounds!#freehotelstay
Queenstown you beauty
Queenstown is beautiful wherever you go. Just for the views, it’s worth returning again and again. I highly recommend going to the gondolas to get the most magnificent viewpoint. It is my #2023TravelWish to return back to New Zealand to travel more during my youth before I start a family and explore the country one more time. I especially want to go skiing again with my friends. #queenstown #New Zealand Travel. I would definitely also recommend the slingshot jump to anyone who is an adrenaline junkie. What an incredible experience!

Queenstown Skyline
It is a must visit when travelling to Queenstown. It has breathtaking view of Queenstown and the photo is like drawing. We further walk up the trail to have better view. It also has excited activity like luge that I see others enjoy very much. Worth visit place in Queenstown.

Located at Bob'Peak, it is the best place to overlook downtown Queenstown and Lake Wakatipu and the distant mountains. There is also a famous SkylineRestaurant on the hill. The only Maori culture war dance show in Queenstown is in the Sky Cable Car. The top of the mountain. Stargazing at the top of the mountain at night, with professional guides and professional stargazing instruments
Address: Gondola
Queenstown is a very beautiful place, with a clean and clear beauty on a cloudy day and a sunny beauty on a sunny day. At sunset, take the cable car to the highest point and see the sun falling behind the mountains disappearing a little bit in the city. It is a wonderful moment. The
sky cable car does not have to make an appointment in advance, and you can buy tickets at any time. It is recommended to pick up the cable car in Queenstown on a good day. If you want to watch the sunset after sunset, go up half an hour before sunset and stay until half an hour after sunset. During the sunset, the shadow of the mountain will cover the sun and darken the color of the lake. So if you want to see the blue and blue Lake Wakatipu, it will be earlier, at least 2 hours ahead of the sunset time.
The top of the mountain, in addition to the viewing platform, the famous cafeteria, the Maori war dance stage, the merchandise store and the kitchen for the light meals during the day. Going up from the viewing platform, there is a funny jellybelly statue, a photo taken, and a tour.
